1.    Stewards permitted the following overweights given the limited number of riders available at the meeting.
Race 3. Peta Edwards (BETTER CLASS) +2.0kg
Race 4. Robert Faehr (BUSTERKICK) +1.5kg
Race 5. Chris Bryen (PERVADE(GB)) +1.0kg
Race 5. Robert Faehr (SWAMP NATION) +2.5kg
2.    The following runners were declared late scratchings at 12:00pm due to no rider being available.

3.    Following the conclusion of the meeting,Rider Peta Edwards reported that she had sustained bruising to the lower left leg from prior to the running of Race 1 when dislodged from RUN RAYMOND RUN. Rider Edwards undertook to advise Stewards should further medical treatment be required.
 
 
Race 1: PAGE & CO HAY SUPPLIES Maiden Plate 1200M
 
RUN RAYMOND RUN – Was declared a late scratching at 1:15pm after refusing to proceed to the barriers then dislodging rider Peta Edwards. Rider Edwards was assessed by QAS staff and cleared to fulfil her remaining engagements. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on RUN RAYMOND RUN be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) 42c win, 33c place.
 
Trainer Matthew McGuire was advised that RUN RAYMOND RUN must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
 
PITLECO LASS – Approaching the 600 metres, blundered and lost considerable ground, taking no competitive part in the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
ZEPHERINE – Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 2: COOLABAH PLUMBING QTIS BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1000M

Following the running of Race 1, a delegation of riders expressed concern with a section of track near the 600 metres that was inconsistent with the remainder of the racing surface. As a consequence, Stewards and a delegation of riders inspected the area of concern. Following this inspection the Stewards, after considering the opinions of the riding group, elected to proceed with the meeting.
 
AMORUSO – Proved difficult to load. Trainer Tanya Parry was advised a warning would be placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
 
CHAPARRAL CHASE – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. When questioned regarding the performance, rider Chris Bryen stated that after being slow to begin, the gelding began to race ungenerously and lost contact with the field. Rider Bryen added that the gelding finished the race off reasonably well over the concluding stages and expressed the view that CHAPARRAL CHASE would derive benefit from today’s run and may be better suited stepping up in distance.
 
TEQUILA DANCER – Bumped on jumping.
 
LEUCAENA – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping TEQUILA DANCER. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
 
RACE 3: TMK CRANE HIRE BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1200M
 
LONE ARTIST – Bounded on jumping, losing ground.
 
FORTRESS AUSTRALIA – Began awkwardly.
 
BETTER CLASS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination having not raced for an extended period and was passed fit to start. Proved difficult to load. Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
RED SUTURE – Raced wide without cover throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 
RACE 4: HUGHENDEN MOTORCYCLES BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1400M
 
MELATEN – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TYMON – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
SWEETPEA MOOCHI – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn before shifting to the outside leaving the 300 metres.
 
 
RACE 5: PRARIE SERVICES PTY LTD OUTBACK RACING SHOWCASE – HEAT – OPEN Handicap 1400M
 
HANG FIVE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
PERVADE (GB) – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
SWAMP NATION – Laid in under pressure through the early part of the home straight.
