GENERAL
Race 6. SMACKEROONY - Following its win at Dalby on the 3rd of March 2026, the gelding was re-handicapped to 59kg (+1.5kg).
Race 7. TRAPEZE TORQUE - Stewards accepted the reasons from trainer T. Edmonds regarding the late declaration of rider.
RACE 1: RONDO BUILDING SERVICES FILLIES AND MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
FINAL VOYAGE – Cast both fore plates in running.
UNFAITHFUL – Slow into stride.
IRON GRACE – Jockey Y. Lewis reported the mare failed to muster speed in the early stages and in her opinion wasn’t suited to the 1000m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
REVITUP CHARLIE – Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
SHELLY'S ACE – Began awkwardly. Near the 850m, raced in restricted room contacting the running rail and had to be steadied when IRON GRACE (Y. Lewis) shifted in. Jockey Y. Lewis was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
RACE 2: PRECISION GROUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
NEVER SAY NAY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced for an extended period and was cleared to start. Checked near the 800m when BOLD BIDDER (S. Tierney) shifted in. Apprentice S. Tierney pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 800m, she made insufficient effort to prevent BOLD BIDDER from shifting in onto NEVER SAY NAY which was severely tightened for room, checked and blundered. Apprentice Tierney’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing midnight 14th March 2026 and expiring midnight 23rd March 2026. When determining penalty, Stewards considered the QRIC careless riding penalty guidelines. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
HUMPHREE BEAR – Began awkwardly.
BEAUTY BOUND – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Forced wider by BRUCKHEIMER rounding the home turn.
BOLD BIDDER – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
TARPS – Began awkwardly.
RACE 3: BLUELINE GROUP CLASSIC OPEN HANDICAP 1200 Metres
SAILOR'S SECRET – Began awkwardly.
PIVOTAL MOTION – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Leaving the 100m, inconvenienced at the heels of SAILOR’S SECRET (B. Youngberry) which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice B. Youngberry was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
HEROIC MISS – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Raced wide from the 900m.
HULKAMANIA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until shifting wider approaching the 200m.
EYE OF THE EAGLE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced during the middle stages. Raced wide throughout.
RACE 4: THE BETABOARD DELIVERY MAIDEN PLATE 1000 Metres
RAGING – Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
DRINKWATER – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 700m, improved onto heels and shifted out taking RALEWAY wider. When asked to comment on the performance, apprentice B. Youngberry advised that the gelding over raced throughout which she believes was detrimental to its finishing efforts. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
POISED TYCOON – Raced keenly in the early stages and bumped ON THE THRONE near the 850m. Held up approaching the home turn.
RALEWAY – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages and inconvenienced near the 850m. Forced wider near the 700m.
CIPHERTEXT – A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abrasion to the left hindleg and some associated swelling which was treated by the on course veterinarian.
SOMEWHERE I BELONG – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained an injury to its off-fore tendon. Trainer V. Venkaya was advised that SOMEWHERE I BELONG will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing or trialing again.
MISS WILDCAT – Held up rounding the home turn. Laid out over the concluding stages.
LUCKY ARTIE – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
ON THE THRONE – Near the 850m, bumped by POISED TYCOON and became unbalanced.
RACE 5: BAYSIDE PLASTERBOARD & BUILDING SUPPLIES QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100 Metres
QUEEN OF ACES was declared a late scratching at 3.25pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious during the loading process and reared over backwards. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on QUEEN OF ACES be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
1st BOSS MODE 7c win, 6c place
2nd DON’T DOUBT MISSY 9c place
3rd JEANS 8c place
Trainer A. Campton was advised that QUEEN OF ACES will require a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
HANDSOME TRIUMPH – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground.
JEANS – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
ODIN'S MOUNT – Reared on jumping and lost significant ground. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer R. Beaton was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
POWER AND WAR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
WRITTEN REALITY – Hampered on jumping.
YARANGA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 700m, improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
DON'T DOUBT MISSY – Hampered on jumping. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 6: WADSWORTH CONTRACTING CARNIVAL COLTS, GELDINGS & ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
KEY LEGEND – Slow to begin.
EXCELBOOM – Began awkwardly. Laid in for a short distance near the 400m. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight until the 250m. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
SMACKEROONY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after racing at Dalby on the 3rd of March 2026. Over raced during the early stages.
HERECOMESANTORINI – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
ON THE TARGET – Jockey F. Larson dropped his whip approaching the 100m.
BORDEAUX HOPPER – Began awkwardly. Brushed the running rail approaching the 700m.
RACE 7: THE KID'S CANCER PROJECT CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1400 Metres
YOSHINO – Held up for clear running from approaching the 500m until the 400m.
BLACK MINTO – Jockey J. Lloyd was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish line.
NIGHTCAPPED – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. When asked to comment, apprentice L. Martyn advised that being inconvenienced at the start and being caught wide, was detrimental on the mare’s finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
KICKATINALONG – Began awkwardly.
GALEKA – Brushed the running rail near the 1000m.
MERCHANT LADY – Slow into stride.
TRAPEZE TORQUE – Restrained shortly after the start.
SMELTER (IRE) – Inconvenienced shortly after the start. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the reasons jockey D. Boutet left the course without permission.
NEOCLASSICISM – Bumped on jumping.
Stewards have adjourned an inquiry into an incident shortly after the start involving NEOCLASSICISM (T. Brooker), NIGHTCAPPED (L. Martyn), SMELTER (D. Boutet) and BLACK MINTO (J. Lloyd).
