GENERAL
Permitted Overweight:

RACE 1: BROTHERS LEAGUE CLUB QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 900 Metres
WHAT A SHOW – After sustaining an injury during transportation to the course the mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 12:42pm. As betting had not commenced no deductions were applicable.
FALKLAND – As the gelding had not raced for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinarian examination and was cleared to start. Jockey L Gurnier advised the horse got its tongue over the bit during the race. Trainer R Ludwig advised he will add a tongue tie to the gelding’s gear prior to its next start.
MEANS TEST – Tightened for room on jumping and shortly after was tightened by THIRD MASTER which shifted in slightly and as a result clipped the heels of MISS BOHO FASHION and blundered.
CHATEAU VON TESS – Laid out on the home turn when racing greenly and continued to race greenly in the home straight.
RACE 2: DRM PLUMBING & JASON AQUILINA ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1000 Metres
The start of this race was delayed when a member of the public required medical attention by the on course QAS.
DESERT GRIT – Co trainer P Rowe advised stewards it would be the intention to ride the horse in a more forward manner if circumstances permit. Horse was ridden accordingly.
KAYTEE WISDOM – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination of KAYTEE WISDOM identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. Trainer R. Singleton was advised that KAYTEE WISDOM shall not without the permission of the Stewards: (a) for a period of 2 months after the attack of bleeding, be trained, exercised or galloped on a racecourse, recognized training track, private training establishment, or other place; (b) must not start in any race for a period of 3 months, and then only after: i. a gallop of at least 1,000 metres; or ii. an official trial or jump-out; in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.AR79(4)
MUSIC GIRL – Disappointed for a run leaving the 300 metres and had to be restrained off heels and shifted inwards. Raced wide without cover for the majority.
CHARM TELLER – Raced wide with cover for the majority.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a SOFT (6)

RACE 4: RAINE & HORNE INNISFAIL COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER / JOHNSTONE RIVER OPEN HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
UNDER THE LIMIT – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered for the late declaration of rider for the gelding.
GAMADALE NIP – Slow to begin.
IMPARDOO – Shifted in near the 800 metres when not fully clear of RECRUITER causing that runner to be checked. Jockey L. Morrison after pleading not guilty made a request to change her plea to a guilty plea to which stewards accepted to a charge under AR 131(a) in that near the 800 meters she permitted IMPARDOO to shift in when insufficiently clear of RECRUITER causing that runner to be checked and lose its rightful running. Stewards suspended Ms. Morrisons license to ride in races for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 25/10/2025 and expire midnight 1/11/2025. Stewards deemed this incident to be in the low range and advised Ms. Morrison of her appeal rights.
RECRUITER – Checked near the 800 metres when tightened for room by IMPARDOO which shifted in when not fully clear.
RACE 5: CENTURY CRANES TRAINERS CUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
GRINZINGER BURG – Slow to begin.
NOBLE ATTACK – Slow to begin.
SUPERSTITIONS – Raced wide in the early stages.
ELLIE’S DREAM – Disappointed for a run between MELANIN and LISTENTOZOU leaving the 100 metres and had to be restrained.
RACE 6: CORAL COAST FINANCIAL INNISFAIL CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 2000 Metres
BLAZERRO – When questioned regarding the scratching of the gelding trainer T Button advised that after considering the weather forecast and long travel required, he was of the opinion the gelding would be better suited to a race at Townsville on Tuesday 21st Oct 2025. His explanation was noted.
PEROVIC – Slow into stride. Laid out under pressure in the home straight and shifted wider. Stewards noted rider C Meehan exceeded the permitted strikes of the whip prior to the 100 metres (+ one) under AR132(7)(a)(ii); however, given the totality of the whip use no further action was taken.
PICCAPEPPA – Commenced to over race in the middle stages and shifted wider approaching the 800 metres and raced wide from that point onwards.
