GENERAL

Due to no available rider, DAUNTING INSTINCT was declared a late scratching from race 3 at 7.55am.

Race 1: BECOME A GTC MEMBER Maiden Plate 850M

TIME TO GET READY – Raced wide over the final 500m.

ADDICTIVE PRINCESS – Blundered soon after the start and lost ground in consequence.

Race 2: DICEYS LIQUOR WAREHOUSE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 850M

BORNEO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

STELLA BOO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

ZOULY – Began awkwardly and was buffeted between runners soon after the start. Raced wide throughout.

SUPER SLICK – Began awkwardly.

LOVE MY LOUIS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: XXXX GOLD QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1194M

CINDERELLA MAN – Raced wide throughout. Near the 400m laid in and bumped with MEDIA GEM.

LUCKY STRONG – When queried in relation to the performance, jockey W Satherley advised that the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages, however failed to respond when asked for an effort from the 400m. Trainer P Fleming advised that he was disappointed with the overall performance and would likely spell the gelding.

PLAYFUL PASSION – Raced wide throughout. Carried very wide around the home turn when MISS RINEHART shifted outwards. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

COCO ROYALE – Beagan awkwardly.

MEDIA GEM – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Bumped by CINDERELLA MAN near the 400m when that runner hung in.

THE PUBLICAN – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Jockey A Spinks advised that after a poor start the colt resented the kick back.

MISS RINEHART – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Made the home turn awkwardly and carried PLAYFUL PASSION wider.

Race 4: QUEENS HOTEL OPEN Handicap 1194M

DIDDLEY SQUAT – Fractious in the barriers. Jumped in the air at the start and made contact with the barrier structure and lost ground as a result. Trainer C Taylor was of the view that the gelding resented the kick back after gaining a poor start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed small traces of blood in the left nostril which was consistent of the horses head striking the barrier partition on jumping as evidenced by a minor laceration inside the left nostril.

DARE TO SHARE – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice K Barker advised that the horse over raced in the early stages and after travelling wide throughout this told on the overall performance of DARE TO SHARE.

GRAND DE LAGO – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SANTORINI SUMMER – Raced wide over the final 600m.

Race 5: GLADSTONE CUP 9TH AUGUST BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1517M

SADDLES – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers which revealed a minor abrasion to the left hind fetlock. The gelding was cleared to start. Slow to begin.

PREVARICATE – Slow to begin. Apprentice S Bailey advised that the mare travelled relatively well, until asked for an effort where PREVARICATE failed to respond to her riding efforts. Apprentice Bailey further stated that she felt her mount failed to handle heavier sand conditions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer M Ferguson was advised that a warning has now been placed on the mare for a poor performance.
