Race 1: SOMERSBY CIDER MAIDEN PLATE – 1100 Metres
 
Correct weight was delayed when the 3rd placegetter, App K. Swaffer (CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY) requested to view the patrol films to ascertain whether she had grounds to lodge a protest against the 2nd placegetter (DEECATH) alleging interference leaving the 900 metres. After viewing the films, apprentice K. Swaffer advised that she did not wish to proceed with the protest.
 
YACCAMUNDA – Refused to jump and took no part in the race. Connections were
advised the gelding must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next race start.
 
SMOKIN' TOMMY – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Made the 900 metre crossing awkwardly and shifted out slightly momentarily placing CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY in restricted room.    
 
CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room for a short distance near the 900 metres and was steadied.   
 
DEECATH – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.   
 
Race 2: CRUISER SPRITZ CLASS B HANDICAP – 1100 Metres
 
IL PRINCIPE – Commenced to lay out leaving the 800 metres forcing MISS CLAIR wider. Shifted wider rounding the home turn, again forcing MISS CLAIR wider.
 
SUNNY COWBOY – On jumping was balked by its inside barrier gate which sprung back. This was brought to the attention of the starter.
 
AMELIA'S RAINBOW – Slow to begin.

MISS CLAIR – Forced wider leaving the 800 metres and again rounding the home turn.  
 
Race 3: GREAT NORTHERN SUPER CRISP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1100 Metres
 
VAN GAAL – Slow to begin.
 
AMMATE – Began awkwardly. Over-raced for a short distance in the middle stages.  
 
Race 4: CARLTON UNITED BREWERIES OPEN HANDICAP – 1100 Metres
 
MANHATTAN ZIP – Slow to begin.
 
FRENCH FIZZ – Reluctant to come to the outside of the heels of BOLD KINGSTON leaving the 100 metres.  
 
Race 5: GREAT NORTHERN ORIGINAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1360 Metres
 
LIMERICK MOON – Over-raced in early stages.  
 
SWEET TASTE – Raced wide in the early stages.

MALMACEDA – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
