MIA MAGIC – Raced three wide without cover throughout.

CABIN GOSSIP – At the request of rider J. Lloyd, the mare was examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to be lame in the off foreleg. The horse was declared a late scratching at 1.07 pm. Trainer P. Duff was advised that he must obtain a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to it being permitted to race again. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on CABIN GOSSIP be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to wagers placed prior to scratching time:

14 cents in the dollar for the Win #12
20 cents in the dollar for place of winner #12
12 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #8
18 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #6

ASTRADAS – Began awkwardly and shifted out. When questioned regarding the horse's performance, apprentice L. Dittman advised that it was the intention to ride the mare in a more forward position, however after beginning awkwardly it then had a tendency to hang out for the majority of the race, proving difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near foreleg. Trainer's representative Mr Trent Edmonds was advised that the mare must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to being permitted to race again and he must also produce a veterinary clearance.

MISS SONADOR – Leaving the 50m was accidentally struck by the whip of another rider in the vicinity of the head.

RED CHANDELIER – Hung out for the majority of the event, proving difficult to ride, and near the 100m shifted out, hampering NO LUST LOST. Trainer H. Page indicated that the blinkers would be removed at its next start.

RING KING – Reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground, and then commenced to overrace and threw its head in the air in the early and middle stages. Trainer A. Willick was advised she must obtain a further barrier certificate before the horse is permitted to race again.
