GENERAL
 
As Apprentice J. Williams was unavailable, he was replaced as per the race day summary.
 
As rider J. Bayliss was delayed in traffic he was replaced in Race One by Les Tilley.
 
Trainer I. Turner was fined $200 pursuant to LR36(6) for failing to scratch RUBOLOGY, which was a dual acceptor, by the prescribed time.
 
Stewards approved the following overweights:
Race 7: J. Guthmann-Chester +0.5kg (56)
Race 9: B. Thornton +0.5kg (56)
 
Race 1 - APG WORKFORCE 0 - 65 HANDICAP         1400 M
 
PRINCE CHARGE (NZ) – Raced keen early.

SPEED MAP - Raced keen in the lead.
 
SWIFT DUKE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Rider J. Guthmann-Chester reported the gelding raced keen early, however; was disappointing in its finishing efforts and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be short stepping in front. Trainer B. Ahrens was advised a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again. Trainer B. Ahrens advised the gelding will go for a freshen up.
 
YES DONALD YES - Held up momentarily entering the home straight.
 
BAD BOSS – Near the 150m was momentarily awkward on the heels on the RHETORIC, when taken out slightly by the SUZE SPRITZ.
 
GLOUNTHAUNE (IRE) – Began awkwardly.
 
RHETORIC - Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
THE TORQUE XPRESS – When giving ground approaching the 100m, steadied to avoid the heels of YES DONAL YES (C. Graham). Rider C. Graham was reprimanded purusant to AR131(a) for shifting ground when not clear.
 
SUZE SPRITZ – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

EXCEED PERFECTION – Raced wide early.   

VENDEMMIA (NZ)  - Passing the 1000m steadied to avoid the heels of BAD BOSS (B. Thornton), which shifted in. Rider B. Thornton was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Raced three wide with cover throughout.


Race 2 - KOLLOSCHE QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP          1400 M

MARIA CLARA – Raced keen early and near the 1000m got its head up when being steadied from the heels WEOWNACHEVY. Rider R. Maloney reported his mount raced flat.
 
MURKADO   - Slow to begin and then tightened between STAR OF THE BAR, which shifted out and I’M NOT HERE, which shifted in.
 
WEOWNACHEVY– Near the 1000m checked and lost ground.
 
CYBER BOOM – Apprentice J. McMurray reported his mount failed to respond to his riding and weakened under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Heathcote was notified CYBER BOOM would be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again for the poor performance.
 
IN THREE DEE – Held up for clear running approaching the home turn.
 
STAR OF THE BAR - Began awkwardly and shifted out. Trainer D. Forster reported it was her intention to remove the nose roll at its next start, in an attempt to get the filly to settle.
 
I'M NOT HERE – Began awkwardly and shifted in.

Rider T. Fenlon pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in near the 1000m when not clear, resulting in crowding to inside runners, with CYBER BOOM being carried in onto WEOWNACHEVY, which checked and lost its rightful running. MARIA CLARA, which was following, steadied. Rider T. Fenlon’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight (8) days to commence midnight September 19th 2026 and ending midnight September 27th 2026. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the QRIC Careless Riding Penalty Guidelines.

Race 3 - SIMMONS LIVINGSTONE & ASSOCIATES BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP      2200 M
 
TAPILDOODLEDO (NZ) – Near the 1900m became badly unbalanced and checked when tightened by CAPTAIN MAVERICK, which shifted in despite the efforts of rider R. Maloney to correct his mount. In the circumstances, no action was taken.
 
CAPTAIN MAVERICK (IRE) – Presented to race with hoof filler in both fronts. Stable representative B. Killion was reminded of the stable’s obligations to update horse gear changes. Held up for a short distance approaching the 400m.

THAT'S MOLLY - Laid out approaching and rounding the home turn. After the race, was noted to have lost its near hind plate post-race.
 
ROGUERY   - Rider D. Moor reported the gelding would be better suited when ridden slightly further back. Stable representative for the M. Dunn stable undertook to report back to Stewards in the subsequent days, if anything comes to light that may have affected the performance of the gelding.
 
BARCELO - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious in the race day tie ups.
 
ARTFUL GIRL – For a short distance approaching the 400m raced in restricted room.
 
TARAVIA (NZ) - Rider C. Graham reported the gelding was not suited to the track conditions.
 
TRIPLE TIME - Slow to begin. Rider J. Taylor reported the gelding hung out from the 800m and may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer A. Chau confirmed the gelding would now be spelled. Trainer A. Chau was notified TRIPLE TIME would be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

It was noted that a Sky camera operator, who filmed the start, remained in close proximity to the running rail as the horses passed the 400m. This was addressed with Sky Channel and advised in future, they are to retreat to a safe distance away from the course proper.

Race 4 - CRONIN MILLER LITIGATION BM70 HANDICAP          1200 M
 
LIM'S SHAVANO – Began awkwardly.   
 
DARK ARTS - Held up for a short distance near the 300m, then steadied and shifted into clear running. 
 
MOSCOW CIRCUS - Presented to race with hoof filler in both fronts. Stable representative for trainer M. Dunn was reminded of the stables obligations to update horse gear changes.
 
STRADA VARENNA – Apprentice B. Youngberry reported after beginning well and with little effort, the mare settled further forward then in recent starts.

SHOW 'EM HOWL  - Began awkwardly. Apprentice A. Roper was reminded to ride her mounts out fully to the line, where possible.      
 
ROSE OF SHIRAZ  - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for an extended period. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
CANAL - Slow into stride.



Race 5 - QUINN FAMILY LAW CLASS 6 HANDICAP  1700 M
 
NORTH POLE was declared a late withdrawal at 2:52pm acting on veterinary advice, after being kicked by BRINGME behind the gates.
 
Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on NORTH POLE, be refunded in full, with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st PRECISE STAR         20c win 5c place
2nd NAVAL SEAL            30c place
3rd ROCK HARD LOVE  29c place
 
Trainer K. Schweida was advised a veterinary certificate would be required prior to racing again.
 
BRINGME - Fractious in the horse stall area; and behind the gates, kicked out contacting NORTH POLE. Trainer A. Freeman was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its pre-race behavior. Raced wide early, before being allowed to stride to sit off the lead near the 1200m. Apprentice C. Baker reported she had to make use of the gelding early to avoid being caught wide and when placed under pressure in the straight, her mount failed to respond, adding the efforts early to obtain a position may have had an affect on the horse’s performance. She further added the gelding may be better suited to lower grade races. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. 

THINKHARDANDFAST     - Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this race at 3.02pm, the track was upgraded to a Good 3.
 
 
Race 6 - K2 LAW NO METRO WINS HANDICAP        1000 M
 
Prior to the declaration Trainer B. Hull and rider J. Guthmann-Chester (PORT ERIN) viewed the Stewards’ patrol footage before deciding not to lodge an objection.
 
Correct weight was delayed, to allow Stewards to review the patrol footage of the start. Upon reviewing the available footage, it was established that after the start had been effected, THE FIXER lunged forward, contacted the front barrier partitions, causing the gates to open momentarily ahead of the remainder of the field. As a result, THE FIXER obtained a slight margin on the field; however, Stewards were satisfied that the gelding ultimately obtained no unfair advantage from the incident. Subsequently, correct weight was declared on the Judge’s numbers.
 
MOSKEETA - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for an extended period. Began awkwardly and then bumped by PORT ERIN, which shifted in.
 
THE FIXER   - Began awkwardly.
 
PORT ERIN  - Began awkwardly and shifted in. Near the 650m steadied when racing in restricted room between PALEFACE RINGO, which initially had shifted out slightly and SPIRIT OF BARTY, which was laying in away from MEDALS (App. J. McMurray), which was shifting in when not clear. In all the circumstances Apprentice J. McMurray was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding and told he must be sufficiently clear when shifting ground.

GREYZOUS - Slow to begin.
 
THRASH A BULLY  - Began awkwardly.


Race 7 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH OPEN HANDICAP ** WEIGHTS RAISED 1KG** 1400 M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Trainer T. Pollard and rider C. Graham (KINTYRE) viewed the Official Photo Finish.
 
GRAND IMPACT (NZ) - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainers M. Price & M. Kent Jnr were advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate prior to racing again.
 
SPACE TRACKER (IRE) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WARBY – Slow to begin. Held up for a run from the 400m until passing the 300m, before shifting to the inside of SOVERATO to obtain clear running. Rider D. Moor reported after not beginning well his mount settled further back then intended.
 
BOOM TORQUE – Apprentice B. Youngberry was reprimanded purusant to AR132(7)(a)(i) for using her whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
 
THE DROVER - Race wide until passing the 800m.


Race 8 - SKY RACING COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES BM78 HANDICAP   1400 M
 
LUPINE (NZ) - Raced keen in the early and middle stages when close to heels.
 
DETRIMENTAL – Began awkwardly.     
 
BINGI - Change of tactics; to be ridden conservatively. Settled midfield.
 
RUBOLOGY - Began awkwardly. Raced keen early and passing the 1200m, checked when improving into tight running to the inside of REZONE.



Race 9 - ZARRAFFA'S COFFEE PINK RIBBON CUP FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP    1400 M

TORNADO EXPRESS – Late withdrawal at 12:20pm after the mare was found to be sore in front. Trainer B. Gray was notified the mare would require a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing again.

LADY SHOTGUN - Slow to begin.
 
HURRICANE LU – Rider M. Rodd reported the mare was not suited by the fast early tempo and when the leaders sprinted on straightening, was left somewhat flat -footed. He added when HURRICANE LU balanced up, the mare worked to the line well. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
LA ROSETTA – Began awkwardly, with its head up. Apprentice B. Youngberry reported after not beginning the best, the mare raced somewhat ungenerously, constantly getting its head up in the early and middle stages; and when asked for an effort on straightening, was left flat-footed when the leaders sprinted and failed to run on as expected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  
 
RUN LUCY RUN – Change of tactics: settle further forward if mare begins well. Led.
 
CREDIT CONTROLLER    - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Trainer S. Manwarring was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
RATENOTICE - Raced three wide without over until the 800m.
 
ATOMIC SELFIE - Change of tactics; settle further back with cover. Settled at the rear. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.


Race 10 -- DREAMWEAVERS BM85 HANDICAP       1200 M
 
FABULANTES  - Passing the 50m shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
SURPRISE HONEY - Raced three-wide without cover throughout.

GOSPEL GIRL – Raced three-wide with cover, for the majority.
