AIR FORCE ONE – Began awkwardly and then was buffeted for a short distance and was bumped again shortly afterwards. Overraced in the early stages.

LATE PAYMENT – Hampered when crowded at the start. Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount was making an abnormal respiratory noise and for this reason he did not persist in riding it out over the concluding stages. Trainer Mr P. Duff advised that the rider reported it may have got its tongue over the bit and that he would experiment with the addition of a tongue-tie in the horse's work before deciding to fit that gear for its next start.

ROMANOV – Began awkwardly.

RUBY RAY – Buffeted on straightening.

SKYTREK – Hampered when crowded near the 200m.

MISHANI NEFERTITI – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

PRINCESS CHARM – Trainer B. Baldwin was afforded the opportunity to explain the improved performance. He said that at the horse's previous start from a good draw it gained a favourable position early, however was shuffled back in running to a rearward position before being shifted wider and finishing the race off nicely. He added prior to that the horse raced over a shorter distance and had previously shown disappointing performances on rain affected tracks. Mr Baldwin added with today's increase in distance and the horse dropping back in class the filly performed favourably as he expected.

ARTETA – Jockey G. Colless reported the horse travelled to the 600m, however when placed under pressure failed to respond and he became concerned something was amiss with his mount and for this reason eased the colt down in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer K. Schweida advised he would have a full veterinary examination carried out on the gelding, the results of which he would forward on to stewards.
