RACE 1: LAST CHANCE TO RENEW MEMBERSHIPS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
MISHANI FLASH – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
DEMES GIRL – When under pressure in the home straight, laid out.
CONFISERIE (NZ) – In the middle stages, raced keenly.
PRINCESS SHANGHAI – In the early and middle stages, raced keenly when wide without cover.
THE FOUNDLING – Approaching the 700m, checked when tightened onto the rail by SCION, which in turn received tightening from its outside by DEMES GIRL (D. Smith), which was laying in. In the incident, SCION was also hampered. Stewards acknowledged the efforts made by rider D. Smith to correct his mount and took no action. Lost its off-front plate
IT'SMEYOUWANT – Approaching the 600m, got its head up when being restrained and raced ungenerously. Raced wide throughout without cover.
RACE 2: OFFICIATING FIRST FOALS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 M
BLUE WHITE BLUE – Shifted out on jumping and bumped JEANS. Held up for a run approaching the 100m before shifting to the outside of EMBOLDEN to obtain clear running.

MONTE CARLO MISS – Raced wide without cover for the majority.
PIPPIE POMAR – Began awkwardly.

YAKITORI – Approaching the 100m, momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of JEANS (D. Turner), which shifted in when not quite clear. Rider D. Turner was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a).

In the circumstances, no action was taken. Proved difficult to load, delaying the start. Trainer C. Anderson was notified the gelding was suspended from racing until a further barrier certificate is obtained. Trainer C. Anderson advised the gelding would now be sent for a spell.

MOONFLEET – For several strides near the 200m, was held up for a run before shifting to the outside of CALYX ROSE to obtain clear running.
FLY FIFER – Slow to begin. When questioned, rider R. Jamieson stated it was the intention to lead, however; as the mare was slow to leave the gates, she was obliged to ride hard in the early stages to obtain a forward position, but when it was clear that FLY FIFER would be caught wide, she elected to steady near the 1000m in an attempt to find cover. She added FLY FIFER is best ridden either leading or on the speed.
CALYX ROSE – Raced three-wide without cover from the 1100m until near the 500m.
SNEAKY RICH – Slow to begin. Raced keenly when being restrained to find cover passing the 1000m.

Goindasamy reported he was asked to be forward on the gelding and traveled well in the run, but when placed under pressure in the home straight, failed to respond and weakened from the 200m. He added SUENITO was having its third start in two weeks and may not have appreciated the continual back-up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed abrasions on its near hind bumper. Trainer V. Venkaya was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.
RACE 5: STRONGER @ AQUIS STALLIONS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 M
SOMETHING SHINY – Began awkwardly. Apprentice C. Bellamy reported the gelding raced very erratically, proved difficult to control and on several occasions checked from heels. Trainer B. Lockwood was notified a warning would be recorded against the gelding’s racing manners.
BATTLE WORTHY – Near the 700m, checked when attempting a run to the inside of SOMETHING SHINY, which had been racing ungenerously and shifted out before shifting back in. EFFIE’S JOY, which was following BATTLEWORTHY, got its head up and was also checked.

RACE 6: TAB WE'RE ON QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD & FOUR-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100 M
DEFIANT BOOM – A post-race veterinary examination determined that the gelding had bled from both nostrils. Trainer S. Kendrick was notified that in accordance with AR79(4), DEFIANT BOOM shall not without permission of the Stewards: (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse, recognised training track, private training establishment, or other place for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: (i) a gallop of at least 1000 metres; or (ii) an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.

TAKE A BOW – Hampered at the start when ANABIA shifted out. Rider L. Rolls reported despite the mare being somewhat keen early with its head up, when asked for an effort in the straight, failed to respond and raced flat. Trainer M. Hoysted stated the mare had become quite agitated in the barriers prior to the race, raced keenly early and was of the view this may explain its failure to finish the race off. He added TAKE A BOW may not have been suited to the quick thirteen day back-up and would look to space future runs. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
SUSSUSUDIO – Approaching the 900m, steadied to avoid the heels of DEFIANT BOOM (Apprentice R. Thorburn), which shifted in when not fully clear. Apprentice R. Thorburn was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a).
ANABIA – Began awkwardly and shifted out, bumping TAKE A BOW. Raced in restricted room for some distance leaving the 900m when tight to the inside of SUSSUSUDIO, which in turn was tight to the inside of PETITE PALACE (R. Jamieson). Upon inquiry, apprentice A. Graham, rider of ANABIA, acknowledged that she should have made a better effort to try to remove her mount to the inside of SUSSUSUDIO leading up to the incident and rider R. Jamieson acknowledged in the latter part of the incident, she should have given more room to the inside runners. Tightened onto the rail passing the 700m.
PORT RIVER BILLIE – Began awkwardly.
RACE 7: GCTC SPRING CARNIVAL ON SALE BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 M
CHARLOTTE'S HERE – Slow to begin. Rider K. Zechner reported the mare needs to lead in its races and if unable to do so, does not perform to its best. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

Rider D. Turner was suspended for riding in races for a period of twelve (12) days to commence midnight 07/09/2025 until midnight 19/09/2025. When assessing penalty, account was taken of his guilty plea, record and the QRIC Careless Riding penalty guidelines.
RACE 8: BECOME A GCTC MEMBER BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1800 M
