GENERAL  
 
The following horses were scratched at 11.30 a.m. due to no available rider – Race 2 Yellowstone Beth, Race 3 Solar Cert Race 6 Viking Valour.
 
Race 6 Mr Kobo – Emergency- Not required.
 
Jockey N Yadi was fined $200 AR127 (1) for accepting two rides in Race 6 on Armstrong Bay and Viking Valour (Emergency).
 
 
Race 1:MCKINLAY SHIRE COUNCIL QTIS Maiden Plate 1100 metres.
 
Insain Flame – Raced wide throughout.
 
Monte Azul (NZ) – Raced wide for the majority.
 
Some Cat – Shifted in and bumped Up to Us at the 800 metres. Raced three wide throughout.
 
Up To Us – Bumped at the 800 metres when Some Cat shifted in marginally.
 
Erotas (NZ) – Hung out from the 600 metres till the home turn. Rider B Stower dropped her whip at the 600 metres.
 
Tallulah – Slow to begin
 
Race 2: MARWILL / GULF COTTON BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres.

October Revolution – Raced wide and conceded ground sharply from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
All England – Raced wide.  
 
Vici - Raced wide.
 
Santorini Sun – Raced wide throughout.
 
Aura Gold – Difficult to load and slow to begin. Resented the dust kickback and failed to stretch out in the early stages.
 
Toronado Rouge – Slow to begin.
 
The Boi - Raced wide for the majority.
 
 
Race 3: FELSIES MOBILE WORKSHOP / LONSDALE BUILDING CONTRACTORS Class B Handicap 1100 metres

Chargrill – Raced wide.
 
Outcast Soldier – Raced wide
 
Wholelottalove – Raced wide.
 
Begorra - Raced well back in the field and finished strongly over the concluding stages. Jockey T Townsend was questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted.  Jockey T Townsend advised that she was not given any specific instructions from Trainer Ms. S Royes. She stated that when Begorra failed to show early pace she allowed the mare to settle at the tail of the field and Begorra did not stretch out in the middle stages due to dust kickback and consequently lost touch with the bulk of the field in the early stages. Jockey Townsend then elected to continue to race on the rails and urged her mount into the race from the 500 metres and Begorra had made up considerable ground and ran home well as other runners ahead fanned wider on the track reducing kickback dust. The explanation of Jockey Townsend was noted.
 
Kitsilano Beach – Slow to begin.
 
Shez Lethal – Hampered shortly after jumping.
 
Austral Diamond – Difficult to load and delayed the start. A final warning was issued to Trainer Ms. S Royes regarding the mare’s barrier manners.
 
Whiskey River – Jumped in at the start hampering Shez Lethal.
 
Geoff And Jenny – Slow into stride.Raced wide.
 
Race 4: JULA CREEK BUTCHERS MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1350 metres.

Joy McCoy (NZ) - Raced wide. Raced ungenerously and hung out over the final 250 metres losing ground. A warning was issued to trainer Ms. S Royes regarding the geldings racing manners.
 
Dangereuse - Raced wide and had difficulty keeping touch with the field. Ran extremely wide making the home turn.
 
Superstella - Raced wide.
 
Race 5: TOWNSVILLE EARTH MOVING / AIC MINES Class 6 Handicap1350 metres

 
City Playboy – Difficult to load. Race three wide throughout.
 
Seiryu -Very slow to begin and then raced wide and ungenerously from the 800 metres. A warning was issued to trainer Ms. T Parry.
 
How Awesome – Rider H Phillps shifted the mare wider from the 800 metres to avoid kickback and consequently lost ground.
 
Bitterblue – Late scratching at 3.45 p.m. acting on veterinary advice. Trainer Ms. T Parry was advised that she will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance for Bitterblue before it races again.  All monies invested on Bitterblue were ordered to be refunded.
Deductions applicable to bets placed on the winner and placegetters prior to 3.45 p.m.:

4 cents in the dollar for the place of winner Pennypacker
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place Chaseton
4 cents in the dollar for 3rd place Gardenzio
 
 
Race 6: MULTICOM RESOURCES ARTESIAN EXPRESS Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Risky Investment - Raced wide throughout.
 
Armstrong Bay – Checked by Hellarama at the start which jumped outwards.
 
Legal Challenge - Raced wide throughout.
 
Polly Hoffa - Hampered by Red Suture which jumped out at the start. Polly Hoffa raced ungenerously throughout the event and threw its head in the air on several occasions. Trainer Ms. T Parry concurred with Jockey B Harrison’s assessment that the mare was resenting the brow band and advised Stewards she would make an application to remove this piece of gear before Polly Hoffa again races.
 
Red Suture – Jumped out at the start hampering Polly Hoffa.
 
Hellarama – Jumped awkwardly contacting Armstrong Bay shortly after the start. Raced extremely wide throughout.
