RACE 1: CLASS 2 HDCP 850 Metres
Correct weight was delayed to allow T Hong, trainer of 5th placegetter SNITZOLA to view the photo finish image for 4th. After doing so correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
SNITZOLE – rider reported at scale gelding felt awkward in its action throughout the event. A post-race vet examination failed to reveal any abnormality
I AM MCLOVIN – blundered at the start, then raced wide throughout.
HALLE CAT – rider reported at scale mare may have struck itself in run. A post-race Vet examination revealed superficial cuts to the off foreleg. Trainer J Munce was reminded of his obligations under AR117(3) regarding horses remaining on course 30 minutes following the event.
RACE 2: MAIDEN PLATE 1030 Metres
RUSTIC MISS – hung out for majority of the event. Shifted out near 600 metres and hampered another runner.
EXCEED WITH SPEED – bled from both nostrils first time following the event. Trainer D Heinemann was advised the mare would be stood down for 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in presence of a steward prior to its next race start. (AR53A)
HOLUS BOLUS – began awkwardly, then obliged to steady from heels near 600 metres.
RACE 3: CLASS B HDCP 1170 Metres
DOUBLE DRAMA – blundered on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide in early and middle stages of the event. Finished distant and when asked to comment on performance rider J Missen stated the mare was second up today after a long break, and after being forced to work in the early and middle stages tired over the final 400metres. He added in his opinion DOUBLE DRAMA would derive significant benefit from today’s run. A post-race Vet examination revealed superficial cuts to off fore-leg.
INFINITE MISS – stood flat footed at the start and lost ground. Trainer D Gardiner was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
STAR OF AQUARIUS – shifted in under pressure near the 100 metres resulting in rider having to stop riding and straighten mount.
WATASTORY – rider A Badger pleaded guilty to a charge under 137A(3) in that she used the whip in backhand manner excessively over the final 400 metres of the event. A Badger was fined $100.
RACE 4: BENCHMARK 60 HDCP 1470 Metres
LEGAZPI – bumped by another runner on jumping away.
COME BY OFTEN – slow to begin
SCOOT FILOOT – raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
WAY UP THERE – after being loaded in the barriers became fractious, was removed, and following examination by the club Vet cleared fit to start. Bumped by another runner on jumping away.
GET LOOSE – began awkwardly and shifted out bumping runners to the outside.
