SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Sunshine Coast 13/3/26
 
Race 7 – SPOOKY SPIRIT - Trainer K. Kemp subsequently reported that he is satisfied with the gelding post-race and intends to continue with its preparation.
 
 
 
GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweight:
 
Race 7: Rider S. Cormack +0.5kg (54.5kg) 
 
 
Trainer J. Healy was fined $200 pursuant to LR36(6) for failing to scratch CHALICE WELL, which was a dual acceptor, before the prescribed time.
 
 

RACE 1: CALL LOGIC BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1100M
 
 
BLITZBURG – Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
RALPHIE – Trainer G. Doughty advised that it would be the intention to race further forward if circumstances permit. Raced midfield and three-wide with cover throughout.
 
ACRES AWAY – Had difficulty obtaining clear running when entering the home straight and was obliged to shift out to improve.
 
FIRST MISSION – Began awkwardly. Rider M. Rodd reported that in his opinion, the gelding became lost when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer K. Schweida advised a change of gear may be considered prior to its next start.
 
PROVANCE – Began awkwardly.
 
FRAGILE LOVE – Obliged to steady shortly after jumping away when racing in restricted room.
 
GREYZOUS – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider D. Moor reported that in his opinion the mare wasn’t suited to racing at the rear of the field and when placed under pressure, failed to make ground on the leaders. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
CHALICE WELL – Rider T. Brooker reported her mount settled further back than anticipated and may not have appreciated todays racing surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
BRUCKHEIMER – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 2: FRESCO CHEESE CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 M
 
ABENDER – Shifted in on jumping and bumped MISS DE MEDICI.
 
KING OF MINTO – Began awkwardly. Rider D. Turner reported that his mount lunged at the gates prior to the start being effected and was subsequently slow to begin, further adding that the gelding may not have appreciated todays track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
DOMINANT DARCY – Held up for clear running in entering the home straight.
 
AMUSEANTES – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SWIFT DUKE – Obliged to steady when racing in restricted room passing the 100m between JUST PRECIOUS and SPIETHTACULAR which shifted out under riding. Apprentice Rider C. Baker was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) and advised to stop riding and straighten earlier when shifting ground. 
 
MISS DE MEDICI – Bumped at the start. Hampered and carried in passing the 700m by ABENDER which shifted in to obtain a position one off the fence.
 
 
RACE 3: MENCARTHY PUB GROUP BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 2050 M
 
BENGAL BOY – Was obliged to alter course on entering the home straight to avoid the heels of ROCK HARD LOVE which was carried out by ZHENG YOU which was forced wider by PRINCE LEVI (M. Du Plessis) which shifted out to obtain clear running. Rider M. Du Plessis was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a).
 
ROCK HARD LOVE – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
ROLLER COASTER (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Passing the 100m, had to be checked when racing in restricted room between LA ROSETTA which shifted in marginally and LOVEY DOVEY (A. Mallyon) which shifted out under pressure. Rider A. Mallyon was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.
 
DIANA'S AFFAIR – Lost its off-fore plate upon arrival at the track and was reshod prior to the race.  
 
PUNJABI LANDING – Slow to begin and lost ground. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the winning post on the first occasion when ROCK HARD LOVE shifted in before being corrected.
 
LOVEY DOVEY – Slow to begin and lost ground. Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the winning post on the first occasion when ROCK HARD LOVE shifted in before being corrected. Had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 400m.
 
LA ROSETTA – Over-raced passing the 1600m when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
 
RACE 4: CORPSURE INSURANCE BROKING CLASS 6 PLATE 1400 M
 
HULKAMANIA – Held up on entering the home straight until entering the 250m.
 
CASTILLIAN (NZ) – Shifted in on jumping.
 
RHAPSODY CHIC (NZ) – Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
 
I'M HEROIC – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
BOOM SHOT – Rider M. Harley reported that in his opinion, his mount was not suited to todays track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
HEAVENLY IMPACT – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
SENESCHAL (IRE) – Slow to begin. Rider B. Thompson reported the gelding weakened noticeably under pressure, however could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised SENESCHAL would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards. Trainer S. Kendrick advised stewards he would have the horse scoped and would report back to stewards in the days subsequent.
 
SULTRY SIREN – Shortly after jumping away, was momentarily inconvenienced when racing in restricted room. Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
 
 
RACE 5: ISLE OF CAPRI WINE & BEER OPEN HANDICAP 1000 M
 
TALTARNI FIELDS – Rider C. Graham reported that in her opinion, her mount was not suited to todays shifting surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Began awkwardly.

HE'S HEAVEN – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider T. Marshall reported that in his opinion, his mount didn’t appreciate todays track conditions.

HIDDEN MELODY – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 500m until entering the home straight.
 
FLAMING CONQUEST – Laid out under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
 
RACE 6: AQUIS QTIS JEWEL 2YO 1200M
 
FINAL CRUSADE – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
SNIPER BOOM – Slow to begin.
 
SWIFT DRAGON – Was obliged to shift out passing the 800m after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of EDDINGTON which was hampered when racing in restricted room. Rider R. Wiggins was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive strides before the 100m.
 
EDDINGTON – Passing the 800m, was momentarily inconvenienced when racing in restricted room between IT'SALL ABOUT MARY and FINAL CRUSADE which shifted out. Raced in restricted room over the final 50m and was unable to be fully tested to the line.

ESPERANZA – Over-raced in the early stages and passing the 800m, was carried wider on the track by SWIFT DRAGON which became awkwardly placed on the heels of EDDINGTON which raced in restricted room for a short distance.
 
THE AUTUMN AFFAIR – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight, was disappointed for a run when shifting out passing the 250m and passing the 50m, was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running.
 
BRAVE ETOILE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
IT'SALL ABOUT MARY – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
ANDER'S DREAM – Passing the 1000m was momentarily inconvenienced when carried to a position closer to the rial by SWIFT DRAGON, which shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
 
RACE 7: LUCKY CLOVER THOROUGHBREDS THE GOLD JEWEL 1400 M
 
SEA KING (GB) – Bumped at the start.
 
HATCHET – Bumped at the start. Passing the 1200mm, had to check to avoid heels of BATTLEFIELD (L. Dempsey) which shifted in. Rider L. Dempsey pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 1200m, he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of HATCHET, as a result HATCHET had to check to avoid heels. L. Dempsey’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight (8) days, commencing midnight 14/03/2026 and concluding midnight 22/03/2026. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
ANEMACORE (NZ) – Hampered on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
BATTLEFIELD – Began awkwardly, shifted in and hampered ANEMACORE.
 
REDFORD – Passing the 700m, obliged to steady when racing to the inside of JOHN RAMBO which was carried in by POCKET FULL (C. Collis). Rider C. Collis was advised to exercise care in similar circumstances,
 
RED DEFCON – Obliged to steady on straightening to avoid the heels of SAMMY CONQUERS ALL (Apprentice J. McMurray) which shifted in. Apprentice Rider J. McMurray pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that passing the 400m, he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of RED DEFCON, as a result, RED DEFCON had to check to avoid heels. Apprentice J. McMurray’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days, commencing midnight 21/03/2026 and concluding midnight 30/03/2026.
 
CHIEF IN CHARGE – Laid in under pressure for a short distance leaving the 600m.
 
JOHN RAMBO – Passing the 1100m, raced in restricted room to the inside of POCKET FULL which shifted in to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
 
RACE 8: ST JOHN'S CRISIS CENTRE QTIS JEWEL 3YO 1200 M
 
CALL DA VINCI – Laid in under pressure in the home straight and passing the 100m, was obliged to stop and straighten his mount.
 
EARN TO BURN – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped CRYPTIC BEAUTY. Raced three-wide throughout. Rider R. Maloney reported that his mount didn’t appreciate todays shifting surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer J. Bruce advised EARN TO BURN would continue with its current prep, but will report back on the condition of the gelding in the days subsequent.

SATISFIED MUGS – Bumped at the start. Raced three-wide throughout.  
 
SAXOBUSHI – Approaching the 1000m, was severely hampered, clipping the heel of FORGOTTEN SPIRIT which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Raced three-wide throughout.  
 
HUNTER'S MATE – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
GALACTIC STAR – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FORGOTTEN SPIRIT – Raced three-wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight
 
CASINO BAY – Raced in restricted room for a considerable distance leaving the 900m to the inside of STRIKE WEAPON (R. Wiggins) which was improving to the outside. Rider R. Wiggins was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is fully clear when crossing. Continued to over-race in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Stable representative Mr. Leech was advised to report back to stewards on the filly’s condition.
 
CRYPTIC BEAUTY – Bumped at the start. Raced three-wide throughout.  
 
DON'TCHA LUV'ER – Shifted in on jumping and bumped SATISFIED MUGS. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Trainer J. Bruce reported that the filly will be sent for a spell.  
 
PINK VIXEN – Passing the 700m, commenced to shift in whilst over-racing.
 
FABULEAN – Inconvenienced shortly after jumping away.
 
STRIKE WEAPON – Rider R. Wiggins was fined $100 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip in consecutive strides before the 100m.   
 
 
RACE 9: TAB MILITARY ROSE PLATE 1200 M
 
CONSIDERED – Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
DREAM SMART – Raced three-wide throughout.  
 
CHERRY ROSE – Shifted in on jumping and bumped SIGNATURE TART.
 
SCUD – Approaching the 900m, was carried wider after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of MARGOT’S DEEL
 
ZOUBABY – Slow to begin. Was obliged to steady leaving the 900m to avoid the heels of CHERRY ROSE (D. Turner) which shifted in to a position closer to the rail. Rider D. Turner was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.  
 
GOSPEL GIRL – Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Rider M. Harley could offer no explanation for todays disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.  
 
SIGNATURE TART – Bumped at the start.
 
 
RACE 10: THE THOROUGHBRED GIRLS GOLD COAST STAKES 1800 M
 
SIBAAQ (GB) – Apprentice J. Franklin reported that he became concerned with the action of SIBAAQ when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
TAJANIS (IRE) – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
 
DEMON DARB – Bumped at the start.
 
ZOOLOGY (GB) – Slow to begin.
 
QUOTHQUAN – Rider D. Turner could offer no explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
 
QUEEN AIR – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped DEMON DARB. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
FELIX THE SCAT – Raced in restricted room for a short distance passing the 1500m to the inside of QUEEN AIR which over-raced and in
