As Jockey D Evans was not riding at the meeting due to illness, rider replacements were made as per the Stewards Summary.
Race 1: Carlton Mid Maiden Plate- 850 metres
Delightful Adobe- Jumped awkwardly.
Trust No One- As the start was effected, got its head down. On jumping, shifted to the outside running rail and commenced to hang out throughout. Trainer advised the gelding would now be spelled. He was advised that the horse must compete in a jump-out over 900m prior to its next start.
Race 2: Merry Xmas & Happy New Year BM 60 Handicap- 850 metres
Mysterious Man- A pre-race veterinary inspection revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg. Acting on this advice, Stewards declared it a late scratching at 1.00pm. A vet certificate of fitness will be required prior to its next start.
Daily Planet- Little slow to begin.
Fraha- Little slow to begin. Correct weight delayed when rider viewed the photo finish print and available patrol films to ascertain if grounds existed to lodge an objection against the winner. After doing so, she did not proceed with any objection.
Zip Zip Girl- Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
Race 3: Crown Lager BM 70 Handicap- 1000 metres
Otango- When questioned regarding scratching, trainer explained the gelding had galloped on Thursday and had subsequently pulled up lame. He advised that the horse was now to be retired.
Liberty Tycoon- Raced wide throughout.
Race 4: Great Northern Class B Handicap- 1517 metres
Zionic- Explanation for late declaration of rider accepted.
Mugmarino- Made contact with another runner on jumping.
Craiglea Copper- Made contact with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.
Provocateur- Rider reported mare did not handle the sand track. Found to be bled from the nearside nostril. Trainer advised he would mare would now be freshened up. Will be required to gallop over 1000 metres prior to its next start.
