GENERAL

Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 7: 13 WAHINE GALAXY – J. Lloyd +1kg (56.5kg)
Race 7: 14 ISLE ORNSAY – B. Lerena +0.5kg (56kg)

As rider K. Matheson was not riding due to an injury, Stewards permitted the rider change(s) as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. Rider K. Matheson was advised he would require medical clearance.

RACE 1: VILLAGE ROADSHOW THEME PARKS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1800 M

RAUDKIVI (NZ) – Commenced a three wide run from the 800m and after faltering approaching the 600m, was eased out of the race. As a result, BRIEF SPIRIT, LILLY 'N' ROSE and KISS THE COSMOS (NZ) checked and CAPTAIN INSANO and STOICISM (NZ) were hampered. A veterinary examination revealed gelding to have sustained a catastrophic fracture in the near hind leg and was subsequently euthanised on humane grounds. Post-mortem samples were taken for analysis.

CAPTAIN INSANO – Bumped at the start. Hampered near the 600m.

LILLY 'N' ROSE – Checked near the 600m.

MAN TALK – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

STOICISM (NZ) – Began awkwardly and bumped with CAPTAIN INSANO. Hampered near the 600m.

LADY SANTOS – Re-saddled at the barriers. After beginning well, settled in a more forward position.

KISS THE COSMOS (NZ) – Change of tactics-attempt to settle further forward. Began awkwardly and settled towards the rear. Passing the 1700m, steadied when tightened by STOICISM (NZ), which was taken in by CAPTAIN INSANO (J. Morris). Rider J. Morris was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Checked near the 600m.

BRIEF SPIRIT – Checked near the 600m. Became unbalanced after contacting the rail near the 400m.

Following the race, rider J. Morris became indisposed.

RACE 2: SEA WORLD QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1400 M

COLD FUSION – Bumped with I'M ON FIRE at the start. Near the 900m, steadied from the heels of SHARE TRADER.

ESPADA ROPERA – Raced three wide without cover early, when keen. Passing the 700m, was bumped by DASHING MARS and became unbalanced behind.

I'M ON FIRE – Bumped with COLD FUSION at the start.

MEADE'S CAFÉ – As rider J. Morris was indisposed, he was replaced by rider N. Tomizawa.

OUR MATE LOCKY – Obliged to race wide approaching and rounding the home turn.

SAVE THE ROSES – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Tyrell advised the gelding would now be spelled.

SHARE TRADER – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly in the straight when under pressure.

I'LLTELLYOUTONIGHT – Bumped with ODE TO BEAUTY at the start. Raced keenly early.

ODE TO BEAUTY – Bumped with I'LLTELLYOUTONIGHT at the start. Rider M. Hellyer reported he had to make use of the filly early as he would have been caught wide without cover and consequently allowed ODE TO BEAUTY to stride to sit outside the leader I'LLTELLYOUTONIGHT, however; when that filly steadied, he was then obliged to lead. He added, ODE TO BEAUTY travelled well in the run, but failed to let down in the straight as expected and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

DASHING MARS – Passing the 700m, bumped with ESPADA ROPERA.

SHE CAN SOAR – Slow to begin.

RACE 3: WARNER BROS MOVIE WORLD OPEN HANDICAP 1100 M

HOLLYWOOD NORTH – Raced three wide without cover for the majority.


RALPHIE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider M. Palmer reported the gelding settled where expected, however; when placed under pressure in the straight, was disappointing. Trainer G. Doughty advised he is considering the removal of the brow band for the horse’s next start.

THE ASTRONOMER – Made the home turn awkwardly and shifted out.

TIME BANDIT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

COSMIC SERENADE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to resuming racing from an extended period.

RACE 4: TOPGOLF MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M

KING OF THE LOCHS – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly early and near the 1100m, shifted out and away from the heels of SIR WINNIE and bumped WILDSPITZE, which became badly unbalanced. Hampered near the 700m. Trainer G. Cornish was advised a warning would be placed on KING OF LOCHS for its racing manners.

SIR WINNIE – Near the 700m, contacted the running rail, became badly unbalanced when racing to the inside of TAITY, which momentarily rolled in before being corrected. As a result, SAMURAI WAND, which was following, was checked, KING OF THE LOCHS, which was racing to the outside of SIR WINNIE was hampered, rolled out and inconvenienced WILDSPITZE, which was also hampered. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.

TAITY – Trainer M. Morrison was fined $200 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Near the 900m, got its head up and steadied when racing in restricted room.

CIPHERTEXT – Rider M. Hellyer reported the horse raced keenly early.

SYMO'S BOY – In the early and middle stages, raced three wide without cover.

WILDSPITZE – Became badly unbalanced near the 1100m. Inconvenienced and hampered near the 700m.

QUEEN OF ACES – Began awkwardly, shifted in and momentarily tightened SAMURAI WAND at the start.

MOONSPELL – Slow to begin.

SAMURAI WAND – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to resuming racing from an extended period. Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Checked near the 700m. Near the 250m, shifted out abruptly under pressure before being corrected. Laid out over the concluding stages.

RACE 5: WET'N'WILD BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1800 M

FULFILLED (GB) – Began awkwardly and bumped with WONDERLAND STAR. Rider R. Wiggins could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.


WONDERLAND STAR – Bumped at the start.

BOWRIDER – Began awkwardly. Rider D. Turner reported when caught wide early and the gelding was racing keenly, he allowed it to stride to take the lead near the 1200m.

Apprentice J. Franklin pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 9 times prior to the 100m (18 in totality). Apprentice J. Franklin’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight (8) days, commencing midnight Saturday 6 September 2025, concluding midnight Sunday 14 September 2025. In assessing penalty, account was taken of his record in relation to this rule, guilty plea and the QRIC Whip Penalty Guidelines.

RACE 6: PARADISE COUNTRY CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000 M

MISHANI RENEGADE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to resuming racing from an extended period. Slow into stride.

JIMMYINTHEJUNGLE – Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the home turn. Rider K. Zechner reported the gelding did not feel comfortable in its action throughout the race. Trainer A. Campton was at a loss to explain the performance but indicated the gelding would now be going for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained an abrasion to the right hind leg. Trainer A. Campton was advised JIMMYINTHEJUNGLE would be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming racing.

RACE 7: AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK SPECTACULAR BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200 M

SYNERGY IN MOTION was declared a late withdrawal on veterinary advice at 4:05pm after becoming fractious in the tie ups, breaking free whilst being saddled and getting out onto the roadway before being caught.

On the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all bets on SYNERGY IN MOTION to be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
1st - CLICK CLICK BOOM – 15c win, 8c place.
2nd - LA SOEUR – 18c place.
3rd - WAHINE GALAXY – 16c place.

SPEED MAP – Shifted in at the start and bumped WAHINE GALAXY.

BATTLE OF VIENNA – Checked near the 900m. Approaching the 800m, got its head up when being checked from the heels of CLICK CLICK BOOM. Apprentice J. Franklin reported the gelding did not let down in the straight after receiving interference during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

WAHINE GALAXY – Bumped at the start. Laid out in the straight obliging rider J. Lloyd to stop and straighten on several occasions.

ISLE ORNSAY – Began awkwardly.

SCOUNDREL – Began awkwardly.
Apprentice O. Webb rider of CLICK CLICK BOOM pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 900m, she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of BATTLE OF VIENNA resulting in that horse being checked and losing its rightful running. Apprentice O. Webb’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of ten (10) days, commencing midnight Sunday 7th September 2025, concluding midnight Wednesday 17th September 2025. In assessing penalty, account was taken of her guilty plea, record, status as an Apprentice and the QRIC Careless Riding Guidelines.

RACE 8: VILLAGE ROADSHOW THEME PARKS BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1400 M

LIBERTY STEPS – Had difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance passing the 300m. Trainer N. McCall was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting LIBERTY STEPS to the mounting yard with the incorrect gear.

NOBLE CONQUEROR – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages with its head up. Rider D. Peisley reported the gelding, which was first up today, would be improved by the run and be better suited to races over a longer distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

STARRY EYES – Rider M. Hellyer reported his mount did not feel comfortable in its action over the concluding stages and weakened from the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed STARRY EYES to have cardiac arrythmia for the second time. Trainer C. Anderson was advised STARRY EYES would require veterinary clearance inclusive of a satisfactory echocardiography at rest, electrocardiography (ECG) at rest and at exercise, trial to the satisfaction of Stewards in an official trial or jump-out of at least 1000m and satisfactory post-trial report with the results of a cardiac auscultation performed within 15 minutes of competition of the official trial or jump-out.

ACOSTA – Near the 1100m, steadied to avoid the heels of KALUAKOI (S. Rutledge), which shifted in when not fully clear. Rider S. Rutledge was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

KALUAKOI – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

GRIPPING – Raced three wide without cover for the majority.

SARSEN – Began awkwardly. After the running of the race, it was noted the gelding had lost both hind plates.

LOYALTY COUNTS –Raced wide for the majority.
