Jockey Alam was also questioned regarding the reason he restrained his mount in the middle stages of the race. Jockey Alam stated that his horse was resenting the kickback and he was trying to get his horse balanced up in the sand. Stewards believe he may have erred in doing so and advised him that he should endeavour to ride his mounts in a manner that will not leave him open to question. In the presence of jockey advocate, Mr G Smith, jockey Alam was advised that he may need some further tutelage with the RQ Training Department.
JAM TIN – jockey Ms H Phillips pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 900 metre mark she allowed her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of ONLINES causing that runner to be checked and shift in, making contact with SHOCTONIC and UNIQUE FUSE who also had to be checked and lose their rightful running. Jockey Phillips’ license to ride in races was suspended for a period commencing midnight 11/04/2015 up to and including midnight Friday 24/04/2015 (one non-TAB meeting).
