FLYING RUPERT – Passing the 200m clipped the heels and blundered resulting in Apprentice A Miessner becoming unbalanced. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that SUPERSTITIOUS (Jockey M Gray) improved to the inside of FLYING RUPERT (Apprentice A Miessner) approaching the 200m and after contact was made between the two runners, FLYING RUPERT shifted slightly wider as SALT LAKE BETTY (Jockey M Heagney) laid in marginally passing the 200m resulting in FLYING RUPERT clipping the heels of SALT LAKE BETTY. After taking evidence from the riders involved in the incident and viewing the available patrol footage, Stewards were not able to attribute the cause of the incident to be a result of careless riding by any one rider and advised all riders to exercise care in similar circumstances.
