GENERAL
 
Trainer T. Thomas was reprimanded pursuant to LR67(3) in that he failed to declare a rider for PABALLO, which was an emergency runner, by the prescribed time.
 
As jockey D. Turner was not riding at today’s meeting due to personal reasons, he was replaced on CLASSIC SHIRAZ in race 4 by jockey A. Butler.
 
 
RACE 1: IPSWICH TRIBUNE TODAY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1690 M
 
The start of this event was delayed approximately 1 minute due to PROBLEMATICAL being attended to by the on-course farrier and as a result, arrived late at the saddling enclosure.

SWING STATE – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
KRUMAC – Jockey B. Lerena had his whip knocked out of his grasp approaching the 100m.
 
PROBLEMATICAL – Slow to begin. Bumped on jumping away. When asked to comment on the performance in today’s event, jockey S. Cormack could not offer any explanation for the disappointing performance other than to state when the pace of the race quickened near the 500m, his mount was unable to improve despite his urgings. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
COOL DRINKS – Bumped on jumping away. Steadied over the concluding stages and lost rightful running when SWING STATE shifted out. Jockey D. Moor, rider of SWING STATE was found guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount SWING STATE to shift out when under riding over the concluding stages when insufficiently clear of COOL DRINKS (M. Rodd) which was tightened for room, causing its rider to take hold and lose its rightful running. Jockey D. Moor’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing midnight 11/7/26 until midnight the 20/7/26. Jockey D. Moor was informed of his right of appeal.
 
QUEEN JEDDAH – Raced keenly in the early stages. Checked and lost rightful running over the concluding stages when KRUMAC shifted in. Jockey B. Lerena, rider of KRUMAC pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR131(a) in that he permitted his mount KRUMAC to shift in when under riding over the concluding stages when insufficiently clear of QUEEN JEDDAH (B. Wheeler), which was tightened for room and checked, losing its rightful running. Jockey B. Lerena’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 12 days commencing midnight 11/7/26 until midnight the 23/7/26. Jockey B. Lerena was informed of his right of appeal.
 
Stewards upgraded the track to a Good 4 following race 1.

 
RACE 2: HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY GRAEME SHARPE QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1100 M

BOOM DAGGAR – Began awkwardly.
 
HARRY'S MODE – Lost the off fore plate.
 
TWICE BETTER – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Rodd reported that the gelding raced greenly in today’s event.
 
HOT IMAGE – Began awkwardly and then bumped by PORTNOVA. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
PORTNOVA – Began awkwardly and shifted out and bumped HOT IMAGE.
 
THREE RIVERS – Near the 850m when racing keenly, raced in restricted room and was momentarily steadied to the inside of TRUE INTENT which shifted in marginally. Near the 600m, steadied when racing in restricted room to the inside of TRUE INTENT. Raced greenly and was inclined to lay out until rounding the home turn.

TRUE INTENT – Near the 850m shifted in marginally onto THREE RIVERS.

 
RACE 3: CRUICE CREATIONS QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE     1100 M
 
The start of this event was delayed due to WINNING LADY being kicked, undergoing a pre-race veterinary examination and being cleared to start. Following this, the filly refused to proceed back to the barriers and was unable to be loaded. Stewards declared WINNING LADY a late scratching at 12:58pm by order of Stewards. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on WINNING LADY are to be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st – SYRIAN DIAMOND 17c win, 15c place
2nd – MY GIRL MARLEY 15c place
3rd – GRIEVE ROAD 15c place
 
Trainer J. Bruce was advised WINNING LADY would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to accepting for a future race.

GRIEVE ROAD (NZ) – Raced keenly in the early stages and when being restrained, raced ungenerously approaching the 800m for a short distance. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
INKWELL – Began awkwardly and abruptly shifted in and bumped MISHANI INFERNNO.
 
MAKE ME SHINE – Hampered at the start between BROOKE’S BLOOMS and MISHANI INFERNO which was taken in by INKWELL, which shifted. Near the 600m, was steadied when tight for room between MISHANI INFERNO and SYRIAN DIAMAOND which when racing keenly and being restrained, shifted out. Jockey L. Tilley stated that the gelding raced greenly and finished the race off well and would appreciate a step up in distance.
 
ROCKY CAUSE – Slow to begin.
 
MISHANI INFERNO – Hampered at the start and taken in onto MAKE ME SHINE.


RACE 4: GREAT NORTHERN CLASS 1 PLATE 2180 M
 
KOOJAN (NZ) – Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Chatterton advised that the gelding may have gotten its tongue over the bit and it would be the intention to experiment with a tongue tie going forward.
 
MONTEVECCHIO – Near the 500m, had to be steadied when improving onto the heels of the weakening KOOJAN (NZ).
 
OUR BRAVE LINI – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
SHAWNEE BOY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure over the final 100m.
 
 
RACE 5: TAB MAIDEN PLATE 1350 M
 
NASIRON – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
SHREWDNESS (NZ) – Bumped with HELL OF A HIGH on jumping. E. Lang dropped her whip at the top of the home straight. Jockey E. Lang reported that after being slowly away she elected to obtain cover from the wide barrier, adding that her mount travelled comfortably throughout and would benefit from today’s race.
 
WILD BEAN – Near the 950m, tightened for room and lost ground. At a subsequent inquiry Stewards established that QUEEN OF LIGHT (D. Moor) when shifting in, raced neatly to the outside of SEEYOULATERJOHNNY (D. Smith) which shifted in and away from that runner, taking NASIRON (A. Keeley) inwards despite the efforts of its rider, tightening WILD BEAN which became awkward when racing on the rail and lost ground. Stewards were satisfied that they could not attribute any blame to any one rider, noting SEEYOULATERJOHNNY’s tendency to shift in and away from QUEEN OF LIGHT (NZ).
 
BLOODS A RUSHIN' – Raced wide throughout.
 
CAPTIVATE LEGEND – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Rider T. Brooker reported at scale that her left foot made contact with the barriers on jumping away and was experiencing some discomfort.
 
HELL OF A HIGH - Bumped at the start.

SEEYOULATERJOHNNY – Began awkwardly.

ESTHER MARY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having last raced on the 14/8/25 and was cleared to start.
 
HANSAGLORY – Raced keenly in the early stages.

 
RACE 6: GORDON'S GIN RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1690 M
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, A. Thompson rider of SLIPSAIN and Co-trainer W. Hulbert (3rd place) after viewing the Stewards films, lodged a protest against 1st place getter CHAYSE ‘N’ LEISA ridden by apprentice J. Williams and 2nd place getter, AIMA SUN ridden by apprentice M. Apel, alleging interference over the concluding stages. Stewards, after hearing evidence from all parties and on review of the official films, were of the opinion that at a point approaching the winning post, AIMA SUN which was shifting in made minor contact with SLIPSAIN, a short distance later, CHAYSE ‘N’ LEISA which was racing to the outside of AIMA SUN and shifting ground, shifted in and brushed AIMA SUN. Stewards, in considering how all runners finished off the race, the proximity of the incident to the finish and the official margins of a short head and short half head, could not be comfortably satisfied that had this incident not occurred, that SLIPSAIN would have finished in front of AIMA SUN and CHAYSE ‘N’ LEISA, and therefore dismissed both protests and declared correct weight on the judge’s numbers.

SLIPSAIN – Change of tactics; settle further forward with cover. Settled behind lead with cover. Jockey A. Thompson was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(b) in that he used his whip above shoulder height.
 
CHAYSE 'N' LEISA – Apprentice J. Williams was reprimanded pursuant to AR132(6)(b) in that he used his whip above shoulder height.
 
SUMMIT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
CAUSEWAYS – Slow to begin.
 
AIMA SUN – Began awkwardly.
 
CLASSIQUE GAL – Slow to begin. Apprentice B. Osmond could not offer any explanation for today’s disappointing performance.
 
ESCAPE BEACH – Began awkwardly.
 
HARLEY CHARLIE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Approaching the 400m when commencing to weaken, was buffeted for several strides between CLASSIQUE GAL and SWITCHBLADE.
 
ROCKED – Forced wider near the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards. Laid in over the concluding stages and proved difficult for the rider to fully test her mount.

 
RACE 7: IPSWICH PARTY HIRE COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1100 M

CALMER KARMA – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
WHATA SORT – Tightened for room and lost ground at the start when MAJESTIC LOUVRE shifted out and YES I’M UGLY shifted in.
 
MAJESTIC LOUVRE – Began awkwardly and shifted out onto WHATASORT. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Laid out rounding the home turn and was steadied from the heels of CAPIANA. Approaching the 200m was steadied from the heels of PAPERCOWBOY which, when weakening, shifted in marginally. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
PRINCE OF SYNERGY – Slow to begin. Near the 950m when improving to the inside of PABALLO, raced in restricted room, brushing the rail and losing ground.
 
WORTHY ESSGEE - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having last raced on the 15/6/25 and was found to be lame in the near hind leg. Stewards declared WORTHY ESSGEE a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2:52pm. Trainer R. Pereira was advised WORTHY ESSGEE would require a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.
 
YES I'M UGLY – Began awkwardly, tightened for room, shifted in and bumped with WHATASORT and lost ground.   
 
PAPER COWBOY – Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
CAPIANA – Raced wide throughout.
 
MASTER MIYAGI – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
PABALLO – Near the 900m was momentarily steadied when in restricted room to the inside of YES I’M UGLY which shifted in. Apprentice S. Callow was advised to exercise more care pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in similar circumstances in the future.
 
 
RACE 8: FERTPRO FILLIES AND MARES RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP      1100 M

MISS ZERMATT – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight onto TIME TO CRY.
 
AEROPOWER – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 100m, attempted to improve to a tight run and bumped with TIME TO CRY on a number of occasions.
 
OCEAN JOY – Slow to begin.
 
RIVA D'AMOR – Raced wide throughout. Near the 600m was momentarily steadied. Laid in when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
HANNABANA – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
 
INTRECCIATO – Slow to begin. Near the 800m got its head in the air when being restrained and hung out. Leaving the 500m commenced to hang out and raced ungenerously until entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Stewards advised trainer K. Martin that INTRECCIATO would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards for hanging out throughout in today’s event, prior to accepting for a future race.
 
FLITGROVE – Jockey R. Maloney advised Stewards, his mount raced too keenly in today’s event and recommended to connections to remove the blinkers.
 
JARDIN DE LYS – Raced wide throughout.
 
TIME TO CRY – Over raced in the early stages. Approaching the 100m, bumped with AEROPOWER on a number of occasions after AEROPOWER improved into a tight run between ENCHANTED which shifted out slightly and MISS ZERMATT which shifted in under pressure before being corrected by the rider.
 
PACIFIC PIRATE – Near the 800m was taken wider on the track when INTRECCIATO hung out.

 
RACE 9: AVS SECURITY CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1350 M

TULONG – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 100m shifted to the inside of the STABILIZER to obtain clear running, resulting in ROMANTIC BUBBLE (NZ) which was improving, being steadied when in restricted room.         
 
ROMANTIC BUBBLE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Near the 900m raced in restricted room to the inside of TINKLEJAZZ which in turn was placed in restricted room by TARTAN TIGER, which momentarily shifted in, resulting in ROMANTIC BUBBLE (NZ) which was steadied, commencing to race keenly until leaving the 800m. Approaching the 100m, was steadied when racing in restricted room when TULONG shifted in under pressure.
 
DEVINE SQUIRE (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Approaching the finish line, was eased when improving near the heels of ARDIE THREE (NZ) which shifted in.
 
TINKLEJAZZ - Leaving the 200m, was obliged to shift wider on the track.

STABILIZER – Jumped in hampering SAVE THE ROSES. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
TARTAN TIGER – Raced wide throughout. Leaving the 200m, shifted out under pressure, obliging TINKLEJAZZ to shift out wider on the track.
 
SAVE THE ROSES – Hampered on jumping away. Jockey A. Butler reported on scales that he contacted the barrier partition with his left foot when leaving the barriers and was assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service on return to scales.
 
STORMSTOUT – Slow to begin and lost ground. Approaching the 700m improved onto the heels of ROMANTIC BUBBLE (NZ) and was restrained. Leaving the 100m laid in under pressure towards the heels of ROMANTIC BUBBLE (NZ) before being corrected.
 
DUBAWI'S GIRL – Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Commenced to weaken leaving the 500m and raced ungenerously until entering the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer J. Hancock was advised DUBAWI’S GIRL would now be under a metropolitan and provincial bar for today’s poor performance until it establishes consistent form at country race meetings.
