GENERAL
 
WINDUPGIRL was declared a late scratching at 11:40am after becoming cast in its stable box. Trainer D Trindall was advised WINDUPGIRL would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
Race 1: BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 2 minutes as runners were held back in tie up stalls due to a passing shower.
 
MONDAY MONDAY – Slow to begin. Raced three wide throughout without cover.
 
LE RUBIS – Slow to begin.
 
LEMON LOVER – Laid in under pressure over final 100 metres before being corrected by its rider approaching the finish line.
 
MERRON DIVA – Slow to begin. Hung out throughout and made the home-turn very wide and proved difficult to ride. Rider C Caserta was of the opinion the bit may have twisted in the run. Trainer T Ranger was advised MERRON DIVA must trial prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 2: UNDER THE LOUVRE @ GRANDVIEW STUD Maiden Plate 1710 metres
 
Following Race 1 the track was downgraded to a Soft 5 retrospective to the previous event.
 
GHILEMEAR – Near the 1100 metres over-raced when the pace steadied. Laid in rounding the home-turn and steadied from the heels of TRUST IN ALOHA.
 
PRINCE HUSSON – Slow to begin. Near the 1100 metres over-raced when the pace steadied and contacted the heels of CARTIAR.
 
RAYSAND ROCKET – Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Bumped at the start.
 
CARTIAIR – Jumped in at the start and bumped RAYSAND ROCKET. Held up approaching the home turn.
 
TRUST IN ALOHA – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers. Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Held up approaching the home turn. Completed the event with barrier blanket webbing attached to the offside.
 
 
Race 3: THOROUGHBREDS SPORTS BAR Class 4 Plate 1710 metres
 
HAIL MANHATTAN – Began awkwardly.
 
OCCUPY – Blundered on jumping.

PRINNY'S SUCCESS – Slow to begin.
 
TILLY'S STAR – Change of tactics, to be ridden more forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
 
 
 
Race 4: CARLTON MID Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Stewards to determine if MARBEZZIA was afforded a fair start. After viewing the head on patrol footage correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.
 
MOUNT PADRAO – Steadied from heels near the 1000 metres when OUTSTANDING shifted in. J Lloyd, rider of OUTSTANDING, was advised to exercise greater care.
 
STORMTROOPER – Near the 1000 metres, when racing ungenerously, shifted out taking THINK GLORY wider resulting in PURPLE DIAMOND being crowded for room and having to steady. Continued to race ungenerously for some distance and near the 1000 metres was buffeted between runners for a short distance. Apprentice E Atkinson dropped her whip near the 150 metres.
 
FRAZZLED – Held up approaching the home-turn.
 
MARBEZZIA – Reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer K Kemp indicated it would be now his intention to trial MARBEZZA prior to its next race start.
 
OUTSTANDING – Raced three wide for majority of the event.
 
PURPLE DIAMOND – Crowded for room near the 1000 metres. Raced keenly approaching the home turn contacting the heels of STORMTROOPER and blundered. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.  
 
TANGO TINO – Bumped on several occasions approaching the 900 metres when STORMTROOPER raced greenly.
 
THINK GLORY – Raced three wide throughout. Bumped on several occasions between the 1100 metres and 900 metres when STORMTROOPER raced ungenerously to its inside.
 
JARAWONG – Rounding the home-turn momentarily steadied when FRAZZLED shifted out to improve. R Fradd, rider of FRAZZLED, was advised to exercise greater care.
 
 
Race 5: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 800 metres
 
THE TENOR – Began moderately before mustering speed.
 
GIDEONS – Raced wide in the early stages before rider elected to restrain and obtain cover approaching the home turn. Put in an awkward stride near the 250 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
MAN IN MOTION – Raced wide throughout.
 
SERTIN – Restrained at the start from the wide draw.
 
REMEMBER MARY – Near 700 metres steadied when awkwardly placed between runners.
 
ORSETTO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
MEAZZA – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: SIRROMET RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1710 metres
 
Declared a late scratching at 5:05pm when BELLICOSE slipped, dislodging its rider when moving onto the track. Galloped a considerable distance before being recaptured. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on BELLICOSE refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st   SKY ONE - 19 cents win,17 cents place
2nd SHADYVALE STAR -13 cents place
3rd   CHIAKI -16 cents place
 
As a result, the start was delayed approximately 3 minutes. Rider R Fradd was harmlessly dislodged in this incident.
 
TERRAJOHNA – Began awkwardly.
 
SKY ONE – From wide barrier draw restrained to the rear to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
BADGE OF GAMENESS – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE Class 2 Plate 1350 metres
 
MISS CAVALLO – Slow to begin. Checked leaving the 1100 metres. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of MISS CAVALLO which had to be checked and lose its rightful position. The license of K Wilson-Taylor to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 21st February up to and including midnight 2nd March 2021.
 
ZAMZARA – Very slow to begin.
 
WE WANT IT ALL – Raced three wide for majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
