Race 1: Carlton Draight Maiden Plate – 1350m
 
The start was slightly delayed to allow for riders who arrived late on course due to a  traffic accident to fulfil their riding engagements.
 
SOLSPEIL – Slow to begin.
 
OUR MOMENTO – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
TELFORD – Had a tendency to hang out throughout.
 
WITHOUT REVENGE – When asked to explain the tactics adopted jockey J. Byrne explained that after being moderately away and settling at the rear of the field the colt failed to muster early speed and settled further back than anticipated. Jockey Byrne stated that approaching the home turn when asked to improve the colt, due to greenness, had a tendency to lay in for a short period causing him some inconvenience when trying to shift to the outside of CHECKMATE LAD to obtain clear running. Jockey Byrne further stated that the colt finished the race off quite strongly and would benefit from todays run and appreciate a step up in distance.
 
 
Race 2: Channel 7 Ipswich Cup 16 June QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1100m
 
SOGNI – Underwent a veterinary examination prior to saddling after arriving late on course on course due to a traffic accident and was cleared to race. Raced three and four wide throughout.
 
DEFENCE MISSILE – Slow to begin.
 
MASTER BAYLEE – Slow to begin. Passing the 600m momentarily laid out inconveniencing JUST GIVEME RUBIES.
 
BRAVE JEWEL – Bumped shortly after the start when tightened between runners. Overraced in the early stages. Had a tendency to lay in in the early part of the home straight. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
LOTZA – Raced four wide in the early stages before obtaining a position as joint leader three wide passing the 700m.
 
JUST GIVEME RUBIES – Passing the 600m improved onto heels and had to be restrained. Approaching the 250m was bumped and had to be steadied when MASTER BAYLEE shifted out.
 
 
Race 3: Buy Now @Ipswichturfclub.com.au QTIS 2YO Maiden Plate – 1100m
 
Trainer T. Edmonds was fined $100 for the late declaration of J. Lloyd as the rider of PHOENIX GLOBAL.
 
PHOENIX GLOBAL – Fractious in the tie-up stalls, slipped over, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to race.
 
TULLIO – Began awkwardly.
 
RICH AND RECKLESS – Began awkwardly and bumped COCO FASHION.
 
COCO FASHION – Bumped and hampered on jumping.
 
 
Race 4: Lazy Bear Hill Party Colts, Geldings & Entires BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1200m
 
After arriving late on course due to  a traffic accident both EL SHADAY and THE MONK underwent a veterinary examination and were cleared to race.
 
At the request of its rider EL SHADAY underwent a further veterinary examination after arriving at the barriers and was cleared to race.
 
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by co-trainers B. & D. Guy for the late declaration of P. Hammersley as the rider of EL SHADAY.
 
NATCH – Slow to begin. Passing the 1000m improved onto heels and had to be restrained. Passing the 700m raced three wide with cover. Approaching the 250m had to be steadied and shifted out to avoid the heels of SO INVINCIBLE. When questioned regarding the performance App B. Thornton explained that it was his intention to race in a forward position but after being slow to begin the gelding settled just off the speed. App Thornton further added that in the home straight he was slightly inconvenienced but was satisfied with the geldings performance.
 
EXOTIC SEQUEL – Hampered on jumping.
 
SO INVINCIBLE – Approaching the 250m shifted out abruptly causing its rider to stop riding and straighten.
 
STRYKE OF DELIGHT – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 5: Pimms Lawn Party Tix Colts, Geldings & Entires BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1200m
 
HOTEL COSTE – Began awkwardly.
 
MONSTER OF ENERGY – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 250m had a tendency to lay in and when endeavouring to shift to the outside became awkwardly placed at the heels of HOTEL COSTE, which was taken out slightly. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
MEHMETO – Bumped on jumping.
 
PRETEXTS DREAM – Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
THE REAL SPIEL – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
RISING STOCK – When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer G. Duncan explained that at the geldings previous starts it proved disappointing. Mr Duncan added that the gelding always worked quite well and he experimented by adding the pacifiers and the nose roll to todays gear, which it has worked quite well in recently. Mr Duncan further added that with the addition of the gear and the fact that the gelding was able to lead in a more suitable race today he had expected some improvement however, he was surprised by the win. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
 
Race 6: Final Tix Available @Ipswichturfclub.com.au QTIS 3YO Handicap – 2200m
 
RED PHANTOM – Slow to begin.
 
BANNER SEASON – Approaching the winning post on the first occasion was unable to obtain a position with cover in the second half of the field and was obliged to race three wide until a point passing the 1400m, where jockey Lloyd allowed the gelding to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader.
 
THE PINKERTON – Shifted to a three wide position passing the 900m.
 
SAWTELL – After travelling in a handy position for the majority of the race commenced to weaken in the home straight and proved disappointing.  When questioned jockey L. Rolls explained that the gelding was stepping up from 1600m at its most recent starts and in his opinion failed to run out the 2200m of todays event.
 
Race 7: Buy Corona Infield Marquee Tix Fillies & Mares BenchMark 65 Handicap – 1200m

SWISS LOVE – After being fractious in the gates began awkwardly and was hampered by COSMOS SEVEN. Held up rounding the home turn and was awkwardly placed at heels and had to shift back to the inside to obtain clear running passing the 250m. Jockey T. Harrison explained it was her intention to race in a forward position however, after being awkwardly away and then crossed by runners from her outside she was unable to improve further forward.
 
FLEUR D ORAGE – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
 
BAROQUE GIRL – Began awkwardly.
 
FELINO BEL – Heavily bumped and hampered for a short distance after jumping.
 
CATCH CANDY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
APPLAUSE A STAR – After passing the 500m improved onto heels and had to be checked and shifted wider on the track.
 
MAGIC LOVE – Held up for a short distance rounding the home turn.
 
COSMOS SEVEN – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BRILEE ROSE – Had a tendency to lay in under pressure over the final 100m. When questioned regarding the performance jockey J. Lloyd explained that after drawing a wide barrier the filly had to be used up more than he would have liked in the early stages to obtain the lead. Jockey Lloyd stated that the filly travelled well and responded when asked for an effort on straightening however, commenced to weaken over the final 100m. Jockey Lloyd further stated that in his opinion the filly may be better suited to races shorter to that of todays event.
 
 
Race 8: Ipswich Cup Tix Selling Fast BenchMark 85 Handicap – 1350m
 
Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by co-trainers J. Symons & S. Laxon  for the late declaration of M. Hellyer as the rider of SAN TELMO.
 
BIANTIC – After beginning from a wide barrier was caught wide in the early stages and then passing the 1100m was ridden forward in an attempt to obtain a position closer to the rail with cover but was unable to do so and eventually obtained a position outside the leader passing the 900m.
 
SAN TELMO – Began awkwardly.
 
LAUTERBRUNNEN – Bumped on jumping.
 
SLYDINI – Blundered slightly on jumping.
 
THE EQUALIZER – Overraced  in the early stages and passing the 900m had to be steadied away from heels. Held up from the 400m and in the early part of the home straight was disappointed on a number of occasions when attempting to obtain clear running and was only able to obtain clear running passing the 100m.
 
YABA DABL DOYA – Approaching the 900m commenced to overrace and shifted out to avoid heels. Passing the 600m again overraced and had to be steadied away from heels and shifted out forcing ENDLESS DAYS wider on the course. Had a tendency to lay out in the home straight.
 
ENDLESS DAYS – Passing the 600m forced wider on the course when YABA DABL DOYA shifted out. Inclined to lay in over the final 200m placing its rider at a disadvantage.
 
 
Race 9: Ipswich Cup Infield Festival Class 3 Plate – 1710m
 
As S. Galloway was indisposed due to injury stewards permitted M. Cahill to be substituted as the rider of PRINCELY SUM.
 
THINK LIKE A BIRD – Began awkwardly. Had a tendency to hang out after passing the 500m until entering the home straight.
 
DEFENCE WITNESS – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover in the early stages before pressing forward after passing the 1100m to obtain a position outside the leader near the 900m.
 
SICARIO – Tightened between runners shortly after jumping.
 
PRINCELY SUM – Overraced in the early stages and had to be restrained from heels approaching the 1400m.
 
 
Race 10:Get Social @Ipswichturfclub BenchMark 90 Handicap – 1710m
 
SERGEANT BLAST – After passing the 1000m became unbalanced when bumped heavily by MY DIAMANTINE, which was taken in by FUERZA, which laid in for a short distance. Held up after passing the 200m and was unable to be fully tested over the concluding stages.
 
MY DIAMANTINE – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DOUBLE IMPACT – When tiring rounding the home turn was slightly hampered by BODEGA NEGRA, which shifted out to improve.
 
LORDAG – Had a tendency to lay in rounding the home turn and in the home straight.
 
CORNROW – Held up rounding the home turn until a point passing the 200m.
 
FUERZA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
