Race 1: JENNY SEARLE THANK YOU QTIS Three-Year-Old
BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Kobe Lad – Raced wide throughout the event. Rider R Fradd was reprimanded under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) for using his whip on three consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
 
Mr Encore – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider reported that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
Simply Better – Rider reported that his mount weakened noticeably when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Race 2: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL Colts, Geldings & Entires
Maiden Handicap 1200 metre
 
Pressure And Time – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Viking Forever – Rider reported that his mount resented racing inside runners passing the 300m and failed to finish the event off.
 
El Asteroid (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
The Grouse – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Zayde – Improved onto heels passing the 800m and had to be steadied.
 
Race 3: Peter Boyce OAM Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden
Handicap 1200 metres
 
Ma Dushka – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin.
 
Nirvana Ninja -Raced wide throughout the event. Rider reported that her mount laid out throughout the event.
 
Race 4: TAB Fillies & Mares Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
Peano Grigio – Rider reported that in her opinion the mare is better suited racing over greater distances.
 
Level One – Stewards accepting the reasoning behind Jockey A Allen being declared late on the mare.
 
Al Swiss (NZ) – Late scratching on veterinary advice at 12.55pm after injuring itself enroute the course. Trainer D Lane was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race.
 
Miss Fassifern – Commenced to weakened from the 500m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Race 5: KILCOY DIGGERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 62 Handicap 2076 metres
 
Snatch (NZ) – Rider reported that her mount laid in throughout the event.
 
Chasing Jackley – Laid in passing the winning post on the first occasion.
 
Northern Woods (NZ) – Rider could offer no explanation for the performance of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
Spurious – Shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider passing the winning post on the first occasion.
 
Prinente – Had to be checked passing the winning post on the first occasion when having to avoid the heels of SPURIOUS which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
Dixieland – Raced in restricted room passing the winning post on the occasion to the inside of CHASING JACKLEY which laid in. Apprentice J Malloy, rider of CHASING JACKLEY, was advised to make more of an effort to relieve pressure to inside riders when his mounts shift ground in future.
 
Race 6: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS Class 2 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey M Butler, rider of second placegetter DEEP STATE, to view the stewards patrol films to ascertain if he had ground to lodge an objection against the winner. After declining to do so, correct was declared on the judges numbers.
 
Deep State – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Tecoma Street – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Lady Shanghai – Trainer L Gough was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider. Hampered on jumping away.
 
Into Champagne – Trainer M Hoysted was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider. Hampered on jumping away.
 
Boudica's Gift – Hampered on jumping away.
 
No Choices – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Jondy Rocket – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Race 7: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL Class 5 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Chevy Nova- Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Suilven –Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and was obliged to shift wider on the track to improve into clear running.
 
Sir Piccolo – Slow to begin.
 
Tinder – Under went a pre race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the gates and was cleared to start.
 
Say Goodbye – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 8: KILCOY ENJOYABLE RACING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap
1500 metres
 
Bryneich – Raced wide throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination tenderness in the near fore shoulder. Trainer T Thomas advised that he would give BRYNEICH a short freshen up and would report back on the condition of the mare in the days subsequent.
 
High I Cue – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 9: SEARLES GARDEN PRODUCTS Class 2 Handicap
1500 metres
 
Dis Go Boom – Shifted in abruptly passing the winning post on the first occasions before being correct and as a result shifted wider on the track passing the crossing.
 
Bandit – Hampered passing the 800m when racing to the inside of FORCE ME (NZ).
 
Little Miss Pixie – Passing the winning post on the first occasion had to be restrained to avoid the heels of BANDIT, who was carried in by FORCE ME (NZ), who shifted in and away from DIS GO BOOM, which shifted in abruptly before being corrected.
 
Sheza Firecracker – Ran wider on the track on entering the home straight.
 
Crown War – Stewards intend to inquiry in to an incident resulting in Jockey T Marshall having to check on entering the home straight.
 
Brief Sojourn – Passing the winning post was checked when carried out across the heels MADAME MO.
 
Cutabri – Apprentice C Collis is reprimanded under the provisions of AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full allowance. In determining penalty stewards were mindful that this was Apprentice Collis’ first offence under this rule. Overraced in the early and middle stages of the event. Rider accidently dropped whip on entering the straight.
