On returning to scale jockey N Callow, rider of the second-place getter ROGUE ROCKER, requested to view the patrol footage in order to consider an objection against first past the post GDANSK. Once reviewed jockey N Callow advised stewards that he wished to lodge a protest against the winner GDANSK for alleged interference from approximately  the 280m to the finish line. Stewards, after considering the evidence from both riders and stable representatives, were of the view that whilst in the early part of the home straight both runner shifted ground and came together, at a point near the 200m GDANSK shifted out obliging N Callow to stop riding and correct his mount. Again, approaching the 100m N Callow was obliged to stop riding ROGUE ROCKER,  when his mount was struck across its head as GDANSK continued to shift wider. Stewards, when considering the beaten margin of a half head and the interference suffered to ROGUE ROCKER, upheld the protest and declared the new numbers of 1, 5, 9, 3.
