RACE 1: BELYANDO RIVER BM55 HANDICAP   1460
 
TWIN TURBO – crowded after leaving the barriers and had to steady; travelled 3-wide without cover throughout. Shied when being eased down after the finish of the race dislodging Apprentice rider Jaimee-Lee Devine, who was attended by the QAS Medical Personnel for a leg injury, before being transported to Ayr Hospital for further assessment. Ms Devine will require a medical clearance prior to next riding.
BUDDLES’N’FROTH – laid in passing the 150 metres and had to be straightened.
MORDECAI – when questioned regarding the run of MORDECAI rider Jason Babarovich reported that after travelling comfortably in the run, the gelding had come off the bridle at the 600 metres and despite his efforts failed regain any significant ground thereafter. Rider Babarovich added that, in his opinion, MORDECAI may be better suited to a longer distance.
THAT'S IT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination at the barriers. Following the event rider Tash Chambers reported that she was suffering from bruising in the foot region. Ms. Chambers was stood down from her remaining engagements and advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to her next riding.
 
RACE 2: SUTTOR RIVER MAIDEN PLATE    1000 M
 
The start time of this event was deferred until 3:09pm following the injury to Apprentice Devine in Race 1.
DRUMSHANBO – hung out under pressure in the final straight.
POWER CRUISE Aidan Holt replaced Apprentice Jaimee-Lee Devine who was injured in Race One: lay in and contacted the running rail passing the 100 metres.
RUBY'S PRIDE – Peta Edwards replaced Tash Chambers who was injured in Race One: Slow to begin then hampered when BABUSHKA DOLL jumped in at the start.
BABUSHKA DOLL – jumped in at the start hampering RUBY’S PRIDE which was slow to begin.
 
RACE 3: BOWEN RIVER 0 - 50 HANDICAP   1000 M
 
EXTRA FREE – over-raced through the middle stages.
CURRY LEGEND: commenced to lay in when weakening passing the 200 metres and could not be ridden to full advantage over the final 100 metres.
POWER CHIC – slow to begin; over-raced through the middle stages.
MR DAMAGE – blundered badly on jumping unbalancing rider Ben Kennedy, who lost his off-side iron for a short distance; travelled 3-wide without cover thereafter.
WIRED FOR FUN – began awkwardly.
SNIPILLICIOUS – late scratching at 3:16pm due there being no rider available.
DIAMOND LUCY - late scratching at 3:16pm due there being no rider available.
 
 
 
RACE 4: BOGIE RIVER OPEN PLATE (SET WEIGHTS) 1000 M
 
NORTHERN PRIDE – lay out rounding the final turn dictating RUBY CHICKS wider on the track.
ROWEINER'S DANCE – when questioned regarding the below market expectation performance of ROWEINER'S DANCE rider Aidan Holt reported that the gelding had failed to come onto the bridle at any stage and that, in his opinion, may be coming to the end of this campaign. Trainer Mr Bill Kenning advised that ROWEINER'S DANCE will now be sent for a spell. 
RUBY CHICKS - following the event Co-trainer Mr Peter Rowe reported that the mare had returned to the saddling area she was showing signs of sucking wind. Mr Rowe advised that he would be actioning a gear change prior to RUBY CHICKS next racing.
VIBURNUM – Jason Babarovich replaced Apprentice Jaimee-Lee Devine.
 
RACE 5: BURDEKIN RIVER QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE   1180 M
 
RISKY INVESTMENT – Jason Babarovich replaced Apprentice Jaimee-Lee Devine; slow into stride.
GROVERS PREDICTION – underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers and passed fit to run.
 
Stewards questioned trainer Ms. Joanne Hassett regarding her scratching FISTOFFURY and BETTER BREAKOUT, being two of the three runners she accepted with. In explanation Ms. Hassett stated that FISTOFFURY had suffered a stone bruise after acceptances, with a veterinary certificate supplied, and BETTER BREAKOUT was better suited to racing at Townsville on Sunday. Given all circumstances the Stewards determined no further action was required.
