GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following jockeys to ride overweight.
Race 4 – Brodie Loy (HELLUVA BARTY) plus 1//2kg at 55.5kg.
Race 4 – James Orman (ROLL UP) plus 1kg at 56kg.
Race 4 – Michael Cahill (KAI TAK) plus 1kg at 54kg.
Race 9 – Chris Taylor (BLUE SMARTIE) plus 1kg at 55kg.
 
 
Race 1: BASE METAL FABRICATION QTIS Three-Year-Old
BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1680 metres
 
HAVANOTHERGO – Near the 150m rider J Orman momentarily lost use of his near side rein.When asked to comment on the performance rider J Orman advised after leading and setting a moderate tempo the horse was disappointing.A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities other than a slow post-race recovery.
 
UNCOMMON VALOUR – M Cahill, rider of UNCOMMON VALOUR, was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m, two more than permitted.
 
PARISIAN LADY – Rider B Thompson advised he elected to race three wide without cover from the 900m due to the slow early pace, however when placed under pressure in the home straight was disappointing.
 
STREET GLORY – Slow to begin.
 
FOUR MILE LANE – When asked to comment on the apparent improved performance trainer T Button advised he was not overly disappointed with the horse at its most recent run at Beaudesert on 3rd October in a race over an unsuitable distance which followed its performance at listed level in Toowoomba on 24th September. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
 
Race 2: THIS IS A CONVERSATION STARTER RACEDAY 28 OCTOBER
QTIS 3-Y-O BENCHMARK 1350 metre
 
COCOBREW EXPRESS – Slow to begin and as a consequence settled further back in the field than anticipated. Rider A Jones reported her mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer T Button advised it was now his intention to send COCOBREW EXPRESS for an immediate spell.
 
SAILOR'S SECRET – Bumped at the start.
 
AFFOGATO GIRL – Jumped out at the start and bumped SAILOR’S SECRET.
 
ARTEMAS – Fractious after being loaded into the barriers.
 
 
Race 3: NEED A YARN? TIACS SUPPORT LINE 0488 846 988 Maiden
Plate 1350 metres
 
After being loaded into the barriers AIRCRAFTMAN became fractious, was removed, and subsequently found to be sore in the off-hind leg and declared a late scratching at 1:55pm. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on AIRCRAFTMAN be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st BON ACQUISTO – 26c win, 27c place
2nd KINETIC – 19c place
3rd DRAMATICA – 20c place
 
BONJOUR MATE – Due to a clerical error some publications may have incorrectly shown the horse as racing in blinkers.  
 
BUON ACQUISTO – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
DE NILE (USA) – Began awkwardly resulting in rider W Peel contacting with the offside barrier partition and becoming momentarily unbalanced. After finishing some distance behind the main body of the field, a post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. As a result of the poor performance, trainer D Duryea was advised DE NILE would now incur a metropolitan bar.  
 
ISOMETRIC (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
 
ONLY THE LONELY – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
DRAMMATICA – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
GLAMZELLE – Rider S Collett reported the horse raced with its tongue over the bit for the majority of the event. Stable representative Cory Munce indicated going forward the stable would consider applying a tongue tie to GLAMZELLE’S approved gear.
 
KINETIC – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
 
Race 4: SIRROMET Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
After taking charge of the rider when proceeding to the barriers, NORTHULDRA galloped a significant distance and was declared a late scratching at 2:22pm. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on NORTHULDRA be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st ROLL UP – 13c win, 14c place
2nd HELLUVA PARTY – 11c place
3rd KAITAK – 12c place
 
Trainer’s representative for A Neasham was advised NORTHULDA must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
SCHMOOZER – Over-raced in the middle stages of the event. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Passing the 250m bumped with WARRIORESS on a number of occasions when shifting out to obtain clear running.
 
SECRET CASH – Jumped out abruptly at the start and bumped SOOBLOND.
 
SOOBLOND – Bumped heavily at the start.
 
TRUST IN A GALE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Bumped near the 500m and carried wider on the track.
 
WARRIORESS – Passing the 500m steadied from the heels of SCHMOOZER shifted out and bumped TRUST IN A GALE which was taken wider on the track. Bumped by SCHMOOZER on a number of occasions passing the 250m. Inside the final 100m was steadied to avoid the heels of SCHMOOZER which shifted out under pressure. A Allen, rider of SCHMOOZER, was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
DARING DIEGO – Slow to begin.
 
HELLUVA BARTY – When over-racing in restricted room near the 400m clipped the heels of SECRET CASH and blundered.
 
ROLL UP – Bumped heavily at the start. Passing the winning post, shifted in of its own accord and made heavy contact with the running rail.
 
KAI TAK – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
PURINUAN BOY – After being slow to begin was shortly after checked from the heels of ROLL UP which was taken out abruptly at the start.
 
 
 
Race 5: BUNDABERG RUM BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1680 metres
 
CALL ME LEGEND – Bumped on the hindquarters when laying in rounding the home turn and became unbalanced.
 
DORSET COAST – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.
 
CARNEROS – Bumped near the 1400m.  Laid in during the early stages of the home straight. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until a point near the 100m.
 
IF YOU CAN DREAM – Inconvenienced when taken in near the 1400m by BARRYMORE. Near the 150m laid in under pressure and became awkwardly placed at the heels of DORSET COAST and became held up and unable to be fully tested by its rider from that point until the winning post.
 
BEEF WEEK PRINCESS – Slow to begin.
 
CHAPELIS – Slow to begin.
 
LITTLE JERRY – Severely checked near the 1400m. At a subsequent inquiry W D’Avila, rider of BARRYMORE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that when under riding he permitted BARRYMORE to shift in when insufficiently clear of IF YOU CAN DREAM which was taken in and across the rightful running of LITTLE JERRY which had to be checked. The licence of W D’Avila was suspended from riding in races for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 15th October up to and including midnight 26th October 2022. After being held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight was again held up on the heels BEEF WEEK PRINCESS over the concluding stages.
 
 
 
Race 6: NUTURF BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 2150 metres
 
LUVYOUANYTIME – Blundered on jumping and lost ground. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages.
 
PAINTED BLACK – Laid out shortly after the start.
 
RIPCORD – Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader from then 1400m.
 
GAMBU – Held up for clear running approaching the home turn.
 
KIPPAX – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 7: ICARE SUPPORT SERVICES Class 3 Handicap 1350 metres
 
HUSSON'S REVENGE – Over-raced for a short distance near the 1000m.
 
WHISTLE HOFF – Rider W D’Avila dropped his whip near the 200m.
 
SUPER GORGEOUS – Cast both front plates in running.
 
 
Race 8: OXLEY GOLF CLUB BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1200 metres
 
KOSCIUSKO - Raced three wide without cover throughout the event. A routine post-race swab sample was taken from the horse.
 
AMERICANA MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
HOLSTEIN – Raced three wide with cover throughout the event. Had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 100m.

MORETON BAY – A Jones was reminded of her obligations under AR131(b) to ride her mounts out fully to the finish of the race.
 
 
 
Race 9: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Class 1 Handicap 1100 metres
 
GROOVIN' THE MOO – Jumped out at the start bumping CONTROL FREAK. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
CONTROL FREAK – Bumped at the start.
 
IMMORAL – Jumped in at the start and bumped NOT ANOTHER. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ASCOT EXPRESS - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
GREEN LEGEND – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
KLINSMANN – Began awkwardly.
 
NOT ANOTHER – Jumped out at the start and bumped IMMORAL.
