GENERAL
The racing surface was downgraded to a Heavy 8 at 11:20am after 4mm of rainfall in the morning.
 
 
Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 800 metres
 
Ashiko Bay- Raced greenly and hung out for the majority. Co-Trainer C Geran was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
Purple Song- Hung out from the 450m onwards.
 
Six Ribbons- On returning to scale Jockey B Thompson advised that, in his opinion, the filly did not handle todays rain effected racing surface.
 
Kaytee Lucy- Slow to begin.
 
Oldtimerock'n'roll- On returning to scale Jockey S Fawke advised that his mount had raced greenly throughout.
 
 
Race 2: CLIVE'S GREAT ESCAPE Maiden Plate 2200 metres
 
Gentle Prince- Inclined to lay in approaching the winning post on the first occasion. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Magahat- Inclined to lay out rounding the 1600m turn. Obliged to race in restricted room from the 1500m until passing the 1300m having to be steadied as a result. Jockey S Apthorpe (VAIN LUKE) was advised to exercise more care as a result.
 
Vain Luke- Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover for the majority.
 
Isometric (NZ)- Momentarily crowded having to be steadied passing the winning post on the first occasion.
 
Jimmy The Tulip- Held up on heels for a short distance passing the 600m.
 
Hyperion Angel- Slow to begin.
 
Oceanarium (NZ)- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over-raced passing the wining post on the first occasion. Shifted wider passing the 1100m to improve and raced wide from that point.
 
Saxon Rose- Stewards accepted the reasons tendered for the late scratching of the mare at 1:06pm following the downgrade of the racing surface.
 
Star Diva- Slow to begin. Improved onto heels when the pace slackened passing the 1500m.
 
 
Following the running of this event the racing surface was downgraded to a Heavy 10 retrospectively of Race 2.
 
 
Race 3: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Maiden Plate 1350 metres
 
The start of the race was delayed when TIMSTAR required farrier attention in the race day tie-ups
 
Glashabee- Bumped ZOU ZOU MALAGUZIA approaching the 1300m. Inconvenienced near the 200m.
 
Magic Boom- Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped ANGEL GRACE. Obliged to steady off heels passing the 900m.
 
Wilson Won- Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Zou Zou Malaguzia- Bumped with GLASHABEE approaching the 1300m.
 
Lefty Lunacy- Began awkwardly and shifted out. On returning to scale Jockey S Cormack advised that his mount had travelled well until improving onto heels near the 700m then commenced to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Timstar- Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Angel Grace- Bumped on jumping after being slow into stride.
 
Riverina Ridge- Whilst inclined to lay out had to be steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of ZOU ZOU MALAGUZIA (T Marshall) which had been inclined to lay in.
 
 
Race 4: EVENTS @ IEEC.COM.AU BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 800 metres
 
Ask Audrey- Began very awkwardly and lost significant ground. Raced wide from the 400m.
 
Remember Mary- Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Reality- Slow to begin.
 
Trip The Light- Bumped approaching the winning post.
 
Splasher- Stewards permitted Jockey J Orman to be substituted as the rider of the gelding when Jockey B Stewart was to be late arriving on course. Jockey Stewart was subsequently fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR127(1). Shifted in approaching the winning post bumping with TRIP THE LIGHT. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Implacable- Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 5: SIRROMET BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Super Contender (GB)- Raced wide in the early stages.
 
Titanium- Slow into stride after beginning awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.Disappointed for clear running when attempting to shift out around the heels of EXTREMIST (App J Lloyd), which shifted out, on entering the home straight.
 
Ultimate Power- Raced wide for the majority.
 
Mr Storm (NZ)- Began awkwardly and bumped NORDIC SHOW on jumping. Raced in restricted room passing the 1000m and again passing the 900m when bumped by BENT BENNY (M Hellyer), which shifted out after being obliged to restrain off heels as a result of the pace being reduced, shifted out and bumped heavily with ULTIMATE POWER (App A Jones) and raced wide from that point. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
Nordic Show- Bumped on jumping.
 
Extremist- App Z Lloyd advised that his mount did not travel comfortably during the event and after obtaining the lead approaching the 1000m came off the bit more than expected.  
 
Bent Benny- Awkwardly placed on heels when the pace slackened passing the 1000m having to be restrained, shifted out and bumped with MR STORM (App J Cornish).
 
 
Race 6: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1700 metres
 
Kippax- Raced three wide with cover from the 1000m.
 
River Rocket- Laid in on entering the home straight.
 
Under Orders- Obliged to check passing the 1500m when racing to the inside of LITTLE JERRY (App J Cornish) which shifted in and away from PRINCESS CAVALLO (L Cassidy) despite the efforts of its rider.
 
Buffalo Girl- Slow into stride after beginning awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
Recall Events- Raced wide for the majority.
 
Congenial Mistress- Bumped soon after jumping before being obliged to steady momentarily when crossed.
 
 
Race 7: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1350 metres
 
Getyourgreyon- Raced three wide from the 800m.
 
Coup- Bumped with BOBBY AXELROD (B Ainsworth) passing the 1100m.
 
Naval Strike- Slow to begin. App M Kennedy advised that, in her opinion, the gelding did not handle todaysheavy racing surface.
 
Bobby Axelrod- Began awkwardly, shifted out and was obliged to ease off heels. Shifted in and bumped with COUP (App J Cornish) passing the 1100m.
 
Duble Gaze- Stewards accepted the reasons tendered for the late scratching of the mare at 5:00pm following the downgrade of the racing surface to a Heavy 10.
 
Expensive To Keep- Stewards accepted the reasons tendered for the late scratching of the mare at 11:55am following the downgrade of the racing surface to a Heavy 8.
 
 
Race 8: TAB Class 2 Plate 1350 metres
 
Jellishot- Began awkwardly and lost ground. Shifted wider to improve leaving the 1000m, obliged to shift wider again passing the 900m when KISS MY MILO (M Hellyer) shifted wider when racing keenly on heels, obtaining the lead passing the 800m. Laid out under pressure down the running.
 
Kiss My Milo- Shifted wider passing the 900m when racing keenly on heels.
