Stewards approved the following weight variations for today’s meeting:
Race 4: DOMINIQUE - L Dittman 56.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 8: GARIBALDI – R Maloney 56.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 8: ROYAL HALE – J Orman 56.5kg (+0.5kg)
 
 
Race 1: DANNY BYCROFT'S RUMBLE IN BUNDALL Maiden Plate
2200 metres
 
ADAIR – A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg. Trainers’ representative for C Waller was advised ADAIR would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
AMERICAN PIONEER – Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
POWER PUNCH – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Raced three wide without cover from the 1200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer G Wright was advised POWER PUNCH would be stood from racing under AR79(4) for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race or trial start. Mr Wright advised Stewards he would now consider retiring POWER PUNCH from racing.
 
ROYAL GEORGE – Jumped out at the start.
 
ZOFF THE BOSS – Crowded at the start and lost ground.
 
TIGER LENY – Bumped at the start and lost ground.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Good 3, retrospective to Race 1.
 
 
Race 2: CHRISTOPHER NORRIS' SOLD ON GOLD Maiden Plate
1350 metres
 
BARONIAL – Bumped heavily at the start and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early stages and as a result had to steadied from the heels of IMMEDIATE RESPONSE near the 900m.
 
CAMPEEDO – Jumped out abruptly at the start. Jumped out abruptly at the start and checked BARONIAL.
 
CORSUCAN – Bumped at the start.
 
HILLCREST AVENUE – Began awkwardly. Near the 450m bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
 
LANDSBOROUGH LAD – Crowded at the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and lost ground. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
PUNT YOUR WAY OUT – Jumped out at the start and bumped CORSUCAN.
 
IMMEDIATE RESPONSE – Bumped at the start.
 
REEL WILD – Steadied from heels near 900m.
 
 
Race 3: PITCH.COM.AU Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
Connections of FIGURE IT OUT viewed the start of the event before taking the matter no further.
 
ALLIED COMMAND – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers. Inconvenienced at the entrance to the home straight when BLAZEN BOOTS shifted out to improve. J Collett, rider of BLAZEN BOOTS, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
BLAZEN BOOTS – Near the 400m disappointed for a run and had to be checkedwhen attempting to improve to the inside of JUDAS which shifted in when weakening.
 
COMETTI – Trainer S Dwyer (Jnr) was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider on the horse by the prescribed time.
 
FIGURE IT OUT – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
I AM AZZURRO – Jumped out at the start.
 
BOUT – Lost near hind plate in running. Taken wider rounding the home turn.
 
KINETIC – Slow to begin.
 
SWANIC BOOM – Reluctant to enter the saddling enclosure and then fractious moving onto the track. Trainer D Bougoure was advised a warning would be placed on the horse’s pre-race manners.
 
 
Race 4: MEMBER OF THE YEAR KAY WOODS QTIS Three-Year-Old
Maiden Handicap 1350 metres
 
WILLEFIRE – After being slow to begin was slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
BLUFFED – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Taken wider rounding the home turn. Checked approaching the 200 metres between JUKEBOX JURY which laid in momentarily and CUSTER’S REIN which shifted out and away from DOMINIQUE. 
 
CLUSTER'S REIN – Bumped on the hindquarters at the start when SADDLES shifted in. Rounding the home turn bumped by DOMINIQUE, became unbalanced and taken outwards. Near the 200m shifted out and away from DOMINIQUE.
 
SADDLES – After beginning awkwardly shifted in and then put in a number of awkward strides shortly thereafter and lost ground.
 
DIRTY DANCING – Hung out from the 400m and as a consequence rider L Tarrant was unable to fully test the filly over the concluding stages of the event.
 
JUKEBOX GLOW – Taken wider rounding the home turn. Laid in momentarily near the 200m.
 
DOMINIQUE – Held up rounding the home turn and then a short distance later shifted out to improve and in doing so made heavy contact with CLUSTER’S REIN which became unbalanced and was taken out. Both BLUFFED and JUKEBOX GLOW, which were racing to the outside of CLUSTER’S REIN, were taken wider on the track as a consequence. L Dittman, rider of DOMINIQUE, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
NIPPA'S NIGHTCAP – Jumped in at the start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 5: SAM REES PEDIGREES Class 3 Plate 1700 metres
 
DARING MAN – Slow to begin. Held up for some distance in the early stages of the home straight. Disappointed for a run near the 50 metres and had to be steadied.
 
BULLET HERO – Jumped in at the start. Near the 1500m when being steadied, raced ungenerously and lost ground.
 
DERANI – Crowded on jumping. Near the 1600m checked and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
HE'S VIRAL – Bumped at the start.
 
MASTER MARKO – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
ROSE BOUQUET – Crowded on jumping. Near the 1600m crowded for room and taken inwards. Near the 1500m improved onto the heels of BULLET HERO and had to be steadied. Held up on the heels of the tiring HE’S VIRAL between the 500m and the 300m. Disappointed for a run near the 50 metres and had to be steadied.
 
JIMMY THE TULIP – Jumped out at the start bumping HE’S VIRAL. Forced wider near the 1500m and was then obliged to raced three wide for the majority of the race from that point onwards.
 
 
 
Race 6: GLOBAL TURF GOLD COAST CUP 2200 metres
 
LADY SOLERNO underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2:43pm on veterinary advice after found to be lame in the off foreleg. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on LADY SOLERNO refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st HONORABLE SPIRIT – 0c win, 2c place
2nd SEAT OF POWER – 1c place
3rd BARADE – 1c place
 
Trainer R Cameron was advised LADY SOLERNO would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
BARADE – Slow to begin. Bumped and forced wider near the 500m.

KIPPAX – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
SOUTHERN STOCK – Rider L Cassidy reported he was of the opinion today’s firm surface did not suit SOUTHERN STOCK.

CONTRITION – Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Near the 500m bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

DUNHILL – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
 
 
Race 7: EVA GORDON IS THE REAL MVP BENCHMARK 68 Handicap
1200 metres
 
FASANO – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
THE DARK – Jumped out at the start. Rider B Thornton dropped his whip near the 300m.
 
TIGERTUDE – Near the 150m momentarily steadied from heels.
 
MONEY IN MY POCKET – Slow to begin.
 
YOU ARE PERSISTENT – Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 8: ATLAS GOLF SERVICES GOLDMARKET 1200 metres
 
HAUNTED – Bumped with WISDOM OF WATER on jumping.
 
WISDOM OF WATER – Bumped with HAUNTED on jumping. Rider B Loy could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ROYAL HALE – Checked shortly after the start when GARIBALDI shifted in after being bumped on the hindquarters.
 
FENDER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
EF TROOP – Raced in restricted near the 900m.
 
MUNITIONS – Tightened on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
GOGOL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
 
Race 9: THE PREZIDENT' INVITATIONAL BENCHMARK 75 Handicap
1350 metres
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, and acting under the provisions of AR214(4)(a), the judge amended the placings from 4-12-14-5 to 4-12-8-5
 
FOREIGN TERRITORY – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
RUBAMOS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
KUDU – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
LASTING KISS – As K Wilson-Taylor was to be overweight and there was no other apprentice available, Stewards permitted B Loy to ride the horse. Held up and obliged to steady from heels near the 200m.
 
LEMON DUCHESS – Declared a late scratching at 3:50pm following the track upgrade.
 
HALLOWED GIRL – Slow to begin.
