LORD MINTY – Began awkwardly.

ROCK ‘N’ SOL – Began awkwardly. Jockey J. Byrne stated that after beginning awkwardly the gelding settled further back in the field than he would have liked however, approaching the home turn the gelding moved into the race and had something to offer. When placed under pressure the gelding finished the race off well however, never looked likely to be the winner. He further stated that the gelding being first up from a spell will improve and may appreciate distances further than that of today. Trainer T. Gollan agreed with jockey Byrne’s comments. Stewards noted the explanation.

Laid out under pressure over the final 150m.

POWERFUL ONE – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils during the event. Trainer H.
