The gelding was treated on course by the veterinary surgeon and taken to a local clinic for further assessment. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance will be required prior to the gelding’s next start.

FIRE UP ROSCO – Slow to begin. Approaching the 400m shifted out to improve and bumped SHOUT OUT. Leaving the 100m was hampered by MISHANI PHANTOM, which shifted out. Jockey R. Plumb reported that the gelding did not feel entirely comfortable on today’s firm surface.

TIME TO SAIL – Slow to begin. Stewards questioned jockey A. Fancourt regarding her decision to shift back to the inside of DRAMATIC MOMENTS upon straightening. Dittman stated that COURT RULES had been inclined to shift ground both out and back in leading up to that point. Therefore he was concerned that COURT RULES was going to shift in passing the 300m and as such elected to shift out in the hope that a run would eventuate between COURT RULES and AUERBACH. Shortly thereafter COURT RULES rolled out and as a consequence he was disappointed for that run until a point leaving the 100m. Given the racing manners of COURT RULES rounding the home turn stewards did not believe that jockey Dittman’s decision to shift out near the 300m in an attempt to obtain clear running in all the circumstances was unreasonable.
