As Jockey J. Missen was indisposed due to injury, stewards permitted rider replacements as per stewards race day summary.
Race 1: Kilcoy Exchange hotel/ BP Kilcoy QTIS Class 1 HCP 800m
HOW ABOUT ME – Slow to begin. Rider reported that the gelding would appreciate racing over further distances than that of todays event. He also added that he recommended to connections to remove the blinkers for the geldings next start.
SHOUTS ALL ROUND – Hung out rounding the home turn and had to be steadied from heels.
JEPTOO – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported her mount was inclined to lay in throughout the event.
LUCSTANA – Rider reported at scale that his saddle slipped forward shortly after the start, placing him at a disadvantage throughout the event.
Race 2: KPC/Sammy Sequalo C,G and Entires Maiden HCP 1060m
ROUGUE SUN – Blundered at the start.
CANADEN – Blundered badly near the 600m and lost ground.
Race 3: Stockmans supplies/Eliza Park F&M MDN HCP 1060m
SPEDELLA – Stewards permitted rider half a kilo over the allotted weight.
NAKED BLONDE – Began awkwardly.
NATURALLY BLUE – Trainer C. O’Neill was fined $100 for incorrect gear, that being the addition of a tongue tie which was not part of the horses advertised gear. Raced wide throughout the event.
BIONDA DAZZLER – Crowded for room at the start. Over the concluding stages clipped heels and blundered.
CHILEAN QUEEN – After finishing a distant last trainer indicated to stewards that the mare would now be retired from racing.
MARREW MIA – Rider B. Powell pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in over the concluding stages whilst under hard riding when insufficiently clear of BIONDA DAZZLER, resulting in that runner blundering after being forced in and clipping the heels of DEAR MARY. B. Powell’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings to commence midnight 26 January and to expire midnight 6 February 2015.
Race 4: QLD Indoor Foliage/Raheen Stud B’Mark 55 HCP 1200m
MASAKARI – Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start.
PARTING – Stewards permitted rider half kilo over the allotted weight. Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer G. Richardson was advised that PARTING must perform to the satisfaction of stewards in an official trial before being permitted to start again.
QUICK SPUR – Checked at the start when tightened for room.
PAGOH – Near the 700m improved onto heels and had to be steadied.
Race 5: Butler McDermott Lawyers/Wattle Brae Stud B’Mark 70 HCP 1200m
OUR CLARKY – Began awkwardly.
Race 6: Triton Construction/Clear Mountain Fairview Stud Class B 1500m
FALKOR – Blundered at the start.
EPIC MISS – Slow to begin.
TUDOR ARMOV – Hung out rounding first turn. Steadied near 900m.
ELEGANTLY – Had to be checked after improving onto the heels of the tiring FALKOR rounding the home turn.
