GENERAL
The following runners underwent a pre-race veterinary examinations due to not racing for an extended period:
SECRET CAVIAR, EXCLUSIVE DROP, UNCLE RUSS, LUMINOIUS WATERS.
Due to the cancellation of the Mungindi meeting, Stewards accepted all reasons for the late declaration of riders.
Stewards approved the following overweight:
Race 5: Y Lewis +1kg (56)
 
RACE 1:GOONDIWINDI COMBINED HOTELIERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1400 M
 
WEATHER – Stood flat footed. Trainer W Nugent was advised the gelding would need to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
 
PIE CHART – Raced keen early.
 
TELAGO -Began awkwardly. Near the 400m was awkwardly placed on the heels of SPRING RAIN when that runner was laying out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
UP OVER'N GONE – Fractious in the barriers as start was affected. Raced wide for the majority. Trainer J Hancock was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.

ZAVY'S SUN - Raced wide for the majority. Hampered passing the 50m when VALLEY OF FAME (M Savva) laid out under pressure. Rider M Savva was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident.
 
SECRET CAVIAR – Change of tactics; To be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Stewards permitted the mare to race without the cross over noseband. Began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer J Hancock was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for its pre-race manners.
 
 
VALLEY OF FAME – Raced wide for the majority. Laid out under pressure over the final stages.
 
SPRING RAIN – Held up for clear running from the 200m to 100m.
 
Subsequent to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards reviewed the official race films and identified a delay in the opening of Barrier 12. Maintenance was subsequently carried out on the barrier, after which further testing was conducted. Stewards were satisfied that Barrier 12 was functioning correctly following the maintenance.
 
*After the running of race 1 the track was upgraded to a soft 6.
 
RACE 2:RETAILERS & BUSINESS OUTLETS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP(1) 1400 M
 
PROPONENT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider App R O’Connell reported his mount raced green when placed under pressure.
 
BUGDEN – Raced wide for the majority. Laid out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
GLUTTONY – Weakened from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

SHOT DOWN BY LOVE – Raced wide for the majority. Momentarily eased entering the home straight when DUBBLE HUSSLE (App J Emmerson) shifted out. Apprentice Emmerson was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
MAEVE – Lost tongue tie enroute to barriers and was unable to be reapplied. Stewards approved the mare to race without tongue tie. Slow to begin.
 
PUB FEED – Bumped with DUBBLE HUSSLE passing the 100m.
 
DUBBLE HUSSLE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Bumped with
PUB FEED passing the 100m.
 
KINDLY (NZ) – At the 300m was eased and shifted out to obtain clear running. Held up passing the 200m before shifting in to obtain clear running.
 
SPIRIT OF SAINTLY – Slow to begin. Raced keen passing the 800m.
 
RACE 3:HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBLES BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP(2) 1400 M
 
ALL BLACK – Eased passing the post when ALL BLACK (N Fazackerley) shifted in. N Fazackerley was advised to show greater care under similar circumstances.
 
NITROGEN – Raced keen in the middle stages.
 
ROWDASH – Raced keen early.
 
EXTRA HANDS – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
PLAYFUL PUZZLE – Began awkwardly and slow away. Raced wide for the majority.
 
LITTLE SHOW – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
MISSING BOUNDARIES - Raced wide for the majority.
 
GLITTERSCRIPT – Rider reported her she lost her use of the whip at the top of the home straight when it became entangled in her mount’s mane.
 
JEROME – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously for the early and middle stages. Held up for a short distance upon entering the home straight. Rider P Hamblin reported his mount hung out throughout proving difficult to ride. Train P Randall was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its racing manners.
 
ROKABYE WARRIOR – Eased up by its rider over the concluding stages. Rider W O’Connell reported the gelding felt flat and when placed under pressure proved disappointing and elected to ease his mount down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer A Park was advised that the gelding would need to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
RACE 4: GOONDIWINDI INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIERS CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
 
GANDALF – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in when placed under pressure from the 100m. Rider Apprentice I Jessop was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride her mount out to the finish line.
 
PANIGALE – Momentarily eased near the 700m when BARBRA (App C Lowe) shifted in. Apprentice Lowe was severely reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident.
 
REVANTAS – Awkwardly placed on heels shortly after the start.
 
TOUTE SWEET - Raced wide for the majority.

SKY BLUE – Very slow to begin. Trainer N Keal was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for being slow away.
 
LAUNCH SEQUENCE - Raced wide for the majority.
 
TAYLOR'S RAGE – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Laid out rounding the home turn. Rider H Richardson reported the gelding raced green when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
EXCLUSIVE DROP – Began awkwardly and was slow away. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
 
RACE 5:2026 JOHNSTONE CONCRETE & QUARRIES PTY LTD INGLEWOOD CUP BENCHMARK 74 HANDICAP 1000m
 
ELUSIVE EAGLE - Raced wide for the majority.
 
JET EMPRESS – Began awkwardly and bumped with LUMINOUS WATERS. Raced wide for the majority.
 
UNCLE RUSS – Began awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
LUMINOUS WATERS – Bumped on jumping when JET EMPRESS shifted out on jumping. Rider Apprentice J Emmerson suggested the addition of a tongue tie to the mares racing gear. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
Race 6:GOONDIWINDI RURAL SUPPLIERS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1200 M
 
Correct weight was delayed, allowing W O’Connell the rider of 4th placegetter MERCHANT LADY, and trainer R Warzecha to view the stewards patrol footage to determine whether there were grounds to lodge a protest against 3rd placegetter ARAMINTA. After viewing the replays, both W O’Connell and R Warzecha elected not to proceed with a protest, therefore, correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
 
MAN IN THE MIRROR – Slow into stride.

BITOFTHEBLARNEY (NZ) – Began awkwardly and bumped with MERCHANT LADY.
 
ARAMINTA – Slow into stride. Held up for clear running from the 200m to 100m before shifting out to improve.
 
MEDDLESOME – Began very awkwardly with the rider becoming momentarily unbalanced. Rider S Sweedman reported his mount proved disappointing, he further added this could have attributed to the mare backing up from a recent start and the heavy weight carried today. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
ASTIN LANE – Eased when awkwardly placed on the heels of EGYPTIANS REWARD which shifted out on jumping.
 
KICKATINALONG – Momentarily eased when improved onto heels passing the 100m.
 
MERCHANT LADY – Began awkwardly and bumped with BITOFTHEBLARNEY. Momentarily hampered near the 50m when BITOFTHEBLARNEY (App J Emmerson) laid in. Apprentice J Emmerson was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for this incident.
 
EGYPITIAN'S REWARD – Shifted out on jumping. Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
 
SPIRIT FOX - Hung out when racing keen in the early and middle stages. Trainer C Geran was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its racing manners.
