STEWARDS REPORT

JUNDAH RACE CLUB

SATURDAY 3rd OCTOBER 2026

WEATHER – Fine     TRACK RATING – Dirt     RAIL – True

OFFICIALS

Chairman of Stewards – R Hanson.
Stewards – T Brummell (Assistant Steward).

GENERAL

The following horses were declared late scratching’s by Stewards due to no riders being available at the meeting:
Race 4: INVADER'S GIRL
Race 5: FINAL COMMENT

Stewards accepted the reasons given by trainers in regards to the late declaration of riders at today’s meeting.

Race 1: SNOW AND MARY HALL MEMORIAL / TJF MILK CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000 Metres

FLASHMASTER – Began awkwardly and lost ground as a result.

GUNBOAT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

LOADED WEAPON – Began awkwardly.

MIDNIGHT MAGGIE (NZ) – Began awkwardly.

EGYPTIAN LASS – The start of this race was delayed when EGYPTIAN LASS broke through the barriers during the loading process and harmlessly dislodged the rider and galloped a considerable distance before being recaptured. The mare was subsequently declared a late scratching by Stewards on Veterinary advise at 1.17pm. Trainer B Johnson was advised that the gelding would require a further satisfactory barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on EGYPTIAN LASS be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – MAYBE - 22c win, 23c place
2nd – MIDNIGHT MAGGIE (NZ) – 23c place

MILK MAID – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.

Race 2: JT COX BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000 Metres

SINGLE HONOR – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TANGO FAME – Slow to begin. Jockey E Bell reported that in her opinion, the gelding was not suited by the fast pace in today’s event and will be better suited in races over a further distance.

BOURBON LANE – Raced wide throughout.

WON FOR VICKI – Began awkwardly and blundered on jumping.

SALTCLAY – Began awkwardly and shifted inwards shortly after jumping.

Race 3: GRAHAM HILL MAUNSELL MEMORIAL MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres

LISTING CAPITAL – Began very awkwardly and shifted in on jumping resulting in the gelding losing ground. Jockey T Townsend reported that after losing ground at the start, in her opinion the gelding resented the kickback from todays racing surface.

PRINCE SEVRES – Became fractious on route to the barriers and dislodged Apprentice Jockey J Miller and galloped a considerable distance before being recaptured. The gelding was subsequently declared a late scratching by Stewards on Veterinary advise at 2.45pm. Trainer M Pitman was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s pre-race manners. Apprentice Miller was examined by the on-course QAS Officers including the completion of a Head Injury Assessment Form to determine any signs of concussion and was passed suitable to fulfill his remaining rides at the meeting. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer M Pitman was advised that PRINCE SEVRES would require a Veterinary certificate before racing or trialling again.

Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards declared that all bets placed on PRINCE SEVRES be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st – LOQUITO - 12c win, 14c place
2nd – CORONATION DAY – 14c place

ALL VALOUR – Raced wide throughout the event.

KIJIVU – Jockey S Galvin reported that the gelding travelled well to the 600m and then failed to respond to riding from that point and proved disappointing in his finishing effort. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

JAMACRI – Began awkwardly and as a result lost ground.

INVADER'S GIRL – Declared a late scratching by Stewards at 12.15pm due to no riders being available at the meeting to ride the mare at the allocated weight.

In assessing penalty, Stewards considered Apprentice Stuarts unblemished record in relation to the rule, status as an apprentice, remorse and guilty plea. Stewards were also mindful that the totality of whip use was 7 times throughout the race.
