GENERAL
Jockey J Bayliss will not be riding at today’s meeting due to illness and Jockey B Nothdurft also not riding due to personal reasons. Riding replacements as per Stewards summary below.
 
Due to current Covid restrictions, Stewards permitted the following weight variations:
Race 4 – LUCKY BEAN – M Cahill - +0.5kg
Race 6 – JETT AUSTIN – L Cassidy - +0.5kg
 
Race 1: SOLAR SONIC SOLUTIONS Class 2 Plate 800 metres
 
HIDDEN SPRING – Laid in throughout.
 
NEVER PAID – Near the 500m improved onto heels and had to be eased.
 
MY COUSIN JAMES – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
TROPICS – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
JOYFUL MISS – Slow to begin.
 
SUPER ONE SUSIE – Fractious in the barriers.
 
TROJAN ANGEL – Reared as the start was affected and took no competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination did not identify any abnormal findings.Trainer B Andrew was notified that the horse will require a further barrier certificate prior to the horse racing or trialling again.
 
NAYTELLLRHI BIRD – Stewards accepted the explanation of Trainer S Essery, in regard to the declaration of the late rider.
 
 
Race 2: PENDER ACCOUNTING GROUP Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres
 
MOTOMISS – Bumped on jumping.
 
ASHZAYA – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn. Performed below market expectation and as a result underwent a post-race veterinary examination did not identify any abnormal findings.
 
MASTER RED – Began awkwardly and bumped with MOTOMISS. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
 
Race 3: ASSURE GLOBAL PLUS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres
 
BETTER OFF – Slow to begin. Shortly after was inconvenienced when KESSELS RUN laid in momentarily.
 
MAXIMUM OUTPUT – Approaching the home turn bumped heavily on a number of occasions when MISHANI OPERTATOR attempted to shift out around the heels of ALBERT’S IN CHARGE where there was initially insufficient room to do so. Soon after straightening MISHANI OPERTATOR continued to make contact with MAXIMUM OUTPUT, apprentice M Castle was advised that the manner in which she shifted out on the home turn, placed herself and her fellow riders in a dangerous position for some distance. Stewards advised Ms Castle that this ride would be referred the riding skills panel for further tuition.
 
Raced in restricted room near the 150m between MISHANI OPERATOR and LIME SODA which laid in.
 
KESSEL RUN – Approaching the 700m improved onto heels and as a result shifted wider.
 
HOT PROFIT – Began awkwardly.
 
MISHANI OPERATOR – Began awkwardly and made contact with ALBERT’S IN CHARGE.
 
LIME SODA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALBERT'S IN CHARGE – Bumped on jumping. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
TELEPHONE BOOTH – Over-raced in the early stages. Entering the home straight was forced wider and had to be steadied when KESSEL RUN shifted out to improve.
 
Race 4: GRANDVIEW STUD Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
GRACIOUS KNIGHT – Began awkwardly and made contact with JOLLO. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
JOLLO – Bumped on jumping.
 
MARMION – Approaching the 800m improved onto heels and had to be steadied when the pace slackened.
 
MANZIKERT – Slow to begin.
 
VANTAN EXPRESS – Began awkwardly.
 
DELAVIGNE – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Near the 1000m raced in restricted room to the inside of RODIAN BULL which shifted in momentarily.
 
HAZ DE BEE – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
LUCKY BEAN – Approaching the 800m was restrained when improved onto heels.
 
RODIAN BULL – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
Race 5: UNDER THE LOUVRE AT GRANDVIEW Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
SUZURIN became very fractious in the tie up stalls and as a result was subsequently declared a late scratching at 3:48pm. All monies invested on were ordered to be refunded. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and placegetters prior to 3:48pm:
1 cents in the dollar for the win BULLION BOY
1 cents in the dollar for the place of winner BULLION BOY
1 cents in the dollar for 2nd place BETCHA BABY
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place CHASING JACKLEY
 
BULLION BOY – Hung out from the 700m. Approaching the 100m shifted out abruptly
 
CHASING JACKLEY – Raced three wide throughout.
 
BIZ CLASS – Fractious in the barriers. A post-race veterinary examination of the are identified a laceration to the near-hind leg. Trainer T Edmonds was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
ELMITA – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
GALLERY MASTER – Bumped on jumping. Improved onto heels at the 600m and was steadied and as a result commenced to hang out until a point entering the home turn.
 
STRATEGIC MOVER – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
BETCHA BABY – Bumped on jumping. Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
MISS JEDI – Fractious in the barriers. Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
NIRVANA NINJA – Approaching the 300m improved onto the heels of BIZ CLASS and had to be checked. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
MY MATE VINNY – Restrained from the wide barrier to a position closer to the rail at the rear of the field.
 
Race 6: WHITTINGTON AT GRANDVIEW BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1680 metres
 
SENRIMA TIDE (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up for clear running from the 600m to the 400m.
 
THE BIG EATER – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Near the 400m was raced in restricted room.
 
BLAZE SEVEN (NZ) – Near the 800m improved onto heels and was steadied. Approaching the 400m was checked when awkwardly placed at the heels of FAY CONQUERS ALL. Jockey A Allen was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear.
 
FAY CONQUERS ALL – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 7: GRANDVIEW PRE TRAINING & EDUCATION RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 1350 metres
 
COME IN SPINNER (NZ) – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running round the home turn until a point entering the home straight.
 
SEA ECHO – Bumped on the hind quarters over the concluding stages.
 
DANISH FORTUNE – Held up for clear running round the home turn until a point entering the home straight.
 
TRIPTONIC – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
MASTER BAYLEE – Began awkwardly.
 
GOLDSCHLAGER – Stood flat footed and lost ground.
 
ROCQUETTE – Raced three wide throughout. Approaching the winning post was tightened for room and was checked. Jockey T Brooker was pleaded guilty to a charge of to careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that over the concluding stages, did permit GOLDSCHLAGER to shifted out under riding when insufficiently clear of TRIPTONIC resulting that runner being tightened for room and taken out onto ROCQUETTE which was checked when tightened.  Jockey T Brookers licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 7 November 2021 and expire midnight 18 November 2021.
 
WILLINGA PANACHE – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
TOP GLAMOUR – From the wide barrier was restrained to a position closer to the rail at the rear of the field.
 
FIORENA – Slow to begin.
 
ABB ROY – Raced wide throughout.
 
RUSSIAN ROMEO – Rider B Newport reported that the gelding hung out throughout.
