GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following overweight:
Race 5: D. Turner +1kg (55kg)  
 

RACE 1: ACCURATE ROAD PROFILING SERVICES MAIDEN PLATE 1200M

FUTURE HERO – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
HE IS THE KISS – Leaving the 1000m steadied to avoid the heels of STEPLIKA LION (B. Larena), which shifted in when not fully clear. Rider B. Larena was advised to exercise greater care. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
REVANTAS – Began awkwardly. Near the 100m raced in restricted room between STEPLIKA LION and FUTURE HERO, which laid in under pressure.
 
ROTATE – Underwent a veterinary examination after not having raced for an extended period of time. Slow into stride. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SEA WARNING – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
SHAQUE D'AMOUR – Laid out from the 500m.
 
FRENCH RIVIERA – Rider S. Cormack reported the mare did not feel right in its action when pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
LONG LIVE THE CAT – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. A post- race veterinary examination revealed blood in the mouth due to a laceration to the tongue.
 
THE HOPESTAR – Rider L. Dempsey was reminded of his obligations with his use of the whip on horses, when out of contention.

RACE 2: THE LOOSE MOOSE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD FILLIES MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
 
EGYPTIAN GODDESS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.  
 
LADY MILAN – Raced keenly with its head up in the early and middle stages. Passing the 1000m steadied from the heels of HURKLE DURKLE (App B. Youngberry), which shifted in when not clear. Apprentice B. Youngberry was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding.
 
MISHANI UNDERCOVER – Slow to begin.
 
PACIERA – Began awkwardly. Passing the 1000m steadied when tightened by QUEEN JEDDAH, which was laying in and away from REGAL RINA. All riders involved were advised to exercise as much care as possible in similar circumstances.
 
QUEEN JEDDAH – Began awkwardly.
 
REGAL RINA (NZ) – Slow into stride.
 
THRASH A BULLY - Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
ZOUBUCA SHOTS – When under pressure in the straight, raced greenly.

RACE 3: SILVERCHEF QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD COLTS AND GELDINGS MAIDEN PLATE     1200 M
 
ENGLISH CONQUEROR – Began awkwardly.
 
JAKEBRAKE – Tightened for room shortly after the start. For a short distance passing the 900m, raced with its head up.
 
KING OF VALHALLA – Raced keen early.
 
MEASURE OF TIME – Bumped on jumping.
 
POWER AND WAR –Leaving the 1000m steadied when awkwardly placed on the heels of ENGLISH CONQUEROR. Near the 700m raced tight to the inside of TRIP HAZARD, which was laying in. Near the 50m momentarily steadied when close to the heels of TRIP HAZARD. Approaching the winning post steadied when close to the heels of TRIP HAZARD.
 
TEXAS – Bumped on jumping. Approaching the 100m steadied when VINTAGE VIBES (J. Lloyd), shifted in. Rider J. Lloyd was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for careless riding.
 
THE BATAVIA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TRIP HAZARD – When under pressure over the final 100m shifted ground.
 

RACE 4: MERMAID SURF CLUB BENCHMARK 75 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
HIDDEN MELODY - Began awkwardly.
 
RALPHIE – Near the 350m checked when disappointed for a doubtful run to the inside KING OF NAPLES.
 
KING OF NAPLES – Rider F. Larson reported the gelding travelled comfortably throughout, however; failed to respond to his riding from the 500m and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
 
BLITZBURG – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Laid in from the 600m and near the 400m when being corrected, shifted out several horses before being again corrected. Apprentice L. Martyn was reminded of her obligations to ride all her mounts out to the end of the race, when possible.
 
ALLOUTATIME – Raced keen early. Near the 1000m bumped the hindquarters of KING OF NAPLES. Rider C. Collis reported the mare travelled comfortably throughout, however; when asked for an effort in the home straight, proved disappointing.
 
YENDY - Began awkwardly.
 
COUNT NICHOLAS – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Approaching and rounding the home turn was held up for a run.

RACE 5: NERANG RSL OPEN HANDICAP 1400M
 
THE RIGHT WAY (NZ) – Shortly after the start steadied when racing in restricted room.
 
CRANKY HARRY – Near the 700m steadied from the heels of YOSHINO (D. Turner), which shifted in when not clear. Rider D. Turner was advised to exercise greater care. Made the home turn awkwardly.
 
BADGERS NUTS (NZ) – Near the 900m shifted out and raced in restricted room between CRANKY HARRY and YOSHINO.
 
GALANO – Began awkwardly.
 
MISSISSIPPI PRINCE – Trainer B. Gray explained with the blinkers back on today it was expected the gelding would take up a forward position. Trainer B. Gray was reminded of his obligations regarding any proposed change of tactics.
 
YOSHINO – Began awkwardly. Taken wider by BADGERS NUTS near the 900m and raced wide until the 700m.

RACE 6: KURRAWA SURF CLUB CLASS 1 HANDICAP         1800 M
 
USE YOUR ILLUSION – Began awkwardly. Bumped by BRAIN WAVE near the 400m.
 
LOCH AWE – Rider D. Peisley reported the gelding did not let down as expected and was somewhat disappointing.
 
RIGHTEOUS LEGEND – Rider A. Butler reported his mount raced keen in the lead.
 
BRAIN WAVE – When being held up approaching the home turn, bumped USE YOUR ILLUSION.
 
GYPSY WISH – After leaving the enclosure was reluctant to go to the start. Trainer N. Luke was advised a warning will be placed on the filly for its pre-race behaviour. Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Over the final 100m raced in restricted room to the inside of USE YOUR ILLUSION (G. Cartwright) and approaching the winning post steadied. Rider G. Cartwright was advised to exercise greater care.  
 
CAVARETTA – Crowded for room on jumping.
 
CRYSTAL GARDEN – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed mild abrasions to the off-hind leg.
 
FLOP SHOT - Crowded for room on jumping. Raced keen early. Approaching 200m, eased when held up for a run until approaching the 100m.
 

RACE 7: ARPS 10YR ANNIVERSARY RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 HANDICAP 1015M
 
WAYBURN   Jett Newman – Approaching the 100m shifted in when racing close to the heels of CIPHERTEXT, which shifted in slightly.
 
DON'T TELLYAFATHER – Change of tactics – From the wide gate look for cover. Began awkwardly and settled towards the rear.
 
MISS MCLAREN – Raced keen in the lead.
 
CONFORMITY - Began awkwardly. When under pressure in the final 200m laid in.
 
ZOOMED - Began awkwardly. Near the 150m laid in towards the rail and put in an awkward stride.
 
BLINKED – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn. Over the final 100m laid out under pressure.
 
CAT CALL - Leaving the 900m steadied when tightened for room inside MISS MCLAREN, which shifted in despite the efforts of App B. Youngberry to correct the mare. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Cast its off-fore plate in the running.

RACE 8: PROFILING, IT'S WHAT WE DO! CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200M

BOTANICA – Blundered on jumping. Rider K. Yoshida reported the gelding would take benefit from the first up run. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
 
SCHEHERAZADE – Raced three wide until the 700m.
 
VORKUTA – Approaching the 400m was bumped by MAURRAQA. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
READY TO IGNITE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced keenly approaching the 900m and laid out. Held up rounding the home turn.

IMMEDIATE – When asked about the mare leading Apprentice L. Martyn said she had been instructed to be in a forward position and when crossing & wide, pressed forward to lead. Stable representative for Trainer T. Gollan confirmed the instructions, noting the mare had been successful when leading in its previous preparation, although had not done so in its current preparation. Stable representative was advised a reprimand would be issued against Trainer T. Gollan for failing to notify of the instructions that would in effect see that IMMEDIATE was to be ridden in a manner different to how the mare was ridden at its most recent starts (AR100(1)(a)).
 
IN GREAT SPIRIT – Raced keen early.
 
LUCKY LASS – Began awkwardly.
