Race 1: HILLY MAUNSELL MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres
IMPROVING – Blundered out of the gates and shifted outwards for several strides.
OUR YOUNG MAN – Awkward to begin and raced greenly in the early stages.
THE LANDING – Raced wide for much of the race.
HEAVEN BLESS – Eased when placed in restricted room near the 600m, lay in down the home straight.
OSHUN – Jumped outwards.
SERRATALLI – Shifted outwards shortly after the start.
Race 2: STUART RAMSAY BM 50 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
ALGEROBA was a late scratching at 11am as there was no available rider.
COZHECANCAN – Upon returning to scale jockey J. Missen reported his mount had hung out for much of the race and never really felt comfortable in the run. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities.
DISCO LIGHTS – Slow to begin.
Race 3: SNOW & MARIE HALL MEMORIAL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1400 metres
MISSEY EM – Jockey T. Brummell lost his iron on jumping but regained it soon after the start, hung out rounding the home turn.
SO IMPRESSIVE – Lay in down the home straight.
FLOWER – Travelled wide to avoid the dusty track conditions.
HOT CHOCOLATE – Fractious prior to jumping, awkward and slow to begin, travelled wide in the early and middle stages and lay in down the home straight when placed under pressure.
UNLEISHA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection at the barriers and was passed fit to race.
Race 4: RBARCOO SHIRE COUNCIL JUNDAH CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres
STRIKE POINT – Travelled wide for much of the race.
DOOM – Over-raced in the early stages and eased off heels near the 1200m when galloping in restricted room. Lay in leaving the100m when placed under pressure and had to be straightened.
HEROISM – Jockey T. Brummell pleaded guilty to whip rule AR132(7)(a)(ii), in that he used his whip on seven occasions 2 more than permitted under the rule prior to the 100m and was reprimanded.
BRIS VEGAS – Slow into stride.
DARK ARCHER – Over-raced in the early stages.
HOGES – Slow to begin.
Race 5: BRAIDWOOD BM 60 HANDICAP - 1800 metres
There was a delay to the start of race 5 as the gates malfunctioned prior to jumping, allowing several of the horses through the front of the gates. JERRY ZANDER, TOWER ROAD, THE KROC, SURPISE SELECTION and STRAWBERRY BLONDE all escaped the barriers and were quickly restrained. All horses returned to the barriers and underwent veterinary inspections prior to competing in the event.
Minor repairs were completed on the barriers and tested twice before the loading process started again.
THE KROC – Awkward and slow to begin.
SURPRISE SELECTION – Jockey D. Rewald pleaded guilty to whip rule AR132(5), in that he used his whip on 20 occasions in totality during the event and was suspended to ride in races for a period of 10 days from midnight 02.10.2021 to midnight 12.10.2021.
DO I HAVE TO – Travelled wide in the early stages.
STRAWBERRY BLONDE – Failed to take the first turn cleanly after being hard ridden from the start. Jockey S. Gittos reporting he had instructions to lead on his mount.
