Race 1: DENNIS SCHULTZ QTIS Class 1 Handicap (850 METRES)
1st – TIME TO SPARE 2nd – DOTHRAKI WARRIOR 3rd – NINETTE KAN 4th – MOKKIE MAGIC
Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer D Schultz for the late declaration of jockey J Lait as the rider of KAIDA.
Apprentice jockey H Phillips failed to claim her full allowance as the rider of KROSS REFERENCE.
Apprentice Phillips pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR92(12) for failing to claim her full allowance as consequence was fined the sum of $100.00.
TIME TO SPARE: jumped inwards at the start and bumped KAIDA.
KROSS REFERENCE slow into stride.
MOKKI MAGIC: slow into stride.
MARREW MIA jumped out at the start and bumped DOTHRAKI WARRIOR. Both horses then raced wide throughout.
KAIDA raced ungenerously around the home turn and lost ground.
Race 2: PHIL PENGELLY Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)
1st – INFINITE MISS 2nd – ROCKY RIPPER 3rd – POWER OF THE PEOPLE 4th – HEAD CHIEF
ALROE was a late scratching at 2.05pm when unable to be loaded in the barriers.
Stewards ordered all monies invested on ALROE to be refunded and that deductions of 16 cents for all win bets and 18 cents for place bets were to occur.
Trainer D Deans was advised that ALROE was barred from racing until it passes a satisfactory barrier trial.
INFINITE MISS was slow into stride.
ROCKY RIPPER shifted inwards near the 100 metres and caused POWER OF THE PEOPLE to steady momentarily.
Race 3: BROTHERS JRL BenchMark 65 Handicap (1000 METRES)
1st – AL’S BRIEFS 2nd – FINAL CHAPTER 3rd – LEAPS AND BOUNDS 4th – PRETTY KITTY
Stewards accepted the explanation of trainer J Pointon for the late declaration of jockey J Lait as the rider of PRETTY KITTY.
Jockey J Stephens replaced M Barnham as the rider of DAILY PLANET. Stewards accepted the explanation of jockey Barnham and Mr Gardiner as to the reason Jockey Barnham was declared as the rider.
Shortly after the start LEAPS AND BOUNDS shifted in for a stride resulting in PRETTY KITTY having to steady.
Approaching the 800 metres DIABLE shifted out and forced RODRIGEUZ wide on the track. Both horses then raced wide for the remainder.
TRACONI raced wide throughout.
The rider of FINAL CHAPTER lost whip near the 80 metres when under hard riding.
Race 4:LEE KIERNAN THE CELEBRATION OPEN Handicap (1194 METRES)
1st –BLAZE TO FORTUNE 2nd – JEB’S BOY 3rd – NEVZLIN 4th - BJORN
JEB’S BOY- slow into stride.
BJORN hung out around home turn.
Apprentice jockey H Phillips the rider of second place getter JEB’S BOY returned to scale in excess of half a kilogram overweight. Apprentice Phillips pleaded guilty to a charge under the terms of AR145 for returning to scale overweight and was fined $250.00.
Race 5: KIM MCARDLE Class B Handicap (1194 METRES)
1st – OUTBACK WARRIOR 2nd – KING KAHN 3rd – ROCKING CONNECTION 4th – NOSTIC
KING KAHN began awkwardly
WHAT A STAR and NOSTIC both slow into stride.
ROCKING CONNECTION raced wide throughout.
WHAT A STAR put in awkward strides leaving the 500 meters and lost ground.
