SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
From Gold Coast Official Barrier Trials 27.12.2017 – Heat 1.
RESCIND, trained by M Dunn, retired from the event near the 600m after suffering a fracture to the left tibia. The filly was subsequently euthanized on humane grounds.
 
From Kilcoy Race Club – 02.12. 2017
Race 3 – Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident approaching the final turn where Jockey J Woodhouse (OUR ROCK O’REILLY) was dislodged. After taking evidence from Jockey Nathan Day (WICKED TRILOGY), Jockey J Hoopert (DRUMS JEWEL), and Jockey J Woodhouse, Mr Hoopert was found guilty of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift wider on the track and placing OUR ROCK O’REILLY in restricted ground which resulted in that runner contacting the heels of WICKED TRILOGY, dislodging its rider. Jockey Hoopert was suspended from riding in races for a period of 15 days to commence midnight 30/12/2017 and to expire midnight 14/01/2018.
 
 
RACE 1: Aquis Farm Ladies Day 6 Jan QTIS 3yo C&G Maiden Plate – 900m
1st: Aggravate 2nd: Proof Perfect 3rd: Gwapo 4th: Prossimita
 
POP N ZAC – Hung in badly throughout and consequently could not be fully tested in the home straight. After the race trainer S Green reported that the gelding was found to be lame in the near front knee and indicated he would now spell the horse.
 
BRAYD HEART – Near the 400m became unbalanced almost dislodging its rider. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small abrasion to the off fore fetlock.
 
RACE 2: Early Bird GA Magic Millions QTIS 3yo Fillies Maiden Plate – 900m
1st: Dixyville 2nd: Givem Hell 3rd: Al Sabella 4th: Umawinner
 
As Jockey J Morris was unable to arrive on course by the prescribed time due to transport difficulties, he was replaced on LUVASIA by Jockey S Bogenhuber.
 
LUVASIA - Checked shortly after the start when inconvenienced.
 
NAMO KEKENI - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
UMAWINNER - Hung out and raced wide throughout.
 
RACE 3: UBET Calcutta Dinner F&M Class 1 Handicap – 1200m
1st: Cliodhna 2nd: Shuda Known Better 3rd: Tactical Manuever 4th: Flying Machine
 
RAVENS WING - Slow into stride.
 
TACTICAL MANEUVER - Steadied when crowded shortly after the start.
 
CHE BELLA VITA – Checked severely near the 1100m.
 
App. J Murphy (CLIODHNA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) for permitting his mount to shift in near the 1100m when insufficiently clear of  WICKED KNICKERS which as a result was taken in across the running of CHE BELLA VITA which had to be checked severely. App. J Murphy was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 06/01/2018 and to expire midnight 17/01/2018.
 
RACE 4: Magic Millions 13 Jan Maiden Plate – 1400m
1st: Madison Point 2nd: Isaverdict 3rd: Lord of the Dreamz 4th: DLeeajet
 
As Jockey G Colless was to be overweight, he was replaced on SHADOW QUEEN by Jockey J Taylor. Jockey Colless was fined the sum of $100.
 
TUMUT RIVER which slipped over on the way to the saddling enclosure, was examined by the veterinary surgeon at the barriers and passed to start.
 
CHOISTAR LA VISTAH - Checked when crowded on jumping.
 
SHADOW QUEEN – Checked severely when crowded near the 1100m.
 
MADISON POINT – Checked severely when crowded near the 1100m when taken in by CORSINI which shifted in and away from TUMUT RIVER.
 
EYERONIC - Checked severely near the 1000m.
 
TUMUT RIVER - Hung out on the home turn.
 
SONIC QUILL - Near the 200m when held up behind a tiring runner, shifted out.
 
RACE 5: Ladies Day Fiesta Event Centre BenchMark 75 Handicap – 1800m
1st: Skytrek 2nd: Canongate 3rd: Grey Steyne 4th: Dazzle Us Again
 
Stewards considered an objection lodged by App. B Nothdurft the rider of GREY STEYNE which finished 3rd against CANONGATE (App. B Thornton) being declared the 2nd placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference inside the 100m. After viewing the patrol film and taking evidence, Stewards were of the view that whilst CANONGATE shifted out into the running line of GREY STEYNE, the extent of the interference suffered to GREY STEYNE did not exceed the 1¼ length margin between the horses and bearing in mind the proximity to the end of the race, the protest was dismissed.

POLYNIKES - Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
MY KIND - Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
SKYTREK – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
HARBOR SPRINGS – It was reported that the mare sustained a laceration to the near fore leg.
 
GREY STEYNE – Checked near the 100m. App. B Thornton (CANONGATE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that near the 100m whilst riding it along with the whip, he permitted his mount to shift out across the running of GREY STEYNE which was checked. App. Thornton was suspended from riding in races for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 06/01/2018 and to expire midnight 15/01/2018.
 
 
RACE 6: Chinese New Year 17 Feb C,G&E Class 1 Handicap – 1200m
1st: Dream Master 2nd: Captain the World 3rd: The Ambassadore 4th: Love Ya Mrs
 
CHARMING PRINCE – Slow into stride.
 
SEQUALOS SPIRIT – Over-raced during the middle stages.
 
TRIPLE WON – Crowded near the 700m. It was reported that the gelding sustained a laceration to the near fore leg.
 
THE AMBASSAFDORE – Laid in near the 700m and was bumped on the hindquarter. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
LAKE ARGYLE – Raced 3 wide throughout.
