Race 3: HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY KIM WILSON BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP (1540m)
WEEKEND ARTIST - Following the disappointing performance of WEEKEND ARTIST, the stable has since reported the gelding had displayed general soreness following the run, was treated and will continue its preparation.

Race 3: BREAKFAST WITH THE STARS 10 JUNE Maiden Handicap (1350m)
BETTER NOT FORGET – Trainer K. Schweida advised he was dissatisfied with subsequent blood samples taken from the gelding and that BETTER NOT FORGET will undergo veterinary treatment before resuming.
Race 1: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP (1200m)
THEE CREEK – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
BRUTAL GLORY – Trainer K. Schweida was reprimanded under the provisions of AR102(a) for failing to lodge a stable return to reflect BRUTAL GLORY had been gelded.
DECEITFUL MISS – Apprentice S. Champkin reported as the filly was first up from a break, it raced keen and wide without cover throughout.
WEEKEND SPIRIT – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
ZHONGXIN KOALA – Slow to begin.
Race 2: TAB MAIDEN PLATE (1350m)
BOROGORU – Held-up for clear running rounding the home-turn and in the early part of the home straight.
HOLY STEPS – Raced wide and without cover throughout.
MUCHACHO – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 200m, momentarily steadied to avoid the heels of FLASH DRIVE (Apprentice B. Wheeler), which shifted in when not quite clear. Apprentice B. Wheeler was advised to exercise greater care.
VILLANDRY – Tardy to begin.
SLUGWORTH – Began awkwardly. Momentarily crowded near the 200m when O’REILLY’S SHOUT (J. Bayliss) shifted in marginally. Rider J. Bayliss was advised to exercise greater care. Carried out over the concluding stages when FLASH DRIVE shifted out.
FLASH DRIVE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages carrying SLUGWORTH out.
Race 3: SCHWEPPES IPSWICH INCENTIVE - HEAT - COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100m)
ADRANOS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the barriers. Subsequently refused to be loaded thereafter and was declared a late withdrawal at 1:42pm: Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on ADRANOS be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st LA PETITE MAISON 14c win, 14c place
2nd DASHING BASICS 23c place
3rd ROARING SUCCES 29c place
Trainer T. Gollan was notified the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
KIWI SPIRIT – Began awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m. Rider J. Guthmann-Chester reported the gelding was obliged to race wide from the 600m, did not respond to his riding when under pressure and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
REVALENE – Laid out rounding the home-turn and in the home straight.
LI'L REX – Trainer D. Murphy was reprimanded under the provisions of AR102(a) for failing to lodge a stable return to reflect LI’L REX had been gelded. Harmlessly dislodged rider C. Graham behind the barriers. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
MASTER MIYAGI – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels and steadied near the 800m.
ROARING SUCCESS – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running approaching the winning post.
CHEEK TO CHEEK - As J. Morris was unavailable due to transport difficulties, permission was given for G. Cartwright to be substituted as the rider filly.
DESTINYS SUMMIT – Raced keenly in the middle stages. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight before shifting out and bumping MR HANKY PANKY near the 200m when attempting to obtain clear running.
EQUINE ART – Rounding the home-turn and in the home straight, had difficulty obtaining clear running and went to the end of the race without being fully tested.
EMJAY STAR – Began awkwardly.
SANS EGAL – Began awkwardly.
Race 5: HARD RATED IPSWICH INCENTIVE - HEAT - FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100m)
TERRITORY ASH – Held up for clear running after entering the home straight until shifting out passing the 100m.
MISHANI SUSPECT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
CABALETTO – Lost its footing behind when leaving the gates.
HEY DAISY – Rider M. Rodd reported the filly races best when able to lead without being challenged. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.
HEY CHARDONNAY – Held-up for clear running rounding the home-turn. Approaching the 200m was checked when disappointed for a run between HEY DAISY and CABALETTO(J Huxtable), which rolled in under pressure. Rider J. Huxtable was advised to exercise greater care.
DRAVID – Began very awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide from the 400m.
BEAN BALL – Raced keenly in the early stages. Rider A. Allen reported the gelding laid out throughout.
Race 6: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 4 HANDICAP (1200m)
TALTARNI FIELDS – Shifted out and away from the rail near the 1100m, resulting in BEAU WITNESS also shifting out and away from that horse, causing tightening to FAMOUS PEDRILLE and SPIRIT OF BRODIE.
BOODUA ROMANCE – Bumped on jumping. Rider G. Cartwright reported the gelding felt uncomfortable in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrythmia. Trainer L. Gough was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance inclusive of an ECG prior to completing a 1000m gallop before racing again.
GIVE GIGGLES (NZ) – Momentarily tightened near the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice E. Lang reported she was unable to find cover and was obliged to do some work early to obtain a forward position. She added the mare performs best when able to obtain a position with cover.
MEAN APPROACH – Began awkwardly and bumped.
BEAU WITNESS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after contacting the fence upon leaving the mounting yard. Shifted out and bumped FAMOUS PEDRILLE near the 1100m. Near the 900m momentarily tightened by GIVE GIGGLES and then got its head up when GIVE GIGGLES shifted in before being corrected. Raced keenly for some distance passing the 700m.
SPIRIT OF BRODIE – Began awkwardly. Tightened near the 1100m.
HELLCIBELL – Raced wide without cover in the early stages.
MORE LOVE – Underwent remedial farrier work to the off-fore prior to the race. Blundered on leaving the gates. Raced wide and without cover throughout.
FAMOUS PEDRILLE – Tightened near the 1100m. Held-up for clear running rounding the home-turn.
Race 7: RAY WHITE IPSWICH BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP (2210m)
THE IRISH (IRE) – Rider K. Wilson-Taylor was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish.
ZAYNUDIN (IRE) – Slow to begin.
SMELTER (IRE) – Raced keenly for some distance passing the 1700m.
HE'S FINESSE (NZ) – Rider A. Mallyon reported the gelding may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer T. Sears advised the gelding would now be spelled.
BILPA MOREA (NZ) – Slow to begin.
WHATJEUDOIN' – Began awkwardly. Raced wide until the 1500m.
THE KHAN (NZ) – As D. Thornton was unavailable, permission was given for Apprentice B. Wheeler to be substituted as the rider of gelding.
SECURITY ADVISOR – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Rider D. Turner was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(b) for failing to ride his mount out to the finish.
KENSHIN MARU – Made the crossing near the 1400m awkwardly.
Race 8: RED BULL AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP (1350m)
SIR CARTER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MENSA MAESTRO – Began awkwardly. Laid in near the 900m.
PIREONTI – Slow to begin.
KOVANOS (NZ) – Momentarily steadied near the 1000m.
CARRAVILLA – Momentarily steadied from the heels of MENSA MAESTRO, which laid in near the 900m. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice T. Fenlon reported the filly settled further back than intended from the wide barrier and travelled well in the run. She added with the rail placement, she was satisfied with the performance. Apprentice T. Fenlon was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) for using her whip on consecutive occasions prior to the 100m.
