Race 1: CHEERS TO OUR VOLUNTEERS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 850m
Start of race was delayed due to STRAWBERRY LADY refusing to proceed to the barriers.
STRAWBERRY LADY was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:31pm with Stewards ordering the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 1:31pm:
8 cents in the dollar for the win
8 cents in the dollar for the place on the winner
8 cents in the dollar for 2nd place
8 cents in the dollar for 3rd place
Trainer M Ferguson was advised STRAWBERRY LADY would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
BUBBLY MOON – Raced wide for the majority.
DREAMDROP - Raced wide for the majority.
STRAWBERRY LADY – Refused to proceed to the barriers
POWER MAIDEN – Slow to begin. Passing the 500m was restrained off heels and shifted wider.
QUEENS LINES – Slow into stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right hindlimb. Trainer G Blake was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance including x-rays prior to racing again.
Race 2: JOIN THE 100 CLUB IN 2026 BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 850m
RYLOV – Slow to muster early speed. When questioned jockey J Morris stated after jumping well, his mount resented the kickback and failed to travel. A post-race veterinary examination revelaed no obvious abnormalities.
AMPHAWA – Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice S Tierney was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.
DINOSPHERE – Race wide for the majority. Laid in under presuure in the home straight proving difficult to ride. Trainer B Mair was advised a warning would be placed on gelding for its racing manners.
NINE CIGARS - Race wide for the majority.
BRAIDWOOD PRINCE - Race wide for the majority.
TINKERTINO – Began awkwardly and slow to begin.
Race 3: ARENDA PARTNERSHIP PTY LTD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1030m
SMILING ZAC (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.
FLYING RUPERT – Race wide for the majority. Apprentice S Tierney reported her mount travelled comfortably throughout until asked for an effort from the 400m and failed to respond to her riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
HURRICANE HALL – Bounded in the air on jumping and was slow away.
HEAT - Race wide for the majority.
Race 4: 4TINT2U COOLOOLA WINDOW TINTING BURNETT TO THE BEACH - HEAT -B 55 H’CAP 1170m
REEBAR – Raced wide throughout.
SHUBMAN – Passing the 500m the left stirrup iron broke leaving jockey C Taylor at a disadvantage. C Taylor reported soreness to the groin area however was fit to continue riding.
THE STORM – Began awkwardly and was slow away.
YAMUMZA – Upon reaching the finishing line, the gelding blundered and was quickly pulled up. Apprentice B. Harrison immediately dismounted. A veterinarian examination determined that the injury sustained by YAMUMZA was a fracture of the left fore fetlock resulting in the gelding being euthanised on humane grounds. Samples were taken for analysis. Acting under the provisions AR 208(3)(b), as Stewards were of the view that rider App B Harrison weighed out correctly on the gelding, which was placed sixth, and it was not practical for her to weigh in, in a timely manner and correct weight was declared in her absence.
DAINTREE DREAMING – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

JUST BINGO – Raced wide for the majority.
RAPID DUDE – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority.
MAXIE TAP (NZ) - Raced wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
OPTIMUS MAXIMUS – Began awkwardly and was slow away.
