GENERAL
1. The following horses were scratched from their respective races due to there being no rider either available, or willing to ride.
R1: OUTCAST SOLDIER, EROTAS, HOT FLAMINGO.
R2: PENNYPACKER, LAST DITCH EFFORT, RESTRICTIONS, CHASETON, YELLOWSTONE BETH, MAKEMINEMILO, POLLY HOFFA.
R3: UP TO US, BUZ FUZ, HELLUVAPUNCH, WHISKEY DRY,
R4: VONK, MANIC LIGHT, MAKEMINEMILO, FAR REACHING, EROTAS, GLASSOUT, POLLY HOFFA, BITTERBLUE.
R5: OCTOBER REVOLUTION, NAPOLEAN STRIKE, LAST DITCH EFFORT, GARDENZIO, TRICKATEER.
2. Rider Micheal McDonald did not attend today’s meeting after contacting the Stewards to advise that he was suffering from fatigue after riding at the Rockhampton meeting on Friday 14th November 2025, and being unable to complete his road journey to Julia Creek. Rider McDonald was advised that a medical clearance would be required prior to him next riding.
RACE 1: QEM CLASS B HANDICAP 1100M
ALL TOO VEGAS – began awkwardly and settled back; travelled wide from the 900 metres.
LEUCAENA – travelled wide throughout.
TUCK – rider Shane McGovern was reprimanded AR132(7)(a)(i) for applying his whip in consecutive strides (2) prior to the 100 metres.
WHISKEY RIVER – made the final turn wide on the track, with Apprentice Shae Neilsen stating that the gelding had been uncomfortable racing through the kickback in the early stages so she had elected to shift ground out which had proved beneficial. Apprentice Neilsen accidentally dropped her whip passing the 400 metres.
RACE 2: KATHY PARRY / PARRY PASTORAL MEMORIAL 1100M
NAPOLEON STRIKE- travelled wide throughout.
DANCE WIZZARD – travelled wide throughout.
HIGHGROUND – began awkwardly, however recovered quickly.
VONK – slow to begin.
RACE 3: CROKER RURAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200M
WEIRD GOODBYES – slow into stride and settled back.
TALLULAH – was fractious when parading with Stewards giving permission for the tongue tie to be removed; very slow to begin losing several lengths – trainer Ms. Tanya Parry was advised that a warning had been placed on the mare’s barrier manners.
RACE 4: 4 FITCHETT CONTRACTING / GABBERT 1350M
RED SUTURE – slow into stride.
WOLF POINT – began awkwardly.
RACE 5: DROVERS DOG HOTEL JULIA CREEK CUP OPEN 1350M
OCEAN EMPEROR – jumped out at the start
HURRICANE THUNDER – slow into stride; travelled wide for the majority.
SANTORINI SUN – lay out rounding the final turn.
REFORMIST – was presented at the inspection area without Blinkers, which were duly applied. Trainer Ms. Kim McGovern was fined $100.00 under AR106(1). Ms. McGovern was also questioned regarding the improved performance of REFORMIST, which had disappointed in recent starts. In explanation Ms. McGovern stated that the reapplication of blinkers and racing back on a dirt track had proved beneficial today.
