Race 1: Ipswich Racing Museum Room Hire Maiden Plate – 1100m

GOTTA RUN – On jumping shifted out abruptly, dislodging its rider. Due to its poor record regarding barrier manners, trainer G. Cornish was advised that the gelding would be required to complete 2 consecutive official trials to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again.

LORIMER – Hampered shortly after the start.

RABBIT HUNTER – Laid out rounding the home turn.

CLASSY JANA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

LOVE RUSH – Passing the 100m commenced to lay in. Near the 50m improved onto heels and had to be restrained form heels and when to the line without be fully tested. Blundered shortly after passing the finish line blundered almost dislodging its rider.

FAT MAX – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.





Race 2: Go Racing @ Ipswichturfclub Fillies & Mares Benchmark 70 H’cap -1200m

SEND US A SIGN – As C. Franklin was to be overweight, J. Byrne was substituted as the rider of the horse. C. Franklin was fined the sum of $200. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey J. Byrne explained that he was unable to gain cover and was also unable to press forward and obtain the lead and as the mare has a tendency to hang when being restrained, was therefore was caught 3 wide without cover.

ALLENA – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the settling position of the mare, apprentice C. Bayliss stated after being slowly away and being slightly hampered and checked shortly after the start, the mare raced further back than he would have liked. After passing the 900m had to be checked when tightened for room by BRIGHT IDEA, which shifted in. Apprentice B. Northdurft,, rider of BRIGHT IDEA, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that passing the 900m when racing in a one wide position rode forward and shifted in, tightening the running of ALLENA, which was racing to its inside, which had to be checked and lose its rightful running. Apprentice Northdurft was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 28 November and to expire at midnight, 6 December.

Approaching the 800m again had to be checked and steadied away when awkwardly placed at the heels of BRIGHT IDEA, which was taken in initially by LADY MICAELA, which was slightly tightened by VIENNA MOON. Jockey D. Smith, rider of VIENNA MOON, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

ANNATIME – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

LADY MICAELA – Approaching the 800m, LADY MICAELA had to be steadied away from the heels of VIENNA MOON, which shifted in. Laid in under pressure over the final 150m.

BRIGHT IDEA – Approaching the 800m had to be checked away from the heels of LADY MICAELA, which was taken in by VIENNA MOON, and in doing so, ALLENA, which was following, also had to be checked away from heels.


Race 3: Carlton Mid QTIS 3yo C&G H’cap – 1200m

TRU BLUE TANGO – Trainer N. McCall was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Approaching the 400m when attempting to shift wider to improve, laid in for a short distance and became awkwardly placed at the heels of DESERT DIGBY.

PERFECT AIM – Began awkwardly.

CLASSIC BEAU – Slightly hampered between runners on jumping away. Approaching the 800m commenced to hang out and raced 3 wide without cover for the remainder of the race. Then rounding the home turn raced very wide. Trainer M. Boland was advised that a warning would be placed against the gelding for its racing manners.

Race 4: Sirromet QTIS 3yo F&M H’cap – 1200m

FIRST CLASS MISS – Began awkwardly. Steadied away form heels passing the 900m.

TATCEE – Hampered on jumping away. Approaching the 700m when the pace slackened had to be steadied away from heels and shifted out, and in doing so forced THE LAST SEQUALO wider on the track.

PONY POWER – Tightened for room shortly after the start.

YAMAZAKI – When racing in a rearward trailing position made contact with the hind quarters of FIRST CLASS MISS and in doing to became unbalanced for a few strides. Over the final 50m improved onto heels and had no clear running and went to the line without being fully tested.

THE LAST SEQUALO – Passing the 700m was forced wider by TATCEE, which shifted out. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

CONQUERMORE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Lost its off fore plate in running.


Race 5: Schweppes Cannonball Series – Heat – Benchmark 75 H’cap – 800m

BINDABOOBERRI – Slow to begin.

FIONNLAGH – Shortly after the start and commenced to hang out and continued to do so for the remainder of the event.

SI SI SEQUALO – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. Approaching the 100m had to be steadied away from heels and was obliged to shift out to obtain clear running.

WUDANG BLADE – Raced 3 wide throughout.

VICEMAN – Hung in over the final 200m, causing its rider to stop riding on a number of occasions. Raced 4 wide throughout.

STELLARCRAFT – Over the final 50m was momentarily steadied away from heels and raced in restricted room in the run to the line.


Race 6: River 94.9 FM Class 6 Plate – 1350m

SAN TELMO – Declared a late scratching at 2.40 pm following the upgrading of the track to Good 3.

DEITCH – Fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected.

FORTENSKY - Fractious in the gates prior to the start being effected. Slow into stride.

KAY KAY BOY – Began awkwardly. When racing in a trailing position raced fiercely.

PUZZLING WONDER – When racing in the lead resented begin restrained.

SUNNY VICTORY - Bumped by FORTENSKY approaching the 100m.

PRIVATE HERO – Jockey M. Hellyer reported his mount was inclined to lay in throughout the event, placing him at some disadvantage.


Race 7: Queensland Times Class 1 H’cap – 1666m

CERTAIN DOUBT – Jockey D. Smith reported the gelding performed below expectations and may be better suited to a bigger track as per its previous runs.

CYCLONE PATH – Overraced in the early stages.


Race 8: Entertain At The ITC CG&E Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1200m

MISHANI WRANGLER – Trainer B. Currie was fined $100 for failing to provide the ID card for the horse.

DESERT MAN – Sprawled its back legs as the start was effected and became very unbalanced, and then on jumping away was severely tightened between runners and lost considerable ground. Had to be steadied away from the heels of SAN SIERRA, which shifted in at the 900m. Then continued to overrace and again had to be steadied away from heels after passing the 600m.

KNOCK TOFF – Began awkwardly and was heavily bumped on the hind quarters.

AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR – Began awkwardly and was bumped on jumping away.

SAN SIERRA – Raced 3 wide without cover after passing the 800m. Rounding the home turn had to be steadied away from the heels of DESERT MAN, which shifted out to improve.

THE OVERDRAFT – Raced 3 wide with cover from the 800m. Slightly tightened for room when racing in restricted room approaching the 200m.

VAULTING AMBITION – Had to be restrained from heels at the 700m. Held up rounding the home turn. Hung in over the final 200m. Rider lost his off-side rein for a short distance approaching the 100m.

COUNTER MEAL – Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight was held up for clear running and obliged to shift back to the inside to obtain clear running.

MADLUCE MISSILE – Hung in over the final 200m. Raced 3 wide without cover from the 800m.
