Barker reported that she felt the mare travelled well in the early stages but was reluctant to make the turn near the 1200m, got its head in the air, shifted out abruptly and proved difficult to ride, consequently, losing ground as a result. Apprentice K. Barker added that DOMINANT ROSE from near the 850m did not handle the sand kickback and proved disappointing. Trainer L Buckingham stated that she felt that DOMINANT ROSE beginning from a wide barrier and then being caught wide going into the first turn contributed to today’s performance. She also added that she will be reconsidering DOMINANT ROSE’s racing career going forward. Trainer L Buckingham was advised that DOMINANT ROSE would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards in relation to the mares racing manners in today’s event, prior to accepting for a future race.
