GENERAL
 
Prior to the running of race 1, the track was upgraded to a soft 5 at 5:10pm.

Race 1: TAB WE'RE ON QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400M

ARTISTIC ENDEAVOUR – Rider C. Graham reported the gelding raced greenly and may benefit with the addition of blinkers.
 
MEET GEORGE – Raced keen early.
 
LEVERAGED BUYOUT – Shifted in abruptly near the 700m. Near the 250m, shifted in whilst racing greenly.
 
SOLIDUDE – Rider A. Mallyon reported the gelding didn’t run out the distance.
 
MISHA QUEEN – Bumped on jumping. Raced keen early. Near the 250m, hampered when LEVERAGED BUYOUT (K. Wilson-Taylor), shifted in whilst racing greenly. Rider K. Wilson-Taylor was advised to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts sooner.
 
LADY WINDERMERE – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped MISHA QUEEN. Near the 700m, momentarily tightened by LEVERAGED BUYOUT, which shifted in abruptly.
 
VERONA AFFAIR – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: MARGOT MALLARD 1 YEAR MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 2213M

DAVIDEO (GB) – Began awkwardly and bumped BESTOWER. Near the 800m, became awkward on the heels of CAPRICE DES DIEUX (L. Tilley), which shifted out when not clear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Co-Trainer S. Ritchie was advised the gelding would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to trial or gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to next racing.
 
AKROTIRI (NZ) – When asked about the tactics adopted, Apprentice T. Fenlon explained last start from the wide gate, she was not able to take up a forward position and was obliged to race towards the rear. She said with a slightly better draw tonight, she expected to be more forward, however; when it appeared she would be caught wide approaching the 1600m turn, she elected to push on and cross to the lead.
 
CAPRICE DES DIEUX (FR) – Contacted the rail passing the winning post on the first occasion and again near the 1400m.
 
KHOR (NZ) – Rider R. Maloney reported the gelding would take benefit from the run.
 
OSTERMEIER – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Raced three-wide without cover from the 800m.
 
ARTFUL GIRL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Inconvenienced near the 800m.
 
BESTOWER (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. After being obliged to race wide passing the winning post on the first occasion, was ridden along to join the lead near the 1500m. Rider A. Mallyon reported his mount jumped better than expected and after being caught wide, he pressed forward to race outside the leader near the 1500m. He added he was disappointed with its finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
THE IRISH (IRE) – Near the 1500m, steadied when tightened by BESTOWER (A. Mallyon), which shifted in when not clear. Rider A. Mallyon was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
Rider L. Tilley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 800m, he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear, resulting in App C. Collis(DAVIDEO) having to take action to avoid the heels of CAPRICE DES DIEUX. L. Tilley’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 1st of June 2025 and to expire midnight 11th of June 2025. When determining penalty, account was taken of L. Tilley’s record in relation to this rule, guilty plea and the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines.
 
Race 3: MAGIC MILLIONS NATIONAL 2YO CLASSIC 1000M
 
PRINCE TYCOON – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover until the 500m.
 
MISHANI EXTREME – Shifted in at the start and bumped FINANCIALLY FAMOUS. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout.
 
AMOSU – Approaching the 700m, became awkward in its stride, shifted out and bumped DRAGONNE ROUGE before shifting back in and losing ground. Laid in under pressure and was held up for a run from the 150m until passing the 100m. Rider C. Williams reported his mount raced greenly.
 
DRAGONNE ROUGE – Near the 700m, bumped by AMOSU. Held up for clear running from the 250m until near the 150m.
 
GET READY LASS – Began awkwardly and was bumped. Approaching the 600m, steadied from the heels AMOSU.
 
FINANCIALLY FAMOUS – Dipped at the start and then was bumped by MISHANI EXTREME. Inconvenienced near the 600m.
 
SISSTAINABLE – Slow into stride and then was bumped. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
Race 4: EAST COAST ELECTRICAL QUEENSLAND QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1800M

EXPLOSIVE POWER (NZ) – Dipped shortly after the crossing.
 
THAT'S YOU – Taken in at the start. Approaching the 1400m, steadied when racing tight to the inside of SAN JOSE BOY.
 
MOR KOMPASHYN – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. When the pace of the race slackened approaching the 1000m, shifted out for a short distance before shifting back in approaching the 900m.
 
Race 5: THE DONOVAN & CO PROPERTY SPECIALISTS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD CLASS 4 PLATE 1400M

CAPTAIN FENKEL – Began awkwardly.  
 
SCUD – Raced wide throughout.
 
PASIMA – Slow to begin. Near the 200m, tightened for room to the inside of ZHENG YOU (M. Savva), which shifted in. Rider M. Savva was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
VICTORY COMMAND (NZ) – Tightened for room at the start and was bumped by ALECTRONA.
 
ALECTRONA – Shifted in at the start and bumped VICTORY COMMAND.
 
FRENCH ENDEAVOUR – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 400m until the 200m.
 
ZHENG YOU – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

Race 6: THE NOTORIOUS PUNTERS CLUB BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1200M

SPOOKY SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.  
 
BALTRAY – Trainer L. Wheeler was fined $100 pursuant to AR206 for presenting the gelding without a bit lifter. As a bit lifter was not available on-course, Stewards permitted the gelding to race without this gear.
 
CALCAREOUS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer L. Abbott was advised the gelding would now incur a 3 month ban from racing and would be required to trial or gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to next racing.
 
FLYING BIRDS – Steadied from the heels of VON BEE near the 500m.
 
HELLCIBELL – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
NORTH OF ELI – Raced wide without cover until the 500m.
 
PROVANCE – When giving ground passing the 200m, laid in.
 
CHAYSE 'N' ADAM – Began awkwardly.  
 
VOCALS – Began awkwardly.  

Race 7: TAB FASTER VISION BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP - WEIGHTS RAISED 0.5KG 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed when DONT CALL ME HONEY refused to load. Subsequently the gelding was a late withdrawal at 8:33pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on DONT CALL ME HONEY be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st place – 8c the win, 12c the place
2nd place – 9c the place
3rd place – 13c the place
 
Trainer P. Shailer was advised the gelding would require a further barrier certificate prior to next racing.
 
CHAKRA BOY – Laid out throughout.
 
ACTION KING – Trainer K. Schweida advised the gelding would be going for a spell.
 
TIKKA READY – Bumped on jumping and shifted out hampering REMLAPS ANGEL. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
ENTERPRISE LUCIA – Slow to begin. Attempted to buck shortly after the start. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised the mare would be required to Officially trial to the Stewards satisfaction prior to next racing.
 
ARISPHERE – Held up for a run from the 450m until passing the 300m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHE'S A ROGUE – Began awkwardly shifted out and bumped TIKKA READY.
 
REMLAPS ANGEL – Hampered at the start.

Race 8: TAB MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400M

DURBAN HARBOUR – Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
GLOBAL – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Near the 250m, momentarily steadied from the heels of SUGAR ISLAND, which shifted out away from SATURDAYS GIRL.
 
BOROGORU – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GLOBAL.
 
MISS HIGHFALUTIN (NZ) – Raced tight leaving the 1000m. Rider A. Jones reported her mount was disappointing and may have come to the end of its preparation. Stable representative advised it is the intention to send the filly for a spell.
 
PENSIERO – Near the 1000m, raced tight to the inside of MISS HIGHFALUTIN, which was tight to the inside of BOROGORU (R. Maloney), which shifted in when not clear. Rider R. Maloney was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
STOICISM (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
SATURDAYS GIRL – Slow to begin.
 
SCUTI – Raced four-wide without cover throughout.
 
SUGAR ISLAND – Raced wide throughout.
