Race 1: Happy New Year From ITC QTIS Class 1 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – EFFIGY BELLE 2nd – DAZZLUNA 3rd – SCHNELLES PFERD 4th – DADON

JOKE ASEIDE – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

EFFIGY BELLE – Slow to begin.

RATSTAN – Slowly into stride.

LOVE FROM LYNDI – Vetted pre-race and passed fit to start. Bumped with another runner on jumping.

Following the running of this event Stewards downgraded the track rating from a Soft 5 to a Soft 7.

Race 2: Cols Vinyl And Canvas Maiden Plate 1100 metres:
1st – ISADOR AMORE 2nd – CHRISTMAS VAMPIRE 3rd – LADY’S GATHERING 4th – EFFERVESCENT

OLLIE OOBA – Shortly after the start commenced to race ungenerously, taking no competitive part in the event.
A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Ms. T Parry was told that the gelding would be placed on suspension and required to successfully complete one (1) barrier trial prior to being cleared to resume racing.

LADY’S GATHERING – Steadied off the heels of another runner passing the 800m.

EFFERVESCENT – Steadied passing the 1000m due to minor pressure from a wider positioned runner

Race 3: Pease Park Management Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – MODEL TO EXCEED 2nd – TEN TORINOS 3rd – DAZZLING LADY 4th – UNREAL

MY MATE NATE – Became fractious in barriers and flipped over dislodging jockey J Dickinson. Late withdrawal at 2:43pm. Subsequently when correct weight was declared stewards ordered that all bets placed on MY MATE NATE be refunded in full and all other successful bets placed on the race prior to 2:43pm be subject to the deductions of 13c win and 12c place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr S Cooper was told that the gelding would be placed on suspension and required to successfully complete two (2) barrier trials prior to being cleared to resume racing.

TOP SHELF SHUFFLE – Inclined to race keenly in the early part of the event.

Race 4: Thank You Allan Scullen 20Yrs Service Benchmark 65 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – ARONSON 2nd – CARAVAN SANG 3rd – TRY ME DOL 4th – AIR OF HEAVEN

Connections of ARONSON advised Stewards at the commencement of the meeting that it was their intention to attempt to have the gelding ridden quietly in the early part of today’s event as the gelding had not been finishing off its races at recent starts when ridden more positively early. This information was conveyed to patrons via the on-course public address system.

ARONSON – Steadied off heels approaching the 800m.

AIR OF HEAVEN – Delayed start due to reluctance to load. Trainer Ms. J Ball was told that a warning would be placed on the mare and should it perform similarly in future it would be placed in barrier trials to rectify its manners.

ARMY OF ONE – Slow to begin.

Race 5: Racing Queensland Benchmark 70 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – DANARULE 2nd – GLADIUS 3rd – SECRET ORDERS 4th – ZIGURAT

STRUMMING – Raced wide through home turn.

GLADIUS – Steadied off heels passing the 1300m. Commenced to race keenly soon after to approximately the 600m. Trainer Ms. L Ashford was reminded of her responsibility to advise Stewards of any intended change of riding tactics after Stewards noted that the gelding was restrained and ridden back in the field in today’s event as opposed to previous recent starts where it had been ridden more positively in the early stages.

ZIGURAT – Raced wide through the home turn.
