Race 5: MAGIC MILLIONS THE DEBUT 2YO PLATE 1000M
Stewards considered an objection lodged by jockey M. Harley the rider of the second placed SAY YOU WILL against LUMBINI (T. Clark) being declared the winner, alleging interference near the 200m. Stewards after hearing evidence from the relevant parties and viewing the stewards patrol footage, were of the opinion that passing the 200m, LUMBINI shifted out to obtain clear running, contacting SAY YOU WILL, resulting in that runner becoming unbalanced and carried off its line. Stewards, bearing in mind the interference suffered to SAY YOU WILL and the 1 1/4 margin, could not be satisfied that had this incident not occurred SAY YOU WILL would have finished ahead of LUMBINI at the conclusion of the event and therefore dismissed the objection, and correct weight was given on the judges semaphored numbers.

Clark) which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey T. Clark pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 200m, he allowed his mount to shift out when there was insufficient room to improve into, carrying SAY YOU WILL out onto ADOR DJON’S which was taken into the line of SEDUCTRA which had to be checked and shifted out to avoid heels. Jockey Clark’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 20th of December 2025 and to expire midnight 30th of December 2025. When determining penalty, Stewards considered jockey Clark’s good record in relation to this rule, guilty plea and the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines.

Jockey Thornton’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 27th of December 2025 and to expire midnight 6th of January 2026. When determining penalty, Stewards considered jockey Thornton’s record in relation to this rule, guilty plea and the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines. When questioned regarding being in a forward position, apprentice J. Franklin stated that he was under no firm instructions, but after beginning well, he attempted to make use of its early gate speed and when attempting to restrain in the early part of the race to obtain cover, his mount commenced to over race whilst racing in restricted room.
