Stewards approved the following overweight allowance at today’s meeting:
Race 2 – JOHNNY THE FOX – B. Wheeler +0.5kg (56.5kg)
 
Trainer A. Chau was fined $100 pursuant to LR36(6)(a) for failing to scratch dual acceptor SOLIDUDE by the prescribed time. (Withdrawn day after acceptances).
 
Rider B. Wheeler was reprimanded pursuant to AR127(1) for failing to fulfill a riding engagement on CHILLI MARGARITA, as he was dually engaged in race 2.
 
Race 1 - CONGRATULATIONS BEVAN LAMING QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400M
 
DARK MARTIAN – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

PAC FAIR – Began awkwardly. Bumped with RADOMIR approaching the 300m.
 
TED LASSO – Held up from approaching the 400m until passing the 300m.
 
RADOMIR (NZ) – Bumped approaching the 300m.
 
SYRINX – Began awkwardly.
 
TISANI JAMES – Slow to begin and crowded for room shortly thereafter. Raced keen early.
 
MISS INFORMED – Began awkwardly, shifted in and crowded TISANI JAMES.


Race 2 - THE INDUSTRY SCHOOL MAIDEN PLATE 1000M
 
MAGIC INVADER – Began awkwardly.
 
VAREJAO – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced for an extended period of time.
 
CARDONETTE – Near the 800m, raced in restricted room between VAREJAO and MAGIC INVADER (M. Hellyer), which after initially being crowded by JOHNNY THE FOX, continued to race tight to the outside. Rider M. Hellyer was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Near the 600m, was hampered and eased when crowded between VAREJAO and SHAQUE D’AMOUR (B. El-Issa,) despite a late attempt to correct his mount. Rider B. El-Issa was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.

CHILLI MARGARITA – Passing the 700m, laid in onto the rail and checked.
 
DUCHESS DIFFICULT – Near the 700m, shifted in and tightened KRASAKI onto CHILLI MARGARITA before being corrected. Apprentice F. Sandkuhl was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
TSZINSI – Began awkwardly and bumped POISED TYCOON.
 
POISED TYCOON – Bumped on jumping.
 
KRASAKI – Tightened for room near the 700m.


Race 3 - POCO VINO @ PINK RIBBON BOOK NOW RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1730M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight trainer J. Bellamy viewed the Stewards patrol footage of the start.

ALL ABOUT ARTIE – Rider J. Franklin could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance other than the gelding may not have backed up from its last start at the Gold Coast on the 5th of September 2026. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
CHAYSE 'N' PENNY – Fractious in the barriers and when the start was effected, began very awkwardly and lost ground (3L). Trainer J. Bellamy was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.
 
MONTE CARLO MISS – Held up for a run from passing the 500m until approaching the 250m.
 
HE IS THE KISS – Laid in when under pressure in the home straight.
 
WHISKY TRAIN (NZ) – Slow to begin.


Race 4 - GAVIN PEDLER MEMORIAL CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400M
 
On arrival at the barriers, GOING TO THE SUN had another set of blinkers fitted. Trainer W. King was advised to ensure all gear used was to an acceptable standard.
 
SLIPPIN' JIMMY – Apprentice A. McColm could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  


Race 5 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY STACCA 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1200M
 
PUROSANGUE – Trainer K. Clarke-Peoples was fined $100 pursuant to AR65(1) for failing to present the gelding’s thoroughbred identification card. Made the home turn awkwardly and carried LA PROFECIA wider.
 
CHIBA – Began awkwardly and bumped with LA PROFECIA.
 
EXCESSOR – Raced keen in the early and middle stages.
 
LA PROFECIA – Began awkwardly and bumped with CHIBA. Carried wider rounding the home turn. Rider G. Cartwright reported the gelding would be better suited to being ridden further back with cover.
 
HOMERIC – Near the 900m, checked after improving into doubtful running to the inside of CHIBA, which was laying in away from EXCESSOR, which was racing keen & placed in restricted room to the inside of CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS, which was racing ungenerously and momentarily shifted in. In all the circumstances, Rider B. El-Issa (HOMERIC) was notified he must be more aware of taking such runs and to read the circumstances of how the race is playing out. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Rider B. El-Issa was reminded of his obligation to ride all his mounts to the end of the race, where possible.
 
THE OPPORTUNIST – Raced ungenerously early with its head up.
 
WILDSPITZE – Began awkwardly.
 
CHAMPAGNE PROBLEMS – Raced keen early with its head up. Rider A. Thompson reported his mount began better than expected and settled further forward.


Race 6 - TOOLEY’S MEMORIAL CLASS 3 PLATE 1800M

MISHANI WITNESS – Began awkwardly and bumped with POWER REECE.
 
SOLIDUDE – Apprentice M. Apel reported the gelding raced keen in the early and middle stages and consequently failed to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
DEEMEE (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having not raced for an extended period.
 
HE'S A SAINT (NZ) – Rider F. Larson reported the gelding laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
POWER REECE – Bumped at the start with DEEMEE. Rider G. Cartwright reported the mare is better suited when racing in the lead without being challenged.
 
STORMSTOUT – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from approaching the 400m until near the 250m.


Race 7 - LAINEY LONERAGAN CUP CLASS 1 PLATE 1400M

SMASHING NOVA – Raced keen early.
 
DIVINE JUSTICE – Began awkwardly.
 
LOVE TO TORQUE – Raced three wide without cover in the middle stages.
 
MYTHOLOGY – Carried wider by SOCIAL PARIAH (D. Peisley) approaching and rounding the home turn. Rider D. Peisley was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.
 
PERCOLATE – Began awkwardly.
 
SOCIAL PARIAH – Commenced to shift out from the rail approaching the 500m and in so doing carried MYHTOLOGY wider.
 
CAESAR CAKE – Rider A. Keeley reported his mount hung out in the home straight and consequently, he eased the mare down from the 100m. Trainer G. Forge was advised a warning would be placed on the mare (hung out).


Race 8 - TAB BM65 HANDICAP 1200M

FLYING VENTO - Rider K. Zechner reported the gelding was not suited to the track conditions.
 
SUM INVICTUS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after having raced at Ipswich 9th September. Approaching the 1100m steadied and shifted in across the heels of CHILLWACK.
