GENERAL:
 
Stewards accepted Jockey M. Palmers explanation tendered for being unable to fulfil his riding engagements in Races 4 and 7. Rider replacements were made as per Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
 
Race 1 – Cordner Tax Advisory F&M Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
Del Vega – Began awkwardly.
 
Teeancee – Slow to begin.
 
Speaking Better – Began awkwardly.
 
Calisto – Began very awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition and lost ground.
 
Creative Moss – Approaching the 900m had to be steadied away from the heels of Speaking Better which shifted out.
 
 
Race 2 – Stonehouse Group C,G&E Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
As Jockey R. Plumb was to be overweight, he was replaced on Seat of Power by App. J. Guthmann-Chester. Jockey Plumb was fined the sum of $200.
 
App. J. Guthmann-Chester was advised by QAS personnel to stand down from his rides in Races 3 and 4, to allow him time to retain some fluids before being reassessed by QAS prior to his ride in Race 5 to determine whether he would be fit to fulfil his riding engagements later in the day. App. J. Guthmann-Chester was replaced in this race on Seat of Power by App. J Murphy. App. Guthmann-Chester was fined the sum of $300 for failing to fulfil his engagements in Race 3 on Angelas Beauty and in Race 4 on Aunty Snow. Replacements were made as per Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
The start was delayed when Whakarewarewa proved difficult to load.
 
The start was further delayed when the electronic start button failed to release the field. Subsequently the starter manually effected the start.
 
Round of Applause – Slow to begin. It was reported that the gelding cast its off hind plate in running.
 
The Demtel Man – Began awkwardly and made contact with Hes The Deel. Passing the 900m after settling in a trailing position, one wide, commenced to over-race when the pace steadied and had to shift out to avoid the heels of Ponderoso and in doing so made contact with the hindquarters of La Benca. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
 
Hes The Deel – Bumped on jumping away. Approaching the 100m when improving, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of Nalssendori which was tiring and shifted out slightly.
 
Tigerpower – Bumped on jumping away. Approaching the 800m commenced to over-race and got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance and was also hampered by Seat of Power which when over-racing, shifted out at that point. Raced wide rounding the home turn. Hung out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Holus Bolus - Bumped on jumping away.
 
Whakarewarewa – Had to be steadied away from the heels of The Demtel Man passing the 900m.
 
Seat of Power – Over-raced approaching the 800m and shifted out.
 
La Benca – After racing in a rearward position three wide in the early stages, was allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead passing the 700m.
 
 
Race 3 – Cordner Super Advisory Class 6 Plate – 1800m
 
Prior to this race, the starting button was replaced and the barriers tested and deemed suitable to proceed.
 
Private Hero – Slow to begin.
 
Sidero Star – Slow to begin. After passing the 900m was shifted to a three wide position to improve. Passing the 400m was bumped on the hindquarters by Canberra which shifted out to improve.
 
Nordic Show – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 4 – Wash It Australia QTIS 2YO Handicap – 1400m
 
Stewards permitted App. J. Hodge to fulfil his riding engagement on Schinia ½ kg overweight as no other suitable rider was available. App. Hodge was reprimanded under AR190(3).
 
As Enchanted Glory was late arriving on course due to transport difficulties, the filly underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
 
App. C. Bayliss (Class of Royalty) was dislodged en-route to the barriers and suffered a harmless fall. App. Bayliss remounted and cleared himself of any injury.
 
Sizzling Babe – Began awkwardly and shifted out making heavy contact with Regal Romance.
 
Enchanted Glory – Began awkwardly and shifted in making contact with Mishani Romance which in turn was turned inwards and made heavy contact with Regal Romance. Passing the 500m was slightly inconvenienced when Aunty Snow laid in.
 
Mishani Romance – Bumped on jumping away and lost ground. Approaching the 300m had to be steadied and alter course to the outside of Who Said So which shifted in under pressure.
 
Regal Romance – Slow to begin and bumped heavily initially by Sizzling Babe and then shortly after by Mishani Romance which was taken in by Enchanted Glory.
 
Class of Royalty – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
Schinia – Slow into stride. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
Picton – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5 – Cordner Private Advisory QTIS 3YO Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
Mexican Yell suffered lacerations to its head in the float en-route to the track and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1pm on veterinary advice.
 
Combativite – Began awkwardly.
 
Mosht Up – Began awkwardly and shortly after jumping blundered of its own accord. Passing the 900m had to be steadied when improving onto the heels of Rhythm Dancer.
 
Jimmy Neutron – Slow to begin.
 
Rhythm Dancer – Approaching the 900m had to be steadied and was forced in by Amore Danza (App. J. Guthmann-Chester) which shifted in when not fully clear. App. Guthmann-Chester was reprimanded under AR131(a).
 
Iracebeth – Approaching the 900m had to be steadied when cramped for room by Rhythm Dancer which was taken in by Jimmy Neutron.
 
 
Race 6 – Latitude Terranora BenchMark 62 Handicap – 1300m
 
Round Mountain Gem – Bumped on jumping. In the early stages, raced keenly when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover and passing the 900m raced in restricted room between Oddfellow to its outside and Mosserati which was racing to its inside shifted out slightly.
 
Oddfellow – Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Engraved – After racing four wide without cover in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to take up a position outside the leader passing the 700m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 7 – Cordner Business Advisory Open Handicap – 1300m
 
Mishani El Lobo – Began awkwardly.
 
Stella Ombra – Began awkwardly and unbalanced its rider for a few strides and shifted in.
 
Bushy – Slow to begin. Tightened shortly after jumping. App. S. Lacy reported that the gelding, in her opinion, did not handle todays track conditions.
 
Hingus Rose – Shortly after the start laid out tightening Bodega Negra and Time to Torque.
 
Bodega Negra – Shortly after the start tightened between runners.

Apoloboom – Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before obtaining cover in that position passing the 800m.
 
Manaya – Passing the 800m App. J. Guthmann-Chesters offside rein broke. This resulted in App. Guthmann-Chester having limited control of the mare which then shifted to the outside of the track and remained wide for the remainder of the event. Stewards in the presence of stable representative for M. Costa, Mr M. Morrison, inspected the reins and found them to be in a satisfactory condition and noted that the breakage was not due to stress. Mr Morrison further advised that the reins had only been recently purchased and were used for the second time today. Stewards accepted the reasons tendered by Mr Morrison and acknowledged that the reins were in a suitable condition.
 
Perfect Dare – Raced four wide without cover in the early stages before pressing forward to race three wide joint leader with cover passing the 700m.
 
 
Race 8 – Cordner Advisory Class 4 Plate – 1400m
 
Polemic – Bumped on jumping.
 
Mr Tickets – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
Cruz De Vega – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Passing the 900m was forced four wide by Smart as Attack which hung out. Approaching the 250m, laid in and became awkwardly placed at the heels of Polemic.
 
Central Witness – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
Smart as Attack – Passing the 900m when being restrained from the heels of I am Impinge, hung out despite the efforts of its rider forcing Cruz De Vega wider on the track and proved difficult to ride for a short distance.
 
Argie Bargie – Laid in under pressure whilst weakening in the home straight.
