Race 1: Sirromet Wines QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1100m
Stewards permitted apprentice M. McGuren to ride Tailevent when able to claim only 1.5 kilograms of his 2 kilogram allowance. M. McGuren was fined the sum of $100.
AZORES – Slow to begin.
LUJAC – Slow to begin. Hung out leaving the 700m, having to be steadied from heels near the 600m.
STAR OF MONACO – Slow into stride. Raced greenly in the early stages.
ONE STANDOUT – Began awkwardly and then raced ungenerously in the early stages. Trainer L. Ross was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.
DUTCH TREAT – Inconvenienced on jumping away.
EXCELLENT SPIRIT - Inconvenienced on jumping away. Inclined to hang out rounding the home turn. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
TAILEVENT – Overraced in the early stages. When questioned into the improved performance, trainer B. Hill advised stewards he was not entirely disappointed with the colt's previous run where it drew a wide barrier gate and was obliged to race wide when overracing. He added that Tailevent had pleased him leading into today's event and had expected a forward showing. Stewards noted the explanation.
SOVEREIGN STAR – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
Race 2: Sirromet 5 Star Winersy CG&E Maiden Plate – 1100m
ZABEEL GLORY – Began awkwardly and then forced wider and obliged to restrain from heels. Unable to obtain clear running after entering the home straight and went to the post without being fully tested. When questioned into the performance, Rider B. Stewart stated that his intention was to ride the horse in a forward position, however after being interfered with shortly after the start was obliged to restrain and raced in a rearward position, and then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. The explanation was noted.
FUSCUS – Forced outwards soon after the start and restrained.
EX FIFTEEN – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to both hind fetlocks.
THE MONK – Overraced in the early stages.
CONTINENTAL SILK – Overraced in the early stages.
TWIN FIGHTER – Became awkward in its action for a short distance approaching the 500m.
Race 3: XXXX Gold F&M Maiden Plate – 1100m
As L. Rolls was indisposed, J. Taylor was substituted as the rider of Zooming Away.
ZOOMING AWAY – The race was delayed when the horse was fractious when attempting to load into the barriers, dislodging J. Taylor. After being cleared by the veterinary surgeon to start, the horse again became fractious, making heavy contact with the outside running rail and was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.56 pm. All monies invested on Zooming Away were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

Trainer P. Hill was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the mare prior to it being permitted to race again.
CYNISCA – Slow to begin.
LEMON CRUIZER – Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
PERFECT STAR – Bumped on jumping away.
APEGASUS – Rider R. Wiggins dropped his whip near the 300m. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 4: Corona At ITC Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1100m
ALL MY ANGELS – Restrained to avoid heels leaving the 1000m.
ELLA MAGIC – Rider T. Harrison was reprimanded for shifting in leaving the 1000m when not fully clear, causing tightening to another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
ASTATUS – Momentarily held up for clear running leaving the 200m. Shifted in under pressure approaching the winning post causing a tightening. Rider L. Tarrant was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
KINGTANTES – Steadied when placed in restricted room approaching the winning post.
OOSTHUIZEN – Stewards questioned rider G. Colless regarding his riding of the gelding rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Jockey Colless stated he was initially attempting to take a run to the inside of ALL MY ANGELS, however was unable to do so when DOMINI improved to his inside. He then elected to improve outside ALL MY ANGELS however was unable to shift wider due to being inside the heels of DANDY FINE. When a run did present itself in the home straight, OOSTHUIZEN was slow to respond to his riding however did start to finish the race off nicely over the concluding stages and, in his opinion, will be better suited to trips over longer distances than that of today's race. Whilst noting his explanation stewards advised jockey Colless that in their opinion he could have shown more vigour in the early stages of the home straight.
Race 5: Enjoy Heineken Class 3 H'cap – 1666m
DESTARS – A pre-race veterinary examination of the horse, which was fractious en route to the track, revealed minor abrasions to the near side hip. The gelding was cleared to start.
The start was delayed when MARTILAGO shifted its off fore plate, requiring farrier attention. The start was further delayed when the saddle on DARYL'S RUN shifted back, requiring the horse to be resaddled.
UNADULTERATED – Slow to begin. Hampered near 350m. Unable to obtain clear running entering the home straight.
FRIGHTENING BOLT – Steadied from heels nearing the 1200m.
PRINCE OF SOFIA – Restrained shortly after the start when crowded for room. Inconvenienced approaching the 1200m. Shifted in and bumped another runner near the 350m.
BROTHER LOVE – Held up and unable to improve for a short distance leaving the 500m.
REQUIREMENT – Improved onto and clipped the heels of a tiring horse near the 400m and blundered.
DARYL'S RUN – Hampered near 350m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
NEXT ERA – Hampered near 350m.
CHASING THE DRAGON - Hampered near 350m.
Race 6: Schweppes Class 5 H'cap – 1200m
DENMARK HILL – Blundered on jumping away.
STAY SCHTUM – Began awkwardly. Rider G. Colless was questioned regarding his riding of the gelding over the final 200m. He stated he had pressured the horse approaching the home turn and leading into the home straight, however it failed to respond to his riding and, in his opinion, the gelding's run had ended and for that reason he was reluctant to place his mount under further pressure. The explanation was noted.
KNIGHT TEMPLAR – Overraced in the early stages. Rider S. Galloway was reprimanded for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.
WRITE CHEEK – Held up for clear running from entering the home straight until a point approaching the 100m. Rider R. Wiggins was reprimanded and advised to show greater care for shifting out to obtain clear running near the 100m, causing another runner to restrain from his mount's heels.
DOCTOR DAVID – Obliged to restrain from heels near the 100m. Galloped on the off side knee.
TUNED IN – Bumped by another runner near the 50m.
MR AHLBERONI – Broke down off fore tendon. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be produced prior to its next race start.
Race 7: Pepsi Max Maximum Taste F&M Class 3 Plate – 1100m
GREAT TOUCH – Attempted to buck shortly after the start and was retired from the race. Trainer M. Goodair was advised that the horse must trial satisfactorily in an official trial prior to being permitted to race again.
SATURN ROCK – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.
MISSING PAGE – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Bled from both nostrils during the race. As this was the second occasion on which the horse has bled, it will now incur a life-time bar from racing.
Race 8: Thirst Crusher Solo CG&E Class 3 Plate – 1100m
WIND DANCER – Slow to begin and restrained at the start when tightened for room between runners.
TRAVEL IN STYLE – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels approaching the 400m and had to be restrained.
NARSONS DUKE – Checked when tightened for room and became unbalanced losing ground near the 900m.
ALI MOUNTAIN – Hampered near 900m. Overraced for a short distance leaving the 900m.
STYLISH DRAGON – Hampered and shifted in and away from other runners near the 900m.
ANOTHER SAGA - Crowded runners near the 900m. Rider T. Harrison was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
NEPTUNE PALACE – Obliged to restrain when racing in restricted room and improving onto heels leaving the 700m. Raced wide this point onwards.
PHOTOBOMB – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which raced disappointingly, was found to be lame in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that veterinary clearance must be produced prior to its next race start.
NIGHT RITUALS – Began awkwardly and bumped another runner. Steadied from heels rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the race. Rider J. Byrne advised stewards his intention was to ride the horse in a forward manner however after beginning awkwardly was unable to improve forward and raced wide throughout, which was a telling factor on the horse's performance.
