SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
Sunday 26th July 2026 – Sunshine Coast
Stewards concluded an enquiry into the tactics adopted by Jockey L Tilley on STARVECCHIO in Race 2 at the Sunshine Coast 26 July 2026. After taking initial evidence from Jockey Tilley and Trainer P Webster, Stewards adjourned to consider the evidence and review wagering on the event.
Stewards noted that Jockey Tilleys instruction were to attempt to settle the filly in a midfield position one off and that after beginning on terms with runners to his inside and when attempting to restrain STARVECCHIO for cover, it brushed the hind quarters of DAZZLING DIAMOND becoming awkwardly placed on its heels, causing STARVECCHIO to shift in when racing ungenerously. Stewards on review of the film note that the inexperience and racing manners of STARVECCHIO contributed to it shifting in nearer the rail when being restrained from heels then obliging it to race in that position. Stewards when assessing the matter in its entirety noted the circumstances.
