GENERAL
 
MARY VALLEY – Race 4: After trialling at Deagon on 15/6/2021, the filly pulled up with a poor post-race recovery and has since been examined by a veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
Race 1: GOLDEN DOWNS ULTIMATE ENJOYMENT Colts, Geldings &
Entires Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
On return to scale a protest was lodged by B El Issa, rider of fourth placegetter AIR FORCE ROCKET, against both 2nd placegetter DAASHUR and 3rd placegetter BULL DIMPLE RUN alleging interference near the 800 metres. After viewing the patrol footage, B El Issa was granted permission to withdraw the protest against 2nd placegetter DAASHUR. In considering the protest against 3rd placegetter BULL DIMPLE RUN, Stewards found near the 800 metres BULL DIMPLE RUN, after being crossed by REBEL CAUSE, shifted out when racing greenly momentarily taking AIR FORCE ROCKET wider on the track. Bearing in mind where the incident took place and the ¾ length margin at the finish, the protest was dismissed and correct weight declared on the semaphored numbers.
 
BARONET – Steadied from heels near the 1000 metres.
 
DAASHUR – Rider Z Lloyd was dislodged on pulling up when the gelding shied. Z Lloyd was examined by QAS staff and cleared to fulfill his remaining engagements.
 
TWO SHADES – Forced wider near the 800 metres when CORBIN, after making the turn awkwardly, shifted out.
 
BULL DIMPLE RUM – Near the 800 metres improved onto the heels of REBEL CAUSE, had to be steadied and shifted out momentarily taking AIR FORCE ROCKET wider on the track.
 
CORBIN – Made the 800 metre turn awkwardly and shifted out.
 
ZOOMARATTA – Slow to begin. Poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
AIR FORCE ROCKET – Momentarily taken wider on the track near the 800 metres when BULL DIMPLE RUN shifted out.
 
Race 2: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
 
NINETYNINE STEPS – Inconvenienced near the 400 metres.
 
ROSE BY DESIGN – Slow to begin. Shifted in marginally near the 800 metres.
 
GOLD JET – Raced three wide for majority of the event. Bled both nostrils for the first time. Trainer I Hocking was advised GOLD JET would be stood down for a period 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward pursuant to AR79(4) prior to its next race start.
 
GALAXY GEM – Near the 400 metres, when placed under pressure, put in an awkward stride, became unbalanced and shifted out momentarily before shifting back in. IRONSTONE GAL, which improved quickly to the inside of GALAXY GAL, was checked.  
 
IRONSTONE GAL – Began awkwardly, shifted in, then obliged to steady from heels shortly after. After shifting back nearer to the inside near the 400 metres, was checked when GALAXY GAL, put in an awkward stride and shifted in.
 
MISS MOSCAT – Laid in marginally near the 400 metres.
 
AUTUMN HOUSE – Raced three wide for majority of the event.
 
WHY NOT ME – Restless after being loaded into the barriers. Raced in restricted for a short distance near the 800 metres.
 
TAUCITY – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted for a short distance near the 800 metres.
 
 
Race 3: THANKS KILCOY DIGGERS QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK
62 Handicap 800 metres
 
FIVE OXFORD – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Near the 150 metres steadied when COPPER SUNSET laid in.
 
COPPER SUNSET – Raced wide throughout.
 
BEST TO HURRY – Began awkwardly.
 
LADY TULESSA – Turned its head as the start was effected. Slow to begin.
 
THE DARLING – As T Brooker was injured, Stewards permitted B Nothdurft to ride the filly. Raced wide throughout.
 
LEO'S DEN – Tightened on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Made home turn awkwardly. Rider M Wishart reported LEO’S DEN did not appreciate today’s tight turning track.
 
RUBYEXPRESS – After arriving at the barriers underwent a veterinary examination after blood was present in its mouth and cleared to start. Bumped on jumping.
 
 
Race 4: GOLDEN DOWNS BRISBANE Class 1 Handicap 800 metres
 
MARY VALLEY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection and cleared to start. Raced wide throughout. Forced wider rounding he home turn when RAINING RICHES laid out.
 
MISS RHAPSODY – Bumped with TRIP THE LIGHT approaching the finish line.
 
TRIP THE LIGHT – Bumped with MISS RHAPSODY approaching the finish line.
 
WILD CHILD – Jumped in at the start.
 
CHARLOTTE RULES – Jumped out at start.
 
MISS CRUISEY – Crowded on jumping and lost ground.
 
RAINING RICHES – When racing greenly, laid out rounding the home turn and lost ground.
 
 
Race 5: GOLDEN SHORES HERVEY BAY RATINGS BAND 0 - 58
Handicap 1050 metres
 
MR BROSE – Slow to begin.
 
VOGUE ROCK – Bumped on jumping. Carried wider near the 800 metres.
 
DUBLE GAZE – Slow to begin. Steadied after improving onto the heels of CRAFTY AQUILA rounding the home turn before steading from the heels of COPSINTHEDONUTSHOP approaching the finishing post and went to the line without being fully tested. When asked to comment on tactics adopted rider M Savva stated the mare was pressured in the early stages to maintain a position at the rear of the field and felt flat for the majority of the race but did find the line reasonably well adding that DUBLE GLAZE would benefit from a step up in distance.
 
CRAFTY AQUILA – Checked near the 100 metres. H Phillips, rider of COPSINTHEDONUTSHOP, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 100 metres she allowed her mount to shift in under pressure when insufficiently clear of CRAFTY AQUILA resulting that runner being crowded for room, having to check and lose ground. The licence of H Phillips to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days to commence midnight 26th June up to and including midnight 6th July 2021.
 
THE BUMBLEBEE – Raced three wide early and middle stages.
 
CLICKETY CLICKS – Near the 800m, when overracing improved onto heels and shifted wider and remained wide for the remainder.
 
 
Race 6: CON AND JENNY SEARLE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap
1050 metres
 
ZOU DER ZEE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Disappointed for a run approaching the 400 metres.
 
CURRY CONNECTION – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
SOUND OF SLEAT – Slow to begin.
 
FILLYRAE CYRUS – Near the 800 metres commenced to over-race, and when in restricted room had to be steadied by its rider before being restrained to a position. Rider S Tomlinson reported the mare felt awkward in its action on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
FLEUR DE JOUR – Bumped on jumping and lost ground.
 
MACHU PICCHU – Slow to begin. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
PRIOR ENGAGEMENT – Jumped out at the start.
 
Race 7: KEITH BEAVIS MEMORIAL KILCOY CUP BENCHMARK 75
Handicap 1500 metres
 
SAFIN – Restless in the gates and inclined to get its head down. Slow to begin.
 
OCTAVIAN – Raced three wide for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SNIPFIT – Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Made the turn out of the home straight near the 1200 metres awkwardly. Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
JOCHBERG – When racing keenly near the 1200 metres, shifted out when restrained from heels before racing three wide from the 1000 metres. Made the home turn wide.
 
BOFORS – Restless in the barriers. Steadied near the 1300m. Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
ME MUM'S FOXY – Tightened near the 1300m and had to be steadied.
 
ANIMAL INSTINCT – Crowded for room approaching the turn out of the home straight near the 1200 metres when racing to the inside of BRYNEICH which shifted in slightly when not fully clear. K Yoshida, rider of BRYNEICH, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding when crossing when not fully clear.
 
 
Race 8: BEAVIS BARTELS FAMILIES BENCHMARK 58 Handicap
1900 metres
 
ZOUZOUZALO – Bumped on jumping. Pulled very hard in the early stages before shifting out to improve wide on the track and lead the event from the 800 metres. Severely checked near the 400 metres when tightened for room. B Nothdurft, rider of PUCKISH, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 400 metres when riding along he permitted PUCKISH to shift in which resulted in RESNARE being taken in and crowd the running of both SID and ZOUZOUALO which were severely checked. The licence of B Nothdurft to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days to commence midnight 26th June up to and including midnight 10th July 2021.
 
RESONARE – Taken in when crowded for room near the 400 metres.
 
GONZO – Raced wide for majority of the event. Laid out making the turn out of the home straight at the 1200 metres.
 
PUCKISH – Bumped on jumping.
 
GO MILLO – Near the 600 metres improved onto the heels of the tiring ZEDAQUA and had to be steadied.
 
NOBLE ARTIST – Raced wide for majority of the event.
 
BUDDY'S TALE – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SID – Crowded for room and had to be severely checked near the 400 metres.
 
BARTALUMBA – Slow to begin.
 
ZEDAQUA (NZ) – Weakened from the 600 metres.
 
 
Race 9: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
APPLECROSS – Crowded on jumping and lost ground. Over-raced on heels near the 1000 metres, commenced to pull hard, rider then elected to shift out and raced three wide for the remainder of the race.
 
CREDENZA (NZ) – Rider dislodged on route to the barriers. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and cleared to start. Crowded on jumping. Momentarily forced wider near the 900 metres.
 
HEADSPACE – On arrival at the barriers underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Jumped in at the start resulting in crowding to runners to the inside.
 
BIGGIE – Near the 900 metres, when over-racing racing in restricted room, had to steadied for a short distance.
 
LEARNING CURVE – Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping away.
 
SCARE CAMPAIGN - Crowded on jumping and lost ground.
