Race 1: Pink Ribbon Cup 19th September Class 3 Handicap – 1800m
 
HALLOWED GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
SNIPPETSPEED – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and shifted out near the 1600m forcing SCILAGO wider. When questioned as to the seemingly disappointing performance Jockey B. Pengelly stated the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages however, failed to run on as expected. Jockey Pengelly further stated that in his opinion the gelding was disappointing. Trainer D. Fletcher advised Stewards that the gelding had pulled up well and he was not overly disappointed with its performance today. Mr Fletcher was of the opinion that the impost of 60 kilos was a telling factor on today’s performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
 
SCILAGO – Momentarily forced wider near the 1600m by SNIPPETSPEED, which shifted out when overracing. Overraced in the middle stages. Had a tendency to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 2: David O’Bryan Turns 50 Class 5 Handicap – 1200m
 
BEAUFORT PARK – Laid in for a short distance after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
LWAZI – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
SANGLIER – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester (SANGLIER) was reprimanded for using his whip on six occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Race 3: Maguire/Crase 2020 Gold Coast Celebrations QTIS 3YO Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
MUD ROCKY – Began awkwardly, lost ground and shifted out bumping NORTH ROCKS, which was slow to begin.
 
NORTH ROCKS – Slow to begin.
 
MENINDEE – Shifted in near the 900m momentarily placing GO FACTOR in restricted room. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
GO FACTOR – Momentarily placed in restricted room by MENINDEE, which shifted in near the 900m.
 
WAIKATO – Shifted in near the 800m bumping VANDERLAND. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
VANDERLAND –Commenced to overrace approaching the 800m.Bumped by WAIKATO, which shifted in near the 800m and raced ungenerously for a short distance.
 
COURT ROCKING – Laid in under pressure in the home straight proving difficult to ride out.
 
Race 4: Curto’s 40th Celebration QTIS 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
QUEEN ANN – Slow to begin.
 
HEDONIE – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DAPHNE FRANCES – Began very awkwardly and shifted out crowding runners to its outside.
 
SHEZABEANS – Shifted inwards on jumping crowding runners to its inside. Raced greenly in the middle stages.
 
TIP TOES – Began awkwardly and was crowded for room for a short distance after the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WARRIOR CAT – Crowded for room for a short distance after the start and lost ground.
 
PRIDE OF JEZEBEL – Crowded for room for a short distance after the start.
 
MAGIC AMELIA – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
GULLFOSS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 5: Happy 75th Birthday Noel Smith Maiden Handicap – 1200m
 
EAGER STREET – The saddle shifted back on jumping placing its rider A. Spinks at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.
 
I’M CALLIN’ DIBS – Began awkwardly. Restrained off heels leaving the 700m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ELLYSAY – Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening THREEPOINT MISSILE.
 
THREEPOINT MISSILE – Lost ground when tightened for room by ELLYSAY at the start and shifted out bumping DO THE MOUNTAIN on the hind quarters. Crowded for room by HOSTWIN GENERATION near the 700m.
 
DO THE MOUNTAIN – Bumped on the hind quarters at the start, became unbalanced and lost ground. Restrained off heels leaving the 700m.
 
HOSTWIN GENERATION – Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m. Shifted out bumping WEALTHY BACHELOR near the 700m and then shifted in crowding THREEPOINT MISSILE. Laid in over the concluding stages crowding MY ADELINE.
 
MY ADELINE – Crowded for room shortly after the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Crowded for room over the concluding stages by HOSTWIN GENERATION, which raced greenly under pressure.
 
SEIZETHEMOMENT – Laid in shortly after the start crowding MY ADELINE.
 
WEALTHY BACHELOR – Bumped near the 700m by HOSTWIN GENERATION, which shifted out.
 
DENCH – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Jockey C. Frater (DO THE MOUNTAIN) was reprimanded for the use of her whip on a horse out of contention.
 

Race 6: Happy 30th Birthday Anthony Stephan Class 1 Plate – 1800m
 
BECANDLENI – Slow to begin.
 
PRINCESS SPARKLES – Commenced to overrace approaching the 1600m and had to be restrained when placed in restricted room by ICHERO, which shifted in. Jockey A. Chau (ICHERO) was severely reprimanded for this incident.Restrained near the 1400m and shifted wider to avoid heels.
 
PHANTOM SHADOW – Clipped heels and blundered near the 1400m when tightened for room by ICHERO, which shifted in. Jockey A. Chau (ICHERO) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that near the 1400m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of PHANTOM SHADOW, which clipped the heels of that runner and blundered. PRINCESS SPARKLES, which was following had to be restrained and shifted wider and SPURIOUS, which was following also had to be restrained off heels in this incident. Jockey Chau’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of twelve (12) days to commence midnight 15 August 2020 and expire midnight 27 August 2020. Stewards deemed this incident in the mid-range and Jockey Chau was advised of his right of appeal.
 
SPURIOUS – Steadied near the 1400m to avoid heels.
 
MISSILE MANIA – Raced wide in the early stages. Overraced in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 7: Happy Birthday Britnie Cook Benchmark 65 Handicap – 1400m
 
JOHN BOOKE – Began awkwardly.
 
HIDDEN BUDGET – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
RIGHTEOUSNESS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Jockey G. Colless (TOOMAI) was reprimanded for using his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Jockey A. Mallyon (THE DEMTEL MAN) was dislodged on pulling up. Jockey Mallyon was subsequently examined by the QAS officers and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagement.
 
 
Race 8: The Australian Hardwood Benchmark 68 Handicap – 1100m
 
LI’L RODGE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PRINCESS JUDE – Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening SULKING.
 
SULKING – Tightened between runners on jumping.
 
DREAMING OF BISCAY – Began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with COURT RULES and lost ground as a result.
 
COURT RULES – Bumped by DREAMING OF BISCAY, which shifted out on jumping. Restrained off heels leaving the 900m.
