GENERAL
 
Trainer T. Costiopoulos was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare the rider of SHAQUE D’AMOUR by the prescribed time.
 
Trainer J. Lee was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to declare the rider of MOFEED by the prescribed time.
 
Stewards approved the following overweight:
Race 7 - W. O’Connell +1kg (55kg)

 
RACE 1:REMEMBERING JOHN HALL QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE      1350 M

BRUMAL - Raced greenly when under pressure in the straight. Following the event, it was noted to have lost its near fore plate.
 
WINGMASTER – Began awkwardly, unbalancing Apprentice O. Webb and consequently lost ground. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
ZOU ZOU KAPADOKIA – Slow to begin.

GLEN'S HEN - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
 
SPIRIT OF TORQUE – Raced greenly when under pressure in the straight.


RACE 2: TAB QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE          1100 M
 
DUKE OF ALBEMARLE - A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.        
 
LANGAN – Bumped at the start when ZANDARI shifted out and lost ground
 
OLIVONI – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Near the 350m changed stride and became momentarily unbalanced. A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.
 
PIROUETTE GIRL - Slow to begin.

ZANDARI –Began awkwardly and bumped LANGAN.


RACE 3: THE INDUSTRY SCHOOL MAIDEN PLATE 1200 M
 
The running of this race was delayed two (2) minutes when FLERTINO was reluctant to proceed to the start.

FUNHOUSE - Laid out rounding the home turn.

SHERIFF'S STAR - Began awkwardly, unbalancing rider A. Mallyon and bumped with BLUE WHITE BLUE. When making ground quickly near the 200m, steadied from the heels of THE MESSIAH and shifted out into clear running. Rider A. Mallyon reported some soreness to his left leg following the race.
 
BLUE WHITE BLUE – Reluctant to leave the tie up stalls and then on entering the track was reluctant to proceed to the start. Trainer C. Anderson was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its pre-race manners. Bumped at the start.

KING CHANCE – Raced three-wide without cover in the middle stages.

FLERTINO - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having raced for an extended period. Reluctant to proceed to the start. Began awkwardly. Rider J. Taylor could offer no explanation for performance of the mare, which was having its first start after a 12-month break and weakened from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have nasal discharge. Trainer G. Baker was advised the mare would be required to Officially trial to Stewards satisfaction for the poor performance and that a warning would be placed on the mare for its pre-race manners. Further, he was advised a vet clearance, inclusive of an endoscopic scope would be required prior to racing again.
 
RANCOUR - Raced keen early.
 
THE MESSIAH – Over the final 50m had difficulty obtaining clear running.

 
RACE 4: POCO VINO CLASS 5 HANDICAP     1350 M

COOL PANELS – Buffeted at the start between NIGHTCAPPED which shifted out, and NONDISCLOSURE.
 
NONDISCLOSURE - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NIGHTCAPPED - Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced keenly in the lead.
 
RUBAAHY - Slow to begin.
 
 
RACE 5: SCHWEPPES BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP          800 M

CLICK CLICK BOOM - Began awkwardly, badly unbalancing rider J. Stanley.
 
GOODES – Change of tactics, attempt to settle further forward. Slow into stride and settle worse than midfield.
 
SUTHERLAND – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to racing at the Gold Coast on Saturday 21st March 2026.

EXCELOQUENT – Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 250m until approaching the 150m and near the 100m, rider A. Jones lost her whip.       A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.
 
HEAVENLY AZ – Had the off-hind plate refitted on arrival at the course.        


RACE 6: BARRIER REEF POOLS CLASS 2 HANDICAP          1100 M

MOFEED – Raced wide without cover in the middle stages.
 
GUAC ON – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being fractious in the tie-ups and lost a tooth. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
 
VORKUTA – Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
CAPITAL HEART – Began awkwardly, shifted out and crowded ROYAL BOMBADIER onto DAITANNA.

MAJESTIC LOUVRE – Began awkwardly, then tightened for room and lost ground.       
 
DON'T TELLYAFATHER - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after undergoing tie-back surgery following its last start on April 30th 2025. Rider D. Thornton could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance, which after resuming from a long break, weakened approaching the 100m.
 

RACE 7: RACING AND SPORTS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP          1960 M
 
The running of this race was delayed approximately eight (8) minutes owing to CASANOVA MAN losing both front plates on route to the start. CASANOVA MAN was subsequently re-plated and underwent a veterinary examination.
 
BACCARAT ROUGE – Raced keen early and when being restrained passing the 1400m, got its head up on a number of occasions.
 
FABS CUZ    - Tightened on leaving the gates between REVELAIDE, which shifted out and WANDA’S OUTLAW, which after brushing with MAGADAN, shifted in.
 
KENSHIN MARU - Passing the 1800m, steadied when tightened between BACCARAT ROUGE and FABS CUZ, which rolled out after brushing with SLUGWORTH. Raced wide without cover from the 1600m until passing the 1000m, before crossing to lead the event.
 
WANDA'S OUTLAW – Got its head up and became unbalanced shortly after the start. Passing the 200m was shifted to the outside of FABS CUZ to obtain clear running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.

BATTLESPACE -  Held up for a run from approaching the 400m until passing the 300m, then had difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200m until the 100m.

SLUGWORTH - Held up for a run from the 500m until passing the 300m.
 
REVELAIDE - Raced three-wide without cover in the middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.
 
PAPAL MISS - Laid in rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Near the 100m steadied when tightened between REVELAIDE and WANDA’S OUTLAW (App. M. Apel), which was shifting out under pressure. Apprentice M. Apel was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for shifting when not sufficiently clear.


RACE 8: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP          1666 M
 
The race was delayed approximately three (3) minutes owing to the delay in Race 7.          

USE YOUR ILLUSION – Approaching the 300m, momentarily steadied when awkwardly placed between POSSIBILTIES and CHEVALLUM, which rolled out slightly. Rider M. Harley was reminded of his obligations to ride all his mounts to the end of the race, where possible. 
 
AIRSWING - Raced keen early and got its head up. Rider D. Boche reported the gelding travelled well, but when asked for an effort in the straight, responded moderately and was somewhat disappointing.
 
CHEVALLUM – After the race was noted to have lost its near hind plate.
 
POWER PACK – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  

MAPLE DOOR – Raced keen early and got its head up.

CANTARITO - Slow to begin. Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.


RACE 9: RAY WHITE IPSWICH RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 HANDICAP   1666 M        

HOKKAIDO (NZ) – Slow to begin.

LOU VEGA - Rider G. Cartwright could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.
 
ARDUOUS - Rider C. Graham reported from the wide gate she had to make use of the mare early, which had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort.
 
BETATHANEVA - Rider M. Du Plessis reported he was concerned with the mare’s action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

CHANCE WITH WOLVES – In the early part of the straight laid in and approaching the winning post, rider M. Butler stopped riding and corrected his mount to avoid tightening to the inside to XTRA LA VITA.

STAR ANTHEM – A post-race veterinary examination revealed heat stress.

ANOTHER DAZZLER – Began awkwardly. Raced three-wide in the middle stages without cover.
